Well John we had a couple of things that caused such a lengthy cleanup. First of all it was synthetic oil which is difficult to clean in the first place. Second of all our problem area was concentrated where the track was ground and polished which is very porous and is still sucking up anything that is put on it. There was 225 gallons of cleaning fluid put on that spill and it took every bit of it to get it all up. There was no way we were sending anyone down that track until it was all up. I would not allow anything but a good track. Today I made several calls to not only see what went wrong but to find out what we could do better. We had several suggestions as to what to try next and were even going to run a couple experiments in a secluded area to test these thoughts and thats what they are, thoughts, to see how it turns out. Michael even wants me to call the scrubber company and ask about trading ours in for a bigger faster one. THAT SOUNDS LIKE COMMITMENT TO ME. Did you really think we wanted to be out there for 2 hours cleaning that? No offense meant but I doubt that the other tracks that you have visited would get it as clean as we did before running on it. You know I just had a thought, next time we have an oil down you should go out there being that we don't know how to clean them up and you obviously have a better handle on it.

I'm not saying there is not a valiant effort being put forth for clean-up. I am saying there is something deficient with the choice of equipment or brushes, or cleaning solvent, or one part of the method or sequence. I didn't say I can do better, I said other tracks can do better. It isn't a cut on the crew at PRP and I think it is great that alternatives are being looked into for cleaning to improve function.

Something is different at some of the other tracks I have been to. I am fairly certain the oil is the same or similar. I am also certain that the track is similarly oil free when through cleaning. The only area that seems it could be different is in the choice of brushes or solvent / emulsifier selection in the scrubber. If the cleanup duration wasn't identified/accepted by Mike to be able to be improved upon, he certainly wouldn't have Keith looking into a different scrubber.

The 2012 facility improvements are great, the managing practice is greatly improved, the track prep is better, the lights are nice, two return roads are nice, the motocross track is great, the ability to get fuel is great, the prices are reasonable, and the food isn't half bad. The cleanup durations and the length of the shutdown are deficiencies. Call it a complaint, call it being a Retarded Fagnilli opinion, call it whatever.

John

I second that, Tony.

I'll have to catch up with the interview.

Now that wouldn;t solve anything would it?

How about instead, I try to work with Keith and Mike to resolve the deficiency?

Does anyone have Keith's phone number?

John, I just talked to Carmen and they are aware of your concerns. He spoke with Bill Bader yesterday and they're coming up with a way to deal with cleanups more effciency. Hope this helps.

Hey Carm, see if you can get a gamblers race scheduled for Thursday night. I'm sure that other people besides Nick would probably like that. Thanks.

I contacted Jason Miller this morning from MIR and I have some other information that should make it the best cleanup possible (albeit not at zero investment cost). Starting with different solutions and brushes up to taking delivery of a purpose built track cleaning machine. I left a message at a number that "might" be Keith's, but I am not sure if it was him or not.

If not Keith, is there someone else at the track to speak with regarding this?

I am in need of a enclosed trailer. Anyone have any suggestions on where to buy new that may have some financing options or any places to look for decent used ones? Brands to stay away from? Size I am looking for is 16 ft (smallest) to 22 ft (largest). Thanks for the help.

Hey, what a novel idea, trying to be a part of a solution than just a complainer.

John, I sincerely commend you on taking the initiative and making that call and trying to help the track. Keith is definetly the person you need to talk to.

Jordan, of course Mikey and I are going to suggest Bob Jones. Mikey got his through Bob, and I believe Bob was able to put Mikey in touch with the financing people. I'm on the lookout too, for a 24' to 28', but my use is limited, which is why I'm not going new. I just need it as a garage at the track and a movable one for whenever I get myself out of the 'hood, and maybe 1 tow a year to Norwalk.

Yeah I was thinking I should get in touch with Bob. I dont want to break the bank, but if I can finance one it would probably be nice to just buy new.

Nick, sorry to report, there will be NO gamblers race Thursday night. Carmen said that they're expecting close too 300 cars. And in the amount of allotted time, it's just not going to work.

Sorry buddy, I tried to get you a race. I guess you're just going to have to wait a few more days to do your womp womp womp

Mine is one of the cheaper Georgia ones. The quality is not as nice as a Haulmark or similar, but it is fairly lightweight and the price was much lower than the national brands. Assuming you are just looking at a trailer for bikes, you might want to look at a 7X 14' box with a V nose. Plenty of room in the front for gear / misc storage, and plenty for 2 bikes.

If you just want a pretty much bare bones unit on a budget, I'd go with the lower cost (albeit lower quality) ~$3000 units. bikes aren't as hard on trailers since they are very light as compared to cars (Especially the little baby bike you have Cool )
