i didn't mean to offend you about the motor deal at all...i was just trying to get some views on it. i think its great that the street racers have an end of the year run off. i didn't really get to know you til these past couple of years and youre a great person and its great having you at the track! if i ever need a motor built for the race truck you'll be the first person i call! but by no means did i mean to offend you or the motor deal.

ps....i'll be expecting that birthday present...december 5th to be exact!

Hey Tony-- Sonny Leonard just came by, and was going to drop off one of his Mountain Motors, it only had 2 stages on it, so I told him, Tony wanted 4 stages, and he could shove that one up his keester (hehe).
Matt-- hey munchkin-- no offense taken-- I know you were just heckling me-- but like I said, if I ever get a Mopar, you can have it. I have a lot of S/B inventory, that I'm trying to thin out, so I'm pretty well tooled up to do as many as possible right now.
BTW, to everyone on here, I just wanted to pass on a little tidbit for you. It has been 5 years since I started my sponsorship to help out a youngster, to further their racing career. 5 years ago, I picked Kevin Romeo, and he has exceded my expectations, and I'm extremely proud of him, as well as the Romeo family. I also helped sponsor Joey Pinsky last year, and now that he has moved back into the area, after a 1 year teaching job a Bradford, Pa., he will be back racing with us again next year in the points series. I have selected a new candidate for the 2009 season. I'm sure some of you have seen HER, or her car at the track. There is a young lady named Beth Penrod, and she has the little orange 69 Nova that she races in street. She is just a beginner, has a great deal of enthusiasm, wants to learn, and be competitive, and she will be joining the points series next year. I met her parents, and they are all very excited about the sponsorship, and are a super nice family. They are from the Johnstown area, and I hope we all can welcome her to PRP, and be helpful in answering her questions. Thanks to all of you for your friendship, and your help. Dean

Tom, stop being a downer. Big Grin Whatever time we get on the track, if we're delayed, is a lot better than not getting on the track, right? lol

Track drying process started at 7am! Roads around here are starting to dry up, so things are looking good! Run order is TCR, no box, junior dragster, box.

Update on the track. Drying still in progress. I feel we will be on teh track around 11-12.

Tom we didnt get the rain they were calling for and the track will be in top shape. The water issue occurs when the ground is saturated. Based on the weather that we had this week (dry and windy) and the amount of moisture we received last night we are fine. The ground is moist but not saturated.

This is not the way to make things successful at OUR track. If we do not support OUR own events and OUR own staff we will not make it very far. Please keep these comments to your self as the racers at PRP do not appreciate.

Just my .02 this morning.

See everyone there for a great weekend of racing.

Alright I deleted the post. I'd never wish ill will on the track or any of the racers. I try to support it as much as I can based on my schedule and finances. Good luck to everyone this weekend. Hopefully I'll be there this evening and tomorrow.

for those who werent there and thinking about sunday, there was no racing today at PRP for the regular racers, the 64 shootout was run to completion (congrats Kevin Romeo) and the N20 completed, so if you're interested its 5k to win Sunday

just a FYI

A big THANKS goes out to Greg Miller and his dedicated track workers for getting that track in racing shape. As I was driving to the track in off and on rain and mist, I thought it'll never happen. We walked that track before the opening rounds and it would pull your shoes off all the way down track.
Thanks also to Gene Nagy for the use of the air compressor they used to blow off the water downtrack.

Congrats, Kevin. I did hear it was a late, late evening.

GGG was a good time as usual. I was a little diassapointed though. It was about 3:45 a.m. And our bonfire was dying out so we decided to go party with some racers, any racers, and nobody was awake. I was like, "Why in the heck is everyone sleeping? Is this their first drag race?" Oh well, there's always next year to drink.

Good job Greg and crew. Too bad the weather didn't fully cooperate. If we hadd been on the track at 9.00, I think we would have gotton the race finished Sat. night.

Did they end up combining some of the events?

There wasn't anything posted on the track's website about how the weather affected the way the event ended up being run.

Who won what?
