We're fine. Just going to a be a little broker next year.
California has a moratorium on insurance companies. They can't cancel you or raise your rates now. Si I'll just pay my 2k deductible and move on.

Got to be something here I don't understand. I got 3 estimates and all were pretty close. So I let the outfit closest to me do it. On the given day they rolled in here (8 fellows from south of the border) took it all off, hauled everything away, put the new shingles on, and cleaned everything up, Done. Owner came by next day to get my approval and $6000 large. Permit?, for a roof replacement. Give me a break.
Anyway still getting colder so everyone here in the East try to stay warm.

Country living trumps those permits. LOL

4 guys came out on mine, tore off all the old roofing. It took 5 days. Metal isn't as fast as composite.

I left MD where, like Floyd said, you needed a permit to sh-- for NC where at the time it wasn't so bad. It is getting worse now. At the property I owned in WV you didn't need a permit for anything but the electric company had to inspect your wiring before they would hook you up. They call it progress????

Great weekend? let's hope so. Got a good start on that today. Moved one of my Camaro's and my dads 64 f100 to the new shop. Rain forecast may keep me from moving others tomorrow. Upcoming week may be cold here. Still warmer than Fern though, by 3-4 degrees. LOL. My yankee friends need to keep those temps up north where they belong. Y'all have a great weekend.

BTR looks like you got some snow. Woke up to 15 degrees and snow here also. Haven't seen 1 vehicle pass this morning on the snow covered road. Most people playing it smart and staying home. Since last week we got a new president, Calif has new fires, and all of the Biden crime family has been pardoned. What a country! Everyone stay safe and warm.

Happy snow day y'all... It's been a few years since we've had measurable snow around here. Yesterday afternoon, heading back home from working on the new home, was an adventure. As soon as the flurries and sleet showed up, the knuckleheads showed themselves on our roads, and the roads weren't even dusted yet. LOL.

Fern, were much warmer than y'all, around 33 right now. Had fun with daughter and granddaughter this morning with my home made, southern style sled. Old golf cart seat, flipped over, poked a hole in one end, tied some rope to it and gave grandbaby a good time in the street. Wore me out though, since I was her puller. No slopes here in the flatlands....

Hope everyone is doing well out there. Have a great week.

Fern,
It was so cold out here my nipples got hard. Woody had to put on a sweater to go outside to pee.

Thanks King. Got real warm here today. I took motor home and got propane tank filled, mowed the leaves for 3 hours, then got the SL 63 Mercedes out and took her for a spin since it was nice. Don't drive it much but it will get the juice pumping. As I said, stay safe

G'mornin y'all. Warming up and thawing out over here again. Thankfully I've been able to turn the water faucet off inside my out of town house. Pretty sure we went 2+ weeks with consistent mid 20 and lower temps. Please don't laugh, I know many get much lower temps for far longer timeframes. Us East coast NC flatlanders ain't built for that crap... LOL. Slowly getting moved into the new to us home. Wife keeps adding to the "to do list" of what she needs done before moving in. sheeeeesh.... Got my security cameras wired in yesterday for the garage, so now I can feel good about moving the SS car over this week. While it would hurt my feelings if someone broke in and made off with any of the other cars, The Superstocker is not replaceable to me (sentimental value) and would seriously hurt me if it were to be removed from my life.

Fern, glad you're exercising the your Mercedes. Can't let em sit too long before neglect problems creep in.

Floyd, keep staying warm. How's the fire situation looking out there? I recently saw where there's rain coming, or maybe already there, causing mudslide concerns now that the vegetation has been burned off, along with homes...

B King, I've been keeping up with your quad build on the Classracer threads. That quad is baddass. My current neighbor builds pretty neat stuff as well. He put a snowmobile engine in a golf cart a while back. I'm donating an old John Deere mower, probably one of my GT275 chassis, to him to build a hotrod out of it. He's got another, bigger snowmobile engine that he mentioned putting in it. Gonna miss living across from him once we move to the new place.

BTR,

This DRR thread explains some of the history on the quad & more specifics. While it was primarily built for bracket racing & some heads-up. Now, we are swapping it the other way around.

The fires are about 50 miles away.
The president came down pretty hard on our poor excuse for a governor and the LA mayor about the lack of prevention and handling of water issues. Hopefully they will both be gone soon.
Now our thoughts are on the tragic air crash in Virginia.
Praying
