Good evening. Glad you're able to stay cool out there Floyd. Weather in SE NC has been much more tolerable since the tropical storm rolled through a few weeks ago. Highs in the low 80's and lows in 60's/low 70's forecast this week.

Work may ease up on me over the next few weeks, so there's hope for working on the race car again soon. Y'all have a great week...

10:00 am and the temperature here was 94* with an expected high of between 106* and 107*. By Wednesday of Next week the forecast is in the mid 80's. At least we don't have high humidity to go with the temperature. I can take the heat but have issues with humidity in the 90's.

Everyone have a great week and stay safe.

Was 51° this morning when I left my house. We have cooled down quite a bit in the later part of August and now early September. I don't like cold weather but we are getting into the best part of Oklahoma's year. FALL!!!

Hope everyone is getting some racing in and if not at least having a good year. I lucked into a R/U Saturday night in a pro tree no box race. First time running one and it was fun. I wasn't great but I was good when I needed to be.

Y'all have a good day.

Looks like I have been gone awhile but not much happening here. Went through the heat wave now its nice and cool. I watched some of the MIR race over the weekend, lots of my old MD racing friends in attendance and looked like they had a good crowd. Just proves you have a reasonable priced race with a fair payout' treat the racers fair, and give them a good track to race on ---THEY WILL COME! Someone needs to get the foot brake/no box deal straightened out so racers know whats going on. AND, a Tesla is not a foot brake/no box car. Anyway there are a lot of those cars out there that are staying home and if this is you you are part of the problem. Good to see the WFC promoters taking on the Thanksgiving foot brake race at Piedmont this year. They run a good program. Everyone stay safe and I'll try to be more vigilant.

Happy Sunday evening y'all. Floyd, I saw in the news about more major fires out west. Hope you're not in the danger zone. With the showers you mention, they're likely a good thing. Seems we're in another wet season over here. Going to have to scramble to get my scheduled work done this week. Of course last week, the morning after I pay for tickets to the NHRA Charlotte race and book hotel, we get the good news of rain Friday, Saturday and today. Tomorrow's going to be worse. Thankfully just rain, no major winds. Had planned to be there Friday, early afternoon to catch as much sportsman racing as I can. Not looking good for that, but I should be able to get there for Saturday and Sunday.

Hey Fern, how's the bionic knee going? Looking forward to reading about you on the strip again.

Getting a little bit closer to working on my race car it appears. Might end up having a little extra fun when I pull it back out. My neighbor teaches movie production at one of our local colleges. Several years ago he did some production work on a few car/hotrod building episodes some folks tried putting together, similar to some of the popular hotrod stuff on tv. The "money" people involved didn't work out and it didn't go anywhere. He's talking about doing his own deal now, without anyone he has to rely on. He builds some pretty neat stuff, so I'm hoping it works out for him. Currently building a drag mower. I'll be donating one of my spare parts mowers to him to build a second one so we can race up and down our street. Y'all think an old 25'ish HP mower engine would handle a 25-50hp shot of nitrous? Smile He put a snowmobile engine in a golf cart a while back for his cousin. I was out of town and didn't get to see it before his cousin took it home, but he said it was a riot. LOL. He says he wants to shoot me getting the race car back together and running, once I get time to put into it. Maybe he can make me famous? LOL. I have a face for radio, so doubt I'll find my big break.

Y'all have a great week.

Thanks for asking BT. Came at a good time as today was my first day at the track since April. Knee worked real good and car did as well. I was at Piedmont and rain hit before 3rd round. I was still in but hit the road so I have no idea what happened. Floyd you all sure do burn a lot out there. No wonder we have climate change. Someone tell SL Fern can still win a round at a young 83 LOL. Everyone stay safe.

Damn, has everybody fone to sleep?

Mornin Y'all,

Every thing is finally pretty good out here. The fires have tamed down a lot so the air is getting breathable.

Good evening y’all. Super busy week for me. Better to be busy than not though. The money’s better that way. Hanging out with a few friends in Charlotte this weekend for the NHRA race. Been pretty good so far. Had planned to get here Friday morning to catch more Sportsman stuff, but missed that. Saturday and Sunday will have to do.

Car looks nice B.

It's starting to cool down here in OK. I went to the divisional in Tulsa last weekend and roasted. We had some record setting heat Thurs. through Sunday then it was 66 for a high Monday. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day.

Curtis I am about 200mi from where all the damage was done. Its pretty bad out there and seeing places I have been ravaged by flood water. We had reservations for Pigeon Forge this month but our camp ground was hit pretty hard so we cancelled. People around here that raced at the Fling had to go about 100mi further to get home because I-40 and I-26 were washed out. All is well here except for some rain. Still waiting on Mercedes, Smart car, and hot water heater repairs. Life is good, everyone stay safe.

You are right Floyd. Making progress here. Water heater is finished, going to VA in the morning to get my Mercedes back. but Smart car is still at Mercedes dealer in Cary, NC waiting for a part. Grand kids evacuated FL but went back yesterday and everything was ok at their house. No house gas and car gas stations had no fuel. As I said before all is good here. Stay safe

I'll stop in to say Good Morning.
Weather turned cool today and will get cold at night. That's not good as I'm just a short distance from all of the devastation from Helene. Our county was very lucky, biggest damage was trees down and power outages, we didn't have much flooding. One of the few positives in that it was warm. Those that still have no power or no home will now have to deal with close to freezing or below freezing temps at night.

Good evening y'all. Hope everyone is doing well. Been a while since hopping on the forums. Nothing of much interest going on here. Surprisingly, still super busy at work. Usually slows down a little by now. Busy=$$$, so not going to complain. Beginning to consider using my dually for target practice. It's been at 2 reputable shops for tranny issues and it's still no bueno... Freshly rebuilt tranny not shifting. Tranny shop says computer issue. Other shop says valve body is the problem. goes back to tranny shop tomorrow since it's still under warranty. Can't wait to hear what they have to say Roll Eyes
Wife found a house nearby that we may take a shot at buying. Market is way too pricey for my liking right now, but it will definitely meet our needs far better than our current home. This one has a heated/cooled 1600 sq/ft shop, which is all I'm interested in. She can have the house, I'll live in the shop. LOL

Floyd, thanks for bringing this one back to the upper deck.

Fern, glad to hear things are going well.

Eman, glad y'all got off relatively easy. Thankfully, my family and friends in the areas of both storms are ok, with little/no damage.

Y'all have a great week.
