G-day y'all... Rainy, windy day here in SE NC. Not much going on and that I want to do in this mess, so staying inside today. More good'ish news here. I've moved lots of my hotrod stuff into the new shop. Still 2 tool boxes and 2 work benches to go. Need to move my 10x12 shed over as well. Planning to build a loft inside the rear of the shop, but gotta wait til I'm finished donating money to my wife for all the necessary home repairs. With a little good fortune, the HVAC duct replacements will be done this week and we can actually move in and put the current home up for sale. HVAC guy ran a camera inside our ducts and the pictures show they have their own ecosystem inside. Looked like a small animal carcass inside one run as well. On a good note, a large portion of the house will essentially be brand new when we move in.

Fern, How was the HOF show in Greensboro? I had hoped to go, but had to run to Jacksonville to take care of a couple things at moms old house instead. Could have done that today, but knowing rain was forecast for today, yesterday was my best option. I saw a bunch of pics that made it look like a great weekend there.

Hope everyone's doing well out there.

It was great. Saw lots of friends I hadn't seen in awhile. My longtime friend Rico Garner got a well deserved lifetime achievement award. He actually drove my car in the past. Other inductees were Steve Gibbs, Burwell Kendrick, Tommy Grove, and Alfred Williams. Bubba and Jay Turner and there helpers did a great job.
Don't go to the Greensboro Colosseum without a credit card, no cash accepted even for parking.

Well lets see how this works out. The wind storm took down a couple of trees at my Maryland place. One went through the roof of the house with a snow storm coming in 2 days. Insurance Co is swamped and of course help is non existent + I am 400mi away and have an important Dr appointment tomorrow. I guess it could be worse. Everyone stay safe.

Dang Fern.... That bites the big one for sure. Hope there's minimal damage.

Got a little more stuff moved today. HVAC folks say next week for their final repairs. Bummer that we don't get to move in this week. Another positive for me... With moving stuff to the new shop, I've found lots of stuff I forgot I had. Found a band saw I thought I had sold and a couple door glass today. Not sure if they're for the 70 'Cuda or the 68 Camaro. Left them in the bubble wrap. I'll open them later.

Glad you got your roof on Floyd.

Hope everyone’s day is going better than mine. 13 degrees right now. Had freezing rain and sleet 6:00 to 11:00 this morning. Now 20-30mph north winds and snow. I hate winter. At least it’s not the day Fern just had.

Mornin Y'all

Weather us great out here. Great in Phoenix too.
I'm just sitting here watching the Div 7 race in Phoenix. Several of my friends are there so I'm kinda glued to the tv. Youtube has it live.

Checking in!

Sorry, I've been super busy with the 3 bracket race vehicles, trying to get one race car sold, debut in a stocker & possibly bringing a Super Stocker out of moth balls. Retirement is keeping me busy!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Life is good. Last post it was 15 and snow today 70 and not a cloud in the sky. I got my new slicks mounted but not on the car yet, changed the oil but haven't started the car yet. Went to eye doc Friday and all is good there. Don't know if I mentioned it before but I got some storm roof damage up North a week or so back. Yesterday adjuster quit the insurance co, the drama goes on! Everyone stay safe

Huge congrats to Matt Ward on his big win this past weekend. I don't know if he still gets on here at all but I recognized his car on FB in the winners circle. Believe he took home $3000 in a fb race.

Mornin y'all,
My adjuster didn't quit, he just denied my claim. I had to pony up the 17 grand for a new roof.
Y'all have a gooden.

Good afternoon y'all. Nice and sunny here in SE NC. Finally get to actually move into the new'ish house this weekend. HVAC has been an absolute mess and has bled my wallet dry. Took a week to remove all insulation under the house, then another week for HVAC folks to remove all damaged ductwork and install new. Next week starts the encapsulation under there. Thankfully, they can do their job while we're living there. Also thankfully, I'm getting back to work now that I don't have to be at the new place so much. Not sure when I'll be making time for hotrod stuff, but I'm cautiously optimistic that will be soon.

Floyd, Hopefully the bank will find me some $$$ during their inventory process. Not holding my breath, LOL.

Fern, hope the storm damage dilemma is getting cleared up.

You are a mess Floyd. BTR I got daughter dealing with storm mess up there. I’ll deal with what’s left later. I refuse to stress.
Went to Dr today and was basically told that my body is wearing out. Will go back home in the morning and get motor home ready to go to the beach next Sunday. Check out the foot brake race coming to Farmington. Later

Not a good morning:

One of the hardest things to deal with as you get older is the loss of so many friends. In the past 8 days we had two funerals and four more friends are in real trouble.

I've stopped counting the number of funerals , it's easier to count those that are still alive.
That list is very short.

I know the feeling and I am sorry for you. I will be 85 in less than a month and there are only a few left from the old days and only one of those that I grew up with as a kid. My best friend of about 60 years had a mild stroke last week but is ok for the most part. I buried another of my younger brothers in Feb, thats 2 both younger than I. I guess one of these days it will be my turn but I have had a very good and blessed life so I just think of all the good people and things in my life and carry on. Life is good--so far!
