Afternoon, all! Got my fingers crossed for a race day tomorrow. It's going to be warm and a bit humid, which always throws that chance of the shower popping up. Good series sweep of the D-backs by the Pirates, and great hockey game by the Pens gets them into the Stanley Cup finals.

Go get 'em, Fern! Michael/Ducky already has you on Facebook, by the way. Big Grin

J, been there many times. My favorite is when I pound the brakes... after I'm through the stripe. Good job, brain!

You all have a great weekend! Ice cream time! Remember the fallen, who made possible all that we do.

Mornin Y'all!

Everybody wish my boy a Happy Birthday. He is fifty years old today. I remember the day vividly. We left the hospital about 2:30 AM and the liquor stores were all closed.
Y'all have a gooden.

Mornin Y'all!
For my boys 50th a buddy of his flew in from Australia to surprise him. Flew in Saturday and going back Tuesday. Now that is friendship.
We all went out to dinner last nite and I'm still full as a tick. My boy wanted a great steak so he picked one of the best steak houses we evr heard of. As soon as the waiter said "30 oz Waygu 5 Tomahawk Steak" he said that's what I want. I got a taste and I must admit it was fantastic. Too expensive for me but nothing is too good for my boy.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Went down to the beach with the wife and kid and had really nice weather. Fern I can't believe the amount of entries for the VA race. Footbrakin is still alive and kicking. I have to make it down there one weekend.

Any one that has a good reputation and does what they say can have a race like this. Key word is "guaranteed purse". None of that need 200 cars, only top will be cut if short, after paying $250 to run for $10,000 paying 8 places........And they wonder why no one shows up. Then there the ones that have twice the cars they need and stick it all in their pocket never once thinking of kicking a little more back to the racers----and lets get rid of this re entry stuff. Kevin Pollard has had some of the best races for the racers in the country and lets hope he keeps it up......Top bulbers get their chance this Labor day weekend so mark your calenders.

Afternoon, all! I hope you all had a great weekend. Out with friends Friday night, having a good time. Warm one on Saturday, fried my brain... I think I dumped at about the 1100' mark, I was so early giving up the stripe when I shouldn't have in Mod, took .026 in Street and went under by .0001. Awesome. Won the buyback and round 2 in Mod, then we got rained out.

Happy belated to your boy, Floyd! That looks like an awesome steak. Great way to celebrate, with his friend coming in.

1258, the beach is good stuff.

Fern, that's awesome Kevin did that. I saw Lisa King post on FB that Seth and Chris were running for $13k, and I thought there was a $3k gamblers after the $10k, didn't know that Kevin boosted the payout. I really need to make this race.

You all have a great night!

Went to VA Hospital tonight about leg---nothing broken ligaments and cartilage are torn. Got a shot, lots of pain pills, and a brace on it. Will see how that works

Ouch Fern good luck in that recovery.

Sounds like my dad and I are going to yank the transmission and converter on the car. We may just go with a brand new transmission and send the converter to the guy who we may buy it from. Trans might be coming from Select Transmissions.

Mornin' all! Rainy start to the day, hope it all gets out of the area before Saturday's racing. Trending in the wrong direction, but there are 2 days for it to change. Great win for the Pens last night, 2 more to be Stanley Cup champs again. Now if only the Pirates could break out of their funk.

Fern, I'll text you. Friend of mine here twisted her ankle pretty good running after her 4 year old, brace is helping her a lot, along with time.

1258, good luck on the trans. I probably mentioned before, but manual valve body did a lot for my car's consistency, and I drove it on the street with no problems.

You all have a great day!

1258,
Last season my 60' times and reaction times started going to shyt so I thought my convertor was going away. I talked to Pete over at Hughes Performance and he said send it in for a look see. I figured might as well have the trans freshened at the same time.He opened up the convertor and found it to be fine. Said A-1 built me a nice unit. Didn't find the same with the trans. It was pretty well used up. Some broken parts and worn stuff. They rebuilt it with new stuff and it's fine now. They even put a quicker trans brake on it. I'd use them again in a heart beat. They are just as good with a t-400 as a powerglide.

Thanks guys for the recommendation. I will give you more details after my dad talks to the guy. My dad is hoping he can work a deal since he will be buying a powerglide from him for his car.

Mornin Y'all!
You've probably all heard by now that it's going to be hot out here. Do I need to tell you what Buddy and I will be doing? I didn't think so. It's chill time with the AC. We might go out and get the mail but we'll probably wait till the sun goes down.Of course it's only going to be hot for the race weekend and supposed to cool down starting Monday.

J, it's too hot to drive up here anyhow. Although it's going to be a little cooler up here compared to where you are.

Mornin' all! TGIF! Hoping the rain holds off tonight, heading to the Angels-Pirates game with friends. And for tomorrow, for racing. Forecast keeps moving around for chances of rain Saturday. Of the 2, let it rain tonight. I can have a beer and a nosh and still have fun while it rains.

Floyd, J, I wish we could send you this rain. It was coming down in sheets on the way to work this morning, flash flood warnings into the afternoon. Might cool you off some out there too.

1258, I'm sure it will work out well for you, either way.

You all have a great weekend! Ice cream time!

New transmission ordered for the Malibu, trying to figure out what's best bet for converter. Buy completely new one or get it redone. Spending at least $250 as is to get redone.

Mornin' all! I hope you all had a good weekend. Pirate game with friends Friday night, got a little racing in Saturday. Got whacked second round in Modified, and won second round in Street. Rain came in just long enough at the wrong time, a little before 9pm, to end the day before 3rd round started. There was no daylight left, and the air was so humid nothing would have dried. It was crazy... half mile down the road from the track, it was bone dry.

1258, I've had BTE refresh mine when I was running the 10", and I blew up my BBO. Cost effective compared to buying new.

Today is the 72 anniversary of D-Day. bow You all have a good day.
