Discussing current events and being aware of what’s going on outside your own little private Idaho is what many reasonable people do. You know people like maybe you, me and many others. Making believe you’re insulated or isolated from the outside world is unrealistic. Your not, I’m not and no one is. In case you missed it, we live in a complicated ever shrinking world connected more closely than ever. I spent the day putting my engine back together and cleaning trans part after my morning rehab session Working while Listening to talk radio and the right wing AM radio shows that hate Biden and the left. Why ? Because I like a good laugh. I watched a half hour + of Biden’s speech too last night I still ain’t skeered and got an A in current events ! Scared was when I got a draft notice in 1967 as VietNam was kicking into high gear and was increasingly in the news everyday. World events shook my world some back then but luckily I did not end up getting drafted. | |||

I don't understand why having a healthy care and concern about about the military assault and invasion of another country on my planet is being belittled or attacked. If you want to wear blinders or stick your head in the sand that's fine and your prerogative. But since the dawn of mankind there has been megalomaniacs that have desired to shape the World into their idea of what it should be. Thankfully the more mature humankind became the less we were willing to let it happen. Most recent loon (besides Putin, so far) was Hitler...Good men and women did NOT stand by and let evil triumph in the middle of the last century. And to add a possible horrific twist to present events, the very horror that ended that Global conflict is several thousand times more powerful AND available. And the fool on the hill in Washington has that little black box next to his bed as we speak. So scared? More concerned really...is that so unreasonable?? . Dave F J B | |||

Sad to see whats happening in Ukraine, we should be past this. The EU, UN and current Admin seem toothless and inept or just downright negligent. Too many unanswered questions on this. Reporting typical relay nonsense as well. That said, living there must be hell with weapons getting lobbed around. Overall a bad situation. Life goes on, we are retired and will contunue what we do. We have little individual impact on world events other than ability to vote and we will do that. | |||
