All good questions Greg. Now... do you oppose background checks to prevent a convicted felon from purchasing a gun? Do you oppose requiring private sales to be reported so bad guys can't buy guns? Do you oppose adding some mental health requirements to protect citizens. There was a young man in Florida who was committed 3 times by his parents because they knew he was a danger. 3 times he was released. He killed his mother with a knife. That OK with you? I want all of the above. Do you??? I could give a sh*t if you have 20 legal weapons and jack off on your ammo every day. How about you guys showing a little common sense and stop sucking NRA teet?
Good questions but you decided to not answer them. Instead, as expected, you push back with your agenda because you can't provide an argument refuting the facts.

You also continue to ignore what your fellow comrades are saying and proposing in legislation. New York just passed legislation that place onerous requirements on law-abiding gun owners and requires background checks for purchasing ammunition. Last I checked, ammunition is useless without a firearm. And none of these wholly un-constitutional laws would have prevented any of the mass shootings that are being used as emotional artillery to thwart the rights of law-abiding citizens.

Contrary to you, I will answer your questions.

I don't know any gun owners who oppose background checks. I do oppose any kind of registration of the guns I do own. The government, neither state or federal, have any business knowing what I own or do not own!

I do oppose requiring the reporting of private sales. The government has no authority to regulate sales between individuals. Remove the restrictions on any federal background check database so that private individuals could access it prior to making a sale. In turn, I would support legislation that would make the seller liable in the event the sale was to a felon and then used in a crime.

I have to laugh at your example of the guy in Florida because it proves the moronic nature of this debate. Good luck getting the ACLU and all your other left-wing comrades on board with some kind of program that would identify mentally ill folks in some sort of national database that would prevent gun sales to them.

Another question I have for you drag57...

Do you believe rifles like the AR-15 and magazines holding more than 10 rounds should be banned?

The Obama administration puzzled many observers by leaving its campaign infrastructure largely in place in the aftermath of President Obama’s re-election win. Now we know why. According to Stephanie Cutter, President Obama’s former deputy campaign manager on Ed Schultz’s MSNBC program:

President Obama's network across this country, grassroots individuals, who organize, volunteered with their time to get the president reelected are much more powerful than the NRA lobby. And I think that you can expect to see that network activated, very soon. And for good reason.

The five worst mass killings have a common thread. Hint #1: they don't belong to the NRA.

Ft Hood~~~ Registered Democrat ~ Muslim
Columbine ~~~ Too young to vote; both families were registered Democrats and progressive liberals
Virginia Tech ~~~ Wrote hate mail to President Bush and to his staff ~ Registered Democrat
Colorado Theater ~~~ Registered Democrat; staff worker on the Obama campaign; Occupy Wall Street participant; progressive liberal
Connecticut School Shooter- ~~~ Registered Democrat; hated Christians.

Common thread is that all of these shooters were progressive liberal Democrats.

Also, of the worst killings in the last several decades, only one was a female, all the rest were boys, barely men, and none of them had a strong male father or role model in the household. Their role models were rappers, action movies, comics and viloent video games.
Our problem isn't weapons, it's boys without boundaries. Who live in 'progressive' households.

1. You are wrong. They are protecting my right to own weapons that I choose to own.
As for you, your opinion means nothing. Why would I or anyone else on here care wheather you apporove of what I own or not?

2. As for you suspecting all those people agree with you, what exactly makes you think you are anywhere near capable of speaking for people you dont know?

3. As for the gun lobby. Do you really think you should be on a public forum saying anything bad about any lobbying group? You as an employee of the taxpayer propped up wind energy industry, are the recipient of a very large chunk of goverment handout, that has driven our economy to the brink of failure. You dont have to earn your money, the goverment hands it out to you. And that is because your industry hired some really good lobbyist. So why is it alright for you to have someone lobby for your welfare payment, but others should not be able to lobby to keep the rights granted them in the ammendments to the constitution of the United States of America?

I think the 30 round magazine issue is more about argument than it is about making anyone safer. I hear the argument at time "Why would anyone need....." Man don't ask a drag racer that!

But a line has to be somewhere. This is ok, this isn't. Should there be no restrictions? Rocket launchers? Flame throwers? If a guy can afford an Appache fully armed is that also within his right? Gernades? I would say many will have different answers for all of those. But you have to draw the line somewhere. I think we now have a president who really wants to push that line one direction. I don't agree with his views. But I don't think that I can blankly wave around the 2nd ammendment with nothing else as a defense of weapon ownership. People end up sounding like doomsday is coming with some of the arguments....but they may not be completely without merit either. What if our government falls apart, and we are left to defend ourselves?

I argue with people sharper than those here everyday. It is the NRA that has an agenda, to sell more product. And people like those on the board that on cue from the NRA take any attempt at gun regulation and run off like little girls crying their guns are in danger. Greg, how do you feel about the people on the board who say the slaughter of children at the school was done by the government or the government was pushing a gun agenda and let it happen? I'll tell you how I feel....those people are a waste of air. They are ignorant beyond belief and make adults wonder where we went wrong. America...land of the idiot. (but heavily armed)
