Are you sure the barriers are permanent? They may only be temporary. Sometimes when a project like that(very high traffic count) is bid the spec in jersey barrier to keep the workers on the other side safe.
I’m saying it is for sure but, it seam like there is quite alot of work to be done through there yet, for them to be putting up the permanent barrier??

Steve, i just always loved runnin a pro tree...in my opinion they're a blast. I realize they cant do a pro tree on a reg race day due to points and such but i assume the friday night deals would not have points involved, so i think it'd be a neat change of pace..just for fun and something different..

Kyle, I don't know about the Friday night no-box/box being pro tree, but I'm guessing not. No offense, but my preference would be for the full tree. I'm looking at these as practice for the next day's race, and I need the practice. Big Grin

Clem's is good eatin'. I'm a huge fan.

I'll agree with Chuck on 2 points,

1)Clems = Smile
2)Full Tree= Smile

Kyle, If you don't have a pretty quick leaving car, you are at a big disadvantage on a pro tree. I ran a .400 pro tree a couple of years ago, with my old digger which was a lot of fun, but it seems to me that it is much easier to adapt about any type of car to a full tree.

Dan if you were almost to the football hall of fame, you were almost to the Stark Co fairgrounds, where they have the racing swap meets, only you were about month too late.

You guys have a good Christmas

I know im in the minority on the pro tree...my car doesnt leave that hard and on a 400 yea im late but on a 500 im deadly...i love full tree too but i always have that itchy right foot that turns that red bulb on Mad...i can't do that on the pro (yea its taking the easy way out i know i know.....) and its definitely a good point that its not adaptable to all cars...which is a factor too. I also most definitely see the point about wanting a full tree all the time for practice and keeping sharp and agree with it, was just throwing the pro tree feeler out there.....

All you guys have a Merry Christmas!

I actually would be all for a pro tree on Friday nights. I had a great time running a Pro tree at Beaver Springs. Not as hard as some think. The .500 pro tree is pretty easy. For all these guys that try to tell me they leave when they see the 3rd bulb flash the .500 pro tree would be no different.

Happy Holidays to all!!!

Unfortunately, I can't. I would love to make it for that race one sometime. I have to work Monday night and I probably wouldn't be in to good of shape to wake up and drive half way across ohio on Monday morning anyways. Some year I will make it for that.

I can't either, as much as I would like to. Family obligations on holiday weekends come first. If it were January 6, I'd be there! Big Grin

But then the event would have to be renamed the "Hangover + 5 Nationals" Razz

I was on their website looking at the Hangover Nationals, is there anything other than the 20 second, heads up race?
Is that all there is?

In the story concerning the event it is mentioned that a 100% payback gambler race will also be contested if time and weather conditions permit.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

here is ryans new hammer for 2007. i finally got the parts back from the machine shop. it is a 3" bore x stock stroke blockzilla 3, including a 3 angle valve job on the intake, radius valve job on the exhaust, balancing the crank to match the 3" piston and the 4.475 rod. i still need to break it in and have to wait till the car gets back from the painters. but i was just curious and did a compression test and it hit 140 psi. so i was happy. i cant wait to hear this thing fire up.
hoping my gaged crank support is here this week too.
is it april yet Wink

Happy New Year, all. With the holidays over, I can focus on other stuff now. It's a shame we won't have the Steelers in the playoffs to make winter go faster. But, the car show is coming up, I've got work to do in the garage, and we need to pull a practice tree race together.

You out there now, T? I thought I saw you as a new member.
