I appreciate what both of you are suggesting. The 16", particularly with beadlocks, is probably the highest probability of success. Just no way I am throwing down beadlock money this season.

This big of a tire just seems like overkill for 6.80's or slower. (because nobody ever gets the bug to go faster than they originally intended). A friend goes 7.0's on a lighter hardtail car on the mt 15" 10.5 tire, small block n/a, and goes rounds. He loaned them to me for a day, and 7.10's was cake except for the finish line without a wing. Wing added this winter. I'm just a little skeptical that my heavier car with more power will be ok consistently on that 10.5 at 6.80's. I have had my eye on that 3080 MT, and just haven't pulled the trigger because I don't know of anyone running it.

I did borrow the big bubba's from another good friend last year. Got one time trial and elim's in before it rained. No shake on those either. But they are big and do slow down the car. So I was hoping to not go so big and maybe stay 15".

The Big Bubbas are overkill for what you are trying to do, for sure.

Hopefully someone will respond that has run the 3080's...….

Laughing Hard

No room, that's for sure! But I wouldn't mind having a drink with Ed.

It will be hard finding info for a car trying to go 6.80-7.0s on a 15" wheel. My car has been great on the 3080 but I'm only going 7.40s.

Not saying it can't be done. He needs to weigh the cost of possibly trying a set or two of 15" tires vs making the big investment in 16" wheels and tires.

My kids car has 997 wilson hp 598 bb3 on alcohol, ezell chassis, dual shock car, 235 inches, 4.30 gear at over 1900 lbs went 1.028 2.956 4.602 149 in Ardmore last week on the Big Bubba wont run a 6 anything 1/4 mile if you dropped it off a cliff...The BIG bubba can work with the slower car. The 16" wheel you definitely need for this to happen.

Bucky seriously consider the big or lil bubba...this is not a bandage, it's the best tire on the current market hands down whether they hold air, have poor quality or what ever our resident tech specialist says the Hoosier has lost market share on dragsters and he can't freaking stand the FACTS.

The Goodyear's are making strides with less effort than Hoosier it seems. The Goodyear's will be released this year I am told once the plant reopens.

Point taken Torqin. The 15" guys aren't exactly lining up to tell their experience.

when i quit running 15s it didnt seem there was a tire that fit my needs ,i had to use timing to control shake.tire tech has changed for sure.finding a tire in a 16 is no problem, many good choices.with the 16 its easy to get more tire than you need for peak performance.i do know where there is a set of goodyear tires for sale not run.(bubba look alike). i use hoosiers c1500 lol

agree with the little and big Bubba. I won a lot on whose your daddy's but when I switched to Mickey's, it was game on. I dont give 2 craps that I have to put a scissor jack under the car between races, the car on race day is capable of winning anytime im ready to be a good driver lol I made like 200 runs in 2018 and I don't think the car moved a full 5 hundredths the entire season to the 1/8 and won almost every single race. You couldn't pay me enough to put whose your's back on my car currently
