This will be the quickest and least expensive way to pick up .200. Like I said in a earlier post, I went from mid 4.70s to low 4.50s with a 200 shot turned on early for 2 secs in a 565 dragster with a Rons terminator and never changed the converter. I will say it did not do much other than raise the RPM and blow thru the converter when I tried using it to drive the stripe, but turning it on at like .300 and off just past the shift it made a huge difference without a converter swap, your results may vary Big Grin

So ya got a buddy with a under powered over tire'd 5 flat dragster who turns on the spray 3 tenths out, and you think this somehow equates to what you have going on 700 lbs heavier, short wheel base comparatively speaking?

It's gonna be no wonder if you never win a drag race.

That's called wishful thinking, is what that's called.

Ya wanna be competitive, I told ya how to do it.

Any Tom, Dyck or Harry can pickup a couple tenths spraying 200, that's not the issue at hand.

The issue is being a BMF to be reckoned with, off the trailer.

It's a bracket race, top sportsman race, not a hey look at me race, I picked up two tenths spraying.

You were agreeing with a good way to burn fuel on the way to the track for no good reason, as I pointed out.

I've talked to ya on the phone a few times and you've mentioned getting in these races a couple times. I don't blame ya, it's some of the coolest doorslammer racing there is. But you won't do anything good, turning it on 3 tenths out, ya might even run someone over. You'll damn sure burn fuel on the way to the track for nothing.

Switch'n converters for a race is childs play, it's nothing to it.

If you do put a nitrous kit on it, you'll incorporate it into your n/a bracket racing as an overide with your n/a converter, now that approach with the current converter will do something to turn on win lights.

Funny that it's done everyday and I'm planning on doing the same thing to run the 4.70 outlaw stuff.
Doesn't take much and you don't have to swap converters to do it.

This is the easiest thing to do, I was going to recommend that as well. I presume the motor plate is behind the strut? There should be plenty of room to move it forward.

If you don't want to do that an alky on alky plate will do wonders for what you want.
In a 2035LB suspended dragster with a 582 :
4.88 to 4.65 on a 100hp shot pulling 2 degrees
then 150hp took it to 4.59 pulling 3 degrees,
then 200hp to 4.53 with 4 degrees
then 250hp only went to 4.51, running through the convertor at that point.

Deja vue, the OP wasn’t happy with his last engine and wanted more power while refusing to run gas, that’s why he got this engine and now it isn’t good enough. Roll Eyes

That said, the OP’s engine was built by Phil Oakley, that’s he should be asking, not seeking opinions here. My opinion is he ain’t going to find a Tenth and a half with this combo without spending thousands and countless hours swapping parts and testing. Time to sell this one and start over.

Ed, your partially correct. With a single alky carb you 100% correct. I have same heads from Oakley on my engine and my engine runs with the q16 version 90% of the year. Only time the gas get WAY faster is when its mine shaft air

My nx plate did same thing until i leaned the fuel jet out 10 sizes, then it actually picked up .1

I didn't follow the fuel mappings that come with it as the plug and the volume to N20 should be different. Those mappings are really over safe and for people that don't know how to read plugs.
We ran out of convertor with the 250 shot, I have done it with tighter convertors and kept picking up. We typically use it for finish line driving where the tune up is "QUITE HOT", its mean, LOL.

.15 easy. Well with injection anyway. Just dump 15 to 20% load of nitro in tank and if stall doesn't go to high you will be good.LOL

Just joke guys and not really expecting it to be taken serious, but now days you have to have a disclaimer for every thing.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

Flashes about 6400 drops to 6500 on the shift. Marco would like to see it flash close to 6600 but doubt there is more than a hundy or 2 in that.
