One topic on this site that wasn't controversial but that is now done because of personal attacks made.
Not needed on this topic!

The posters involved should be ashamed of theirselves. Grow up & Post your crapp elsewhere please.

RPR, hope all goes well for you! Went through an act of nature situation years ago. You never know what's coming your way until it's there. Best of luck

Fern, keep on keeping on! I kinda doubt I'll make it racing at your age or still breathing! I love your attitude about everything you post here.

J178, Glad you had a good time at Firebird! It's always nice to race in front of a crowd, there were probably more people in the stands for ET first round then any .90 class at NHRA national event.

In closing, go put your personal attacks somewhere else! They are not needed here! Ok?

See, Know you want to engage me, which I have no want to. I come to look around. Same old stuff though.

Keep this Thread going without bashing.

No problem with you, but this thread is not the place. I'm younger than most that post on this thread. I'm starting to turn into the "Get Off My Lawn" type but it's not needed here.

This thread was just to update and have fun. It wasn't to attack people, there's plenty of those threads to choose. Don't turn it into one.

That's all

That sounds what the thread should be.

That being said, Down here in the desert southwest we are on the edge of that huge storm. We are getting High winds all day about 25 mph steady and gust up to 45 mph. Our normal monsoon moisture out of the golf make it in tonight but only a 50% chance.

The first critical decision of the day with all the rain, the dog wants to go outside, it's that or pee on the new carpet. Papa ain't getting wet, I'm walking the dog around the garage. Mama ain't happy.

Good evening everyone. Hope everyone is staying safe and dry out west with the storm. Been through a bunch of tropical storms and hurricanes in southeastern NC over my half decade of life and one thing is for sure,,, they have bad attitudes. They hear the predictions of the forecasters and then change direction, wind speeds and rainfall amounts frequently. Stay safe out there kids.

I went to Rockingham for the CCRA/CCMP/Big John Memorial Bracket race Saturday. I didn't count them, but I heard someone say around 55-60 class cars. A whole lot of bracket cars. Had 5 Modified Production cars show up. Got a few videos, but haven't put them on the computer yet, so I'll try to post them later. I got together with a friend who's pretty darn sharp with fast clutch cars. Looking like sometime in October, possibly sooner, I'll be taking my 68 Camaro superstocker to him to get it back into racing shape again. It's been parked since 2015. I may be pulling the trailer from the back yard to the driveway this coming Saturday to clean it up and make sure it's road ready for the trip to his shop.

Fern, it was good to meet you and visit with you for a bit yesterday. I saw your win light come on in those first 3 rounds. Had to head home about the time the sun started going down. Hope your Sunday has been going well and your turning the win light on some more. That's a good hotrod you have there.

Time to get my mess together for another 50+ hour work week in the ridiculous heat. I hear it's going to be 2-3 degrees cooler every day as opposed to last week. Y'all stay cool, dry and safe out there...

Be safe out there on the West Coast!

Pets do put another issue with what you're going through. Hope you all are safe.

Nature can be nasty. Everyone stay safe.

BTR69 nice visit---I had 5 win lights and no buy backs. It was hot but I had a really good time. Hey I am now 82 years old and if I get to go let alone light a win light or 2 I am grateful. It will be better there when Jim Howard gets rid of all the already planned events and gets his own system and people in place. That structure this past weekends was horrible. First or second round buybacks and, I think, paid only 8 places in foot brake and 16 in Top. Whole lot of people left there with nothing. What made it worse was the purse and the guaranteed pay out at Roxboro. Many were up there for this very reason. I came to the Rock because it is less than 50 miles and to see some friends. I had a good time.

Finally enjoying the sunshine this afternoon. Our area survived the hurricanes path better than what was predicted.

I hope all is well with everyone, especially the members in Hilary's path!

Hilary did very little damage, brief periods of hard rain and light wind. Our area had a few fallen trees mostly tall eucalyptus trees that have basically no root base. I've experienced harder rain over my life-time and most of that was when I lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida. These California folks don't know what a hurricane is, they need to spend some time in Florida during hurricane season.

Bob, I'm really glad to hear you didn't have any issues. Living in Cali is enough without natural disasters added on top.

A Hurricane Party in California consists of one Corona and one rolled taco. In Florida a Hurricane Party only needs three things, a large refrigerator, filled with beer and five or more pizzas.

Glad you guys made out relatively unscathed!

Had a few hurricane parties on the East Coast. I myself made it through ok but many others, not so much. Water over your countertop is a bad thing. Uncle now has 13 steps to get to the first floor. He was where Sandy connected the Atlantic Ocean and the Barneget Bay breached. His boat got land locked after the water subsided.

Nothing compared to the situation in Hawaii though. Sad to what happened there.

I'm close to a wildfire in Atco/Wharton forest that's happening now. They're doing back fires now to keep it contained. No one in danger as of now. No winds today should help. 1200+ acres so far.

When I was briefly stationed at Fort Dix back in the 60's my wife and I lived outside Mount Holley. She called me to say that the house was on fire, by the time I got home the place was up in flames. The Fire Department did all they could but it was a total loss. My respect for fires could not be higher, the LaHaina fire is an example of real terror. We had a wet weekend, they had a disaster. My wife was raised in Hawaii we have spent a great deal of time in LaHaina. I can not imagine the loss our memories are of generous caring people.

All good and glad you're here!
It's Mount Holly though,no E! Lol

Fire in NJ seems to be contained. It was close to the ex Atco Dragway. I'm a mile from track but probably 2 miles from the fire. The fire was less then a mile from the track. The forest service seem to have a good handle on it. Luckily the winds are low.

All the homes close are heavily wooded properties. Could be bad since there are no fire hydrants. Winds would could wipe my neighborhood out.
All old growth trees.

A small disclaimer here: Fern is a few days older. Sorry about the added "E", occupational hazard.
