Hey Nick,

I hear they are having some heavy rain issues in your state. Are you having any issues?

Howdy all.
Thinking Karen, Ashley, and Bob today. 12 years since Nikki passed.

Doing good here. Finally got all the little things taken care of on the '81, and made 2 hits at test and tune a couple of weeks ago, varied 2 thou in the 1/8th. I'm looking forward to Saturday and hoping for some success.

More drama. Turns out the shaft in the alternator was bent helping the fan belts to fly off of the new alternator. Got another one, everything on it is metric so got all new metric mounting bolts. got it together and then the pulley was for a .031 belt. Removed the pulley from an old one laying around and put it on the new alternator. Looked good but the belt still did not sit down well in the crank pulley. Had to figure out what belt application would work, 88 Olds air pump. Found one of them and installed it this morning. Runs true and sits right down in both pulleys. Life goes on. Going to mow some yard now!

Fern your having Belt trauma, it’s always something ! Heck I ordered some slicks in June from two different vendors, and on last Sunday one tire came . I tracked the other and was delivered Monday at 8:30 am . I had woke up at 5:30am that Monday and second set on website showed not shipped so I called to cancel and they said already shipped. So now I have 4 new shoes dated late week of July. Second vendor said they will take them back if I ship to them on my dime ! It’s a big dime ,My cost $181 …haha

Weather

Have gotten 13” of rain in the last 6 weeks , it’s thundering as I type ! LOL

HAVE THEY CALLED US YET ? THEY HAVE!!!

Floyd, I always have good intention to, but, you know what they say about good intentions. Hope you're doing well out there in CA with buddy. You starving? Haven't seen a steak pic in a while!

Fern, man, I hope that's of the little things flaring up at you, on the race car at least. As for the lawn mower, you're on your own there. Big Grin

Nick, is that a record out there? Is stuff growing like crazy? I still wish these storms we get - especially on race days - we could send west to help put out the fires. When do you race next?

Good afternoon, Hope everybody’s well. Chuck Yep all the plants are getting out of control. We have four days with no rain per weather people. Bugs are out-of-control too. I keep thinking to send you some photos of all the cacti blooms. Next race September 4 and fifth big two day event. It’s been since June since I’ve been to the track , so it’s gonna be fun. New shoes and rebuilt tranny. September October and November are so jammed up with five divisionals and a national open. Plus tracks are trying To finish points races and get ready for ET finals. i’m thinking about going to Vegas for Thanksgiving race but that’s so far off I’m not worried about it right now.

Probably nobody cares on here but if you look at the pro entries at Brainerd they are way down. I guess if pro stock isn't running the other pros don't want to run either. Entries look like it's a sportsman event, not a national.

Well I finally got to the track with my old car and it seems to be fixed. I went to a pretty good little track in South Carolina where it was really hot and humid but lots of old friends. First hit it went a 6.70 and next 4 were from 6.63 to 6.00 at 102--103MPH. I lost in the 4th and never bought back but was extremely happy that the car FINALLY worked like it is supposed to. Next stop BRISTOL for Labor day.
Floyd I know lots of people and only know one that races the NHRA thing. He is in SG. Pro in this part of the country is a bracket class. Those fires out there bothering you?

Hey Fern,

Nah, the fires are way north of us. The way our weather is going right now seems like fall.

How come such a big spread in et's? 6.60 to 6.00 seems like a lot in the 1/8th. Was the weather that bad?

Thats supposed to be a 6.60.
I try to support local business but awhile back I needed a starter for my mower, local guy wants $183. I took the number off the starter and came home and got it delivered to my door for $37. Today I go in there looking for this belt no one can find. Turns out Huskvarna has a new number for it no one made me aware of. I need it so I buy it. $65 so when I get home I look it up on Amazon using the number on the belt and it is $32 delivered, so I check Ebay and it is $24 delivered. So much for that outfit.

I use mostly Amazon. Ebay once in a while but not very often. They don't support their sellers and have cost me money in the past.
I need a new folding windshield for my UTV. I can only find it on Ebay. That's where I got the first one but they don't last forever.

Hey Fern,

This is probably not the first time I'll bet. LOL!
I sold some portraits on Ebay. I plainly said no returns, no refunds. Guy got them and changed his mind. Ebay shipped them back to me and I had to pay freight both ways and they gave him his money back. I will buy on Ebay but I won't sell and I don't use paypal.
I use OfferUp or FB Marketplace to sell. And, local pickup, cash only.
Y'all have a gooden!

Life goes on. Wind blew a big limb off of one of the big trees in the front yard. Its gone now to the brush pile. While I was at it I trimmed back the brush along one side of my yard. It was 80 when I started and 93 when I stopped. My clothes including shoes were soaked with sweat. It was 10:30am when I stopped. Getting to old for this. Later

Yeah Fern,

You're getting too old for this crap. I'm lucky, I've got a JoseA and JoseB that do mine and I have no problem paying them to take care of it.
I don't even own a lawn mower anymore. I gave it to a young neighbor.
Y'all have a gooden Going to be ho5 again today.

Good luck getting Jose A or B out here in the sticks to do anything. These red necks don't welcome them with open arms. Would be nice to not have to worry about it. Guess when I can't do it any more I'll move to town and dodge the bullets. Called a guy to mow at the town house yesterday but never got a call back. 95 degrees might be a deterrent. Getting ready for Bristol next week and hope it cools down some. Later
