Mornin' all! TGIF! I hope you all are about as ready as you can be for the Christmas weekend. I have it easy - show up and eat. It's a tough job, but I'll do it without complaints. Big Grin Back half of next week, when my brother and his family come in, we'll have the kids spoiled pretty good. I'm still trying to work the details out to get the car home, but I'm really hoping Monday's forecast holds, high 50s. I can do it all in 1 day, get it home and pull the trans.

J, new sneakers are always good.

Mike is keeping in good spirits. Just checked FB, and he posted a pic of wheelchairs, says he's getting in the lanes for the Wheelchair Nationals.

Ice cream time again, or candy cane time. Or pie. Christmas cookies. Put 'em all together. It's part of the good stuff. You all have a great weekend.

Mornin Y'all!
Happy Christmas Eve Day! It's cold and very wet. Been raining all night. Hope it stops, we still go a little running around to do. Gotta go see Mother and take her some new tennys and some deviled eggs. I'd take her some tamales but they are a little spicey for her 95 year old stomach and I don't think the nurses would appreciate it.
Y'all have a gooden. We'll be back a little later. Praying Angel hug rainy

It takes time Fern. Well, and keeping busy. But time eventually heals....but we never forget. It's been a couple years now since we lost Dad. I think of him every day, and Mom is really still adjusting. But every month seems a bit better.

Kids who grow up with most everything they want are hard to shop for indeed. We are older parents, and my son really needs nothing. He wants a smart phone since he is the only 7th grader in his school who doesn't have one. Sorry Charlie. The flip phone is all you need. I snagged a good used jr engine for his car a few months ago. He told me that covers Christmas and whatever else. He will get some little stuff Christmas day anyhow. I don't know why he doesn't carry the attitude that a lot of other kids seem to with entitlement. I think he knows Grandpa is watching and wouldn't approve.

He made me proud yesterday. Supermarket worker dropped a case of yogurts, and they scattered everywhere. Kid jumps in and has half of them gathered up and picked up before the worker knew what happened. Wished him a Merry Christmas and back to shopping.

Mornin Y'all! Merry Christmas! Christmas
Brrr, it's cold out here. We don't have any snow but there is ice on the roof and I think there's frost on the pumpkin.
Fern, us widowers just have to keep busy and make the holidays not so lonely. Went to my boys house last night for his dinner with all his inlaws and this morning going to breakfast at my daughters house and then go spend some time with my mother at my brothers house. My boy fixed the prime rib I got them for Christmas last night so I probably won't do mine today. Maybe I will wait till New Years day to do it. That's the day I really need to be active cause it will be the 16th anniversary of Dianes passing and it's always tough. New Years eve I will stay home and away from all the amateur drunks out on the road.
Y'all have a gooden and enjoy a beautiful day. Praying Angel hug Christmas 2

Got over to my brothers yesterday and my niece fixed an incredible dinner. We had appetisers, prime rib, lobster which I grilled, steamed crab legs and a couple of great sides. I'm not going to eat for a while.
It's cold out here again.

Hey Guys Good Morning, Had a real quite Christmas with my favorite person, oh and the dog too... had a little gift exchange, some great food (I did most the cooking, LOL), had a couple long walks, and a few drinks in front of the fire. A real Norman Rockwell deal , then Monday got myself ready for this weekend's Hangover Event. I found only one thing that may stop me, THE WEATHER.... 20% chance on Friday, 50% on Saturday, and 70% Sunday. We May dodge one day but really hard to miss all three. They have no real backup plan so this could be a pretty sad outcome. Not a big deal to me, but really hard on the promoters...

Chuck, did you watch that Pittsburg game? Could have sworn I heard someone screaming in my house ..... LOL

Everyone have a Great Day..... Double Thumbs up

Evenin' all! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Spent Christmas Eve at Phipps Conservatory with my dad, sister, and her kids, then dad and I went and had dinner. Mom was finishing up baking, and didn't want to deal with the crowd. Over to my aunt and uncle's for Christmas dinner, good to see cousins and my aunts.

Floyd, that's awesome, the time with your family. You all know how to lay out the spread, it sounds like!

Bucky, sounds like you have a great kid there. Hopefully we get to cross paths along the way.

Fern, I hope you got to work on the car. I couldn't get everything lined up to get my car home, but while it was warm yesterday, started it up, went through a couple heat cycles.

1258, I hope your girls had a great time.

J, sounds like a good way to spend Christmas. Weather people are wrong all the time, and there is time for the forecast to improve. I hope it works out for you. Yes, I'm a Steelers fan, but it was secondary for me on Sunday, after the family. Some of my cousins and their spouses, well, that may have been them you heard. Exciting game, for sure. Funny video, pretty typical for Steeler fans:

Pittsburgh Dad - Steelers vs Ravens

You all have a good night!

Morning everyone and Fern I'm so sorry I ain't been in sooner to tell you how sorry I am about mom it's been a rough Christmas here also but losing a loved one is really tough I've been thinking a lot about you and saying prayers.

I read back a couple of pages and will get back up to speed soon, been selling stuff on a couple local bid sites for about 8 months now making some extra money to help supplement my disability check which is small anyway I'm coming back as much as possible to the GM Diner as much as I can.

And Scott and Nicole really out did themselves getting me a scooter to get around on looks like the rest of my days will be spent in a wheelchair because of my weak bones going to be hard to work artificial legs anymore but any things possible I'm not worried to much about be wheelchair bound atleast I can get around and not hurt and not be at risk of falling anyway check out the post that Scott put up about me needing help and check out my new scooter he has pics and I made a video thanks to you all for your thoughts and prayers and for anyone that helped with this Drag Racers are a awesome family that will be there for you no matter what happens.

Well I'll hush this morning and try to stop in more often y'all have a great day and Chuck thank you for keeping folks informed about me you're the best, sweet tea for everyone.

Alright its The last Thursday of 2016!! Good Morning to you All!!! Wow this year went by in the blink of an eye...I find if I keep having to look forward to the next big event time seems to slow down a little . This weekends event looks to be a bust, as a promoter the weather can be a big pain in the A$$. All that work gone as the rain falls..

You guys have A Great Day ....

Mornin Y'all!
Hey Mike, Hey Fern, we got rain coming out here. Hope it's a warm rain. We don't hAVE cold anywhere near what you guys have but it's more than cold enough for me and Buddy. I got a bit of the crud that creeped up on me so I'm staying in and down trying to get rid of it. I had my flu shot so I think it's just a cold.
I think I have finally decided to pull the plug and retire. I've been working for 61 years and I'm not having the fun at my job like I used to. I'll just do like Fern and work on my race truck and spend time with the family and friends. Buddy is going to get tired of looking at me everyday.
Y'all have a gooden. Praying Angel hug

Good Morning to all! Floyd no time like the present to start collecting, you have worked for a lot of years and deserve a break. Wish you would come out to Tucson In mid February for the Southwest Showdown that Chris Forsyth has put together. Here's a link;

http://www.dragraceresults.com...wn_at_Tucson_Dragway

Well mother nature is trying her best to stop this weekends Hangover Event. But it seems the track is moving forward today with TNT. I have so much history if we race on Saturday I'll go straight into run for the money with my dial....

I want to wish everyone here a Happy New Year to you and everyone close to you, may the new year bring you more joy and more racing.... Party Wave Double Thumbs up Party

Floyd I retired on my 60th birthday and have never regretted it once. Be 16 years first of April. Yes Fern will be 76 years old. OK folks I went in the garage this morning looked around and went to work. Oil and water drained and everything on top is loose. Now to craw under and unhook the rest of it. Won't be long now---if the mood moves me. You all have a good one

Mornin Y'all!
I would say Happy New Year but with some reservations.
Seventeen years ago last week my beloved Diane and I went to Mexico with Super Chevy Carl Cole and his wife. They had never been and we thought it would be fun to go together. We had a great several days, Carl bought a whole lot of stuff, and we came home on New Years eve day. The next day was the Hangovers at old Palnmale Raceway so my boy and I decided to go. Diane said it was too cold so she was going to stay home and watch the parades. We got done early so we headed home. I tried to call her about 4:00 and didn't get an answer. Got home and found her comotose on the bathroom floor. Called the paramedics and they rushed right out. They were wonderful. Rushed her to the hospital and they discovered she had had an enbulism rupture and was suffering cerebral hemmoraging. It was unrepairable. I lost her Jan. 1, 2000. That was the way I started the new millineum. That was the worst day of my life.
With the support of my family and friends I am still going strong 17 years later. We had planned on retiring at 65 but she didn't make it that far. I'll be 75 in March so I guess I will join the blue hairs at the early bird specials. Fern, I will look for you at the buffet.
Y'all have a gooden and thank you for reading my tale. Praying Angel hug New Year

Happy New Year to everyone. My parents gave me some early birthday gifts before they go down to Florida for a month. One of them was a new G-Force helmet in Matte Black which looks so badass. Apparently my old one was expired.

Hope everyone is doing well. I was sad to see PSU lose last night in the Rose Bowl. Great game.
