Guy was a good one....you know I lived in Tucson, Mesa, and Queen Creek Ariz years ago. Me & Guy had some stories about the old Bee Line Dragway and Davis Monthan AFB back in the 60s......My friend was 1 month younger than me when he won the Bracket finals 2 years ago. But we are lucky to get this old and still 1/2 way function. Got me another Saturn today Big Grin

We met Guy at the ET Finals in Vegas in the late 90's and formed a friendship. I have 2 kids in the Phoenix area so I got to see him once in a while.

Mornin' all! Happy New Year! I hope you all had a good time over Christmas and New Year's. We do it twice, Christmas dinner over my aunt and uncle's, seeing them, cousins, and friends, then do it at my parents when my brother and his family come in for New Year's. Slept a lot, ate a lot, slept some more, so it was a fine week. Big Grin Rode with my buddy the day after Christmas, he was checking out a car and bought it. He hasn't raced himself in the last 4-5 years, getting his boy set up, and now will be back in.

Nice to see some more folks stopping in, Bob and LittleRiver. Bob, we're going down to single digits tonight, with a wind taking it lower. Feel warmer now? Big Grin

1258, I don't care either way, but Chip Kelly seemed like an idiot to me. The QB swap was decent, but that was about it. Glad to hear you have the engine in the wagon. I hope the rest of it all goes together good for you.

Fern, sorry about the Saturn, but I'm glad everyone is ok. Sorry to hear your better half isn't doing well.

Mike, Steelers looked past the Ravens, but got the help they needed from the Bills and Clowns. They need to tighten up on defense and Ben needs to get out of this slump he's in if they want to make a run at the title.

Floyd, love seeing the good memories. That's the good stuff.

J, how did you do in the truck?

You all have a great day!

Chuck if it was not for bad luck lately I wouldn't have any......But I savor the small bit of good luck. Mama has been good the last 2 days so that is a +. Big Mike I went to Ft Chriswell and got another Saturn Sat. If I would have had more time I would have come through Cana---At least I thought of you. Drained old transmission in a pan and promptly knocked it over spilling a mess on the garage floor.....no motor yet so I'll clean it up later. You all be good hear Wink

Mornin' all! Damn cold out there this morning, somewhere around 8 degrees. At least there was no wind, like when I left work yesterday. I think this feels even colder because it's been so warm. There hasn't been a step down like normal, from 40s to 30s to 20s to less. It went from 50 to bbbrrrrr.

Fern, I hope your luck changes. Good to hear it's been a good 2 days for your wife. I do that kind of thing, kicking the tranny fluid over, all the time.

1258, I hope so. Someday I'd like to see a Steelers - Eagles Super Bowl. With a Steelers win, of course. Big Grin

You all have a great day!

Good Morning to all... Had a long walk in the rain this morning.... Been trying to dry out...LOL ... Looks like 2016 is coming at us hard...

Fern, glad to hear no one got hurt! Hope your Saturn treats you good....

Chuck, I skipped the New Years race , went and did a little visiting with my better half , drove out to the track just in time to see a couple of hits.... Been working to get the car done, but I'm 3 weeks behind with many races coming up.... I'm thinking to put the car in race ready condition , only take 4 or 5 hours to make a few races....it will look kind of ratty but will be able to earn so points ....
never raced without a hood and that will be a new experience... being able to see better...

Camaroracer , that weather sound down right ugly. Did you make some progress on firing that 383 ?......

Mike , hope your doing well , your going to have to change title of thread soon .... 11,000
is come up very soon LOL.....

Floyd, hope you are keeping dry this week , looks to be a wet willy.......

Every body have Great Day ..... Double Thumbs up

Chuck that would be badass to see but I doubt we will. Not going to lie.

RED, car is getting real close. My dad wants to try and start it up on Saturday. Wants somebody else there when it happens. He found a new toy and brought it home, so he wants to get my car out.

New toy, rolling chassis. Not sure if he wants to go through mess of being faster than 10.0 but liked how easy it was to drop in ZZ572 last engine. This time wouldn't run on alcohol though.

Mornin' all, over center day. Still adusting to being back in the real world, after the holidays and being off. I could really go for a nap. Sleep

J, I'm thinking you'll like running without the hood. Warming my car up one day, driving around the pits, I forgot to put the hood pins back in, and it went up and over. The car was really consistent then, but it printed slips with the hood off.

1258, you're probably right. Did your dad find a first gen Camaro? Pump gas is the way to go! Big Grin

You all have a great day!

Good Morning !! How we all going !! LOL..... This morning no clock was working and my phones alarm did not go off (dead 0% charged) so I got up and was on my way out ,started the truck time shows 4:18 AM.......

Camaroracer, I hate when you lose your parking spot.... But the new toy looks very cool.. mine could go 9s but I really don't want all that extra cost being NHRA, so 10 teens is for me!!!

Chuck , First race this year a Wild Horse Pass I'll be doubling up running S/Pro and S/ST...
My only problem will be getting enough heat in the motor with out the hood. Being on alkyl my temp at stage must be 170 or hotter, if below that the car runs .01 or .02 slow. And getting it hot without and air bleed is fun, with the water pump off I'll drive and idle for 15 min. just to get to 140.... LOL my radiator is from 1800 Honda with a capacity of less than a gallon. So with the hood off and the weather to be in the 60s I'm working to get an air bleed going.... You know Its always something new...

Mike, hope your doing good. Keep moving "a rolling stone gathers no moss" .

Fern , did you get that mess of oil cleaned up? Hope your gathering all your pieces and moving forward on all your new stuff....

Floyd , watch out here comes more of that rain...

Everyone have a Great Day... Double Thumbs up

Ok--cleaned up the trans oil yesterday morning and promptly went in the other side of the garage and poured the contents of the radiator on the wrecked Saturn on the floor Mad Getting good at making a liquid mess.....Fern was never a mechanic and in a senior moment decided to get a Saturn with a blown motor and put the good one out of the wreck in it. Stand by for this mess to get real cute Confused Mama was doing good last night for a change made me feel good. You young guys need to watch out for us seniors on here---Mike you goin to the Farm banquet?

Chuck, the car on the trailer is now his. Guy was running a 5 speed.

RED, that's what I'm trying to convince my dad to do. There's so much more needed to run faster than 9s and really what's the benefit at that point.

Afternoon y'all!
It rained a good deal of yesterday and quit about the time I went home. It just started up again and we are supposed to get it for the rest of the day. We had a little shaker this morning so it must of knocked a rain cloud off it's mooring. If it wasn't so damn cold I could handle it better.
Y'all have a gooden. Praying Angel hug

Afternoon, all! Got some sunshine out there today, and a little warmer, hitting the low 40s. Pretty toasty for Pittsburgh in January.

J, a couple of my buddies on alky bought something to warm up the water, to help build and hold heat. Mark will probably pop in and say what it is. I can't remember the exact name, but he got it at Tractor Supply.

Fern, I'm good for spilling stuff everywhere. My first engine build, my best friend and I built ours together at the same time, so he could teach me. We get the blocks back from the machine shop, and I'm wiping the cylinders down with oil. As I'm getting into the job, I don't realize that I've dropped my other hand low, and was spilling the bottle of oil all over the floor. Red Face I have a bunch of those kind of stories. Multiple 25 lb bag purchases of clean up clay!

1258, I'll have to check the pic out from home. I didn't realize it was there. Looks like you'll have a good week to be in San Diego. On this side of the state at least, looks like winter is back to normal next week.

Floyd, is the rain making a difference in refilling resevoirs, lakes, etc?

You all have a great day!

Afternoon Y'all!
It quit raining for a while but it's coming in again this evening. And it's colder that kraut. Looks like Buddy and I are going to have a quiet few days inside with the heaters turned on. Glad I own stock in a couple of liquid natural gas companies. Maybe I'll get a little of my money back.
Y'all have a gooden. Praying Angel hug

Lower Radiator hose heater, mine was 1 3/4" helps a good bit getting it warm...but helps a TON keeping it warm round to round.
