Good evening everyone. Hey Chuck congratulations, it was a great weekend for Oldsmobubbles. We raced at Infineon Sunday & Monday, went out third round on Sunday and runner-upped on Monday. Our buddy and Mark's mentor Ron "The Hammer" Nichols won the summit race on Sunday, E Gas on Sunday and then beat Mark in the finals on Monday in his 65 Oldsmobubble. We were the only olds at the track and we were the last two standing.
Had a great time with all of our friends and winning money made it even sweeter. Mark is still #1 in the points, has held that position from the first race, hopefully that's the way the season will end.
Everyone else sounds like they had a good weekend. Boy Floyd I know how that wind can be in Vegas. It was windy and cold at Infineon, it felt like winter instead of spring, but a few adult beverages kept us all warm on Sunday night.
Wave Mike, Michelle, W.A., Mouse, Christine and my other DRR Friends.
Prayers and hugs to you all. hug Praying
Susie

oh wow Susie, too cool on the "oldsmobubble"---we had one cream with brown cloth roof about an 81, I think, but it was Madi's, Rick took her to preschool every morning & she dubbed it her 'oldsmobubble', a guy kept wanting to buy it & we were, well, car poor like Mike lol, so for some crazy reason we convinced her to let us sell it & buy her a trampoline, so if you ask her she'll tell you all about it & her trampoline she still has..she cried when it left Frown huge congrats to you guys, you'll keep that points lead!! sorry about the wind Floyd hug & that you don't get to take Chewy with you on those trips, sorry about the knee Dennis hope it gets better quick, sounds like you had fun too Allen, love making great memories. Hope Mom feels better Mike & chin up--let us know if we can do anything!
So proud of you still Chuck, my pal...
We went up & took pics, cooked out & played at the Falls in Independence Va, Rick said to tell you guys we were in Hawaii Big Grin but I didn't think you could drive there?!?!

Mornin' all! Over center day, even on the short week, woo hoo! Since I'm using Guy's old line, it reminds me to remind you all to check out Jami's thread, that she's going to run Guy's car. That is awesome, and I hope she knocks the competition out. And today is my youngest niece's birthday. Happy 1st birthday, Lilly!

Floyd, sorry to hear that. Our quiet little church mouse Christine is definitely one of those people you have to experience in person. Big Grin

Susie, I saw Mark's thread, that was way cool! It was a great weekend for Oldsmobubbles! Except for the 2 I beat this weekend. Big Grin I hope Mark keeps that lead all year.

Mouse, sorry to hear that about the knee. I hope the doc has some news or relief for you.

Hi Mike! Sure is hot, supposed to ease off up here though for the next couple days. It wears me down too.

Thanks Michelle! Still feels good, but I'm focusing on Saturday now. I'd like to repeat! Big Grin Great pics! Didja get your entry in for the WFC? You too Mike! Preentry to save $100 ends tonight! Just sayin'... Big Grin

Amen.

You know I think you may be right, I have several little bug bites below my knees...the bugs love me! Do you guys know if bats eat all the biting bugs, mosquitos, etc...I've always noticed if we go to a race I get eat alive but not at home & we have thousands of bats living in an old chimney close to our house that come out every evening, do you think that's why?

Prayers all around, think we are going to the MOoresville pro am this wknd...have I mentioned lately how much I love hot rod?? lol I didn't enter Chuck, but I may just come visit you guys even if I ain't 'footin', hug to all & esp to you Floyd (I'm lost on your fb comment, you'll have to message me)

have a great day gang!

Good morning everyone.
Michelle, to answer your question. If you have bats close by, that's absolutely why you don't have any bugs at home. I haven't done it yet, but i want to put up a bat house, so i can have a few of them here to get rid of some the bugs and mosquitos.
Welp, i hope everyone has a great day.
See y'all later.

Mornin Y'all!
Looks like our Fontucky track is goin to be down for a while. Some sort of noise issue. It's built on the grounds of a old steel mill and right in the middle of scrap metal recyclers operations. Selective noise I guess.
Somebody sent me a picture from the tower @ Vegas last weekend.

Y'all have a gooden. hug michelle

Thanks, Michelle hug
Good luck this weekend, chop the tree down and bring home the money.
Guess I'll put the old hay hauler up on the stands, it don't look like I'll be racing for a while. The next Heritage Race in Fontana is cancelled and the one after that isn't till late in July. They cancelled the rest of our Summit Series so it don't look like I get to go to the finals. Bummer. Mad
Mornin, Mike, get up and get at em.

Mornin' all! TGIF!! Yesterday here was about as perfect a weather day as it gets, in my book. Low 70s, sunny, no humidity, completely comfortable, just gorgeous. Today is a touch warmer, and I'm hoping the rain tomorrow misses the track.

Michelle, go get 'em!! I prefer to think the bugs like me because I'm so sweet. Big Grin I love bats. At PRP, with the tall light standards attracting all the bugs, you can see the bats flit through, and hear them.

Here's a real life funny for you... a few years ago, after racing on Sunday of Labor Day weekend, we went back to my friends' house for a bonfire. My friend Renee was getting bit up by bugs too, so I said "I got Off in the car, want some?" I did not realize how this was sounding to others. They cracked up, and laughed harder because I didn't get why they were laughing. So my buddy says, "What did you say?" And I said, "I told Renee, I got Off in my car, in case she wanted any." More laughs, and I'm still clueless. In my mind, I'm seeing the can of bug spray, and not making any connection to anything else. "Think about each word, Chuck." "Ok... I.. got.. Off (still thinking can of bug spray)... in my car..." I still get teased about it to this day.

Hi Mike! Wave Hope the dentist visit was a good one! And I hope the headers come soon, so you can maybe calm the Mad Mater down.

WAO, I don't know how you make it through that heat. I'd burst into flame.

Floyd, that's a bummer about your schedule. That's why I hate to hear of any track anywhere closing. It can happen anywhere, and we need as many as we can keep open.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Ice Cream Ice Cream

Mornin' all! Monday Monday... meh.

Yeah, little birdie Michelle is right, I won Saturday night, 2 straight wins, never did that before in my class. This one was not from the buyback lane, so I racked up some points, too. Must be the power of the DRR shirt. Big Grin I'll have to wait til I get home to post some pics from the last couple of weeks. What's really cool, in my mind, is that the 455 in the Cutlass was in Karen's car when she raced, and has been worked on by Bob and Mark. That's special to me.

Hi Mike! Wave I hope you survived the heat. Looks like it's warming up this way too this week before it goes back down.

Michelle, you're close still! Don't make me threaten you! Big Grin

Asking for prayers for my uncle and buddy please. He's dealt with post traumatic stress from combat as a Marine in Vietnam since he came back. He's now been diagnosed with disassociative amnesia, an offshoot of the PTS.
