Well to begin with more than a mile smarter than Obama and Hillary Clinton. He cut a deal with Carrier that insured more than 1000 jobs would stay in America. To quote one Italian Godfather "He made Carrier an offered they couldn't refuse". The deal was that if they moved their production plant off shore he would impose a 35% tariff on their goods, basically making them uncompetitive in the market place. As a second option, as President he could cancel all their contracts with the Federal Government, and that would have been a huge chunk of business. I can foresee him using the same tactic with other US Companies that are considering moving off shore. He said he would make America Strong Again, it's evident he is a man of his word.
Obama had the same ability but refused, indicating he meant to allow US Companies to move off shore, taking jobs away from Americans. On January 20th The Adults will be in charge!

I'm not. Too many have died fighting under that flag, or lived.
I'm not ok with it. It seems that you can burn a flag, and not a cross. Both inflammatory acts. Both indefensible IMO. But....the supreme court has ruled that it is protected under free speech. I don't have to agree with it. It's their call. If we can get some decent thinking individuals onto the SC, we may see some of those rulings go a different direction. I think that comparing Trump expressing his opinion to him burning the Bill of Rights is inaccurate. The man is entitled to his opinions and he can express them. That doesn't make them law. And that doesn't make him wrong.

| It appears the cost of building a wall at the border has dropped significantly. It was learned that 60 million democrats **** a brick on the morning after the election, reducing the cost of materials.

This is missing a few facts ,like them getting huge tax break and still moving the jobs to Mexico that they really wanted too. Plus the money they have to spend on this factory will go to automation to elimnate more jobs! |

| Hoping to add a few facts.
If this plan saves 1,100 jobs consider what the total financial impact is on the community. If they got a $7 million tax credit what was the financial impact on the entire community, including all the small businesses in that community. How many will now be able to continue making their house payments, car payments and continue to fund their children's education? How much money is saved from paying out unemployment funds.
Add up the total sum of what keeping 1,000 jobs does for everyone, not just the paycheck of those 1,100 employees.
I would gladly trade $7,000,000 of if it saved $50,000,000.

I hate incentivising companies to do the right thing. Because they will eventually all hold you hostage to the same treatment. However, a win is a win. And saving half of those jobs was a big win. That was all but a done deal and Trump pulled it back from the cliff. There is still some loss. And yes of course automation is going to be implemented just like in every industry. And that automation will take trained people to run and skilled people to fix and salesmen to sell and other factories to manufacture. As long as some effort is being made to stem the tide of outsourcing, it is still at least a partial win for our country. So many people have simply accepted that outsourcing is the way it works, and it really doesn't bother them......until it affects them. Exporting our manufacturing jobs is economically unsustainable. You can't export your jobs, and export your money unfettered without eventually running out of both!

| Crony Capitalism at it's zenith! The POS rino Nevada Governor got the legislature in session to ram through a bill promising faraday, a chink financed proposed auto manufacturer, the moon! While this was happening the CONSERVATIVE Nevada treasurer was raising the alarm that this was not a feasible venture! As it stands now some preliminary grading work has been done at the site, contractors are owed millions and no work is being done currently, construction to be resumed at a LATER date! The POS rino Governor claims it hasn't cost the state anything to date, BUT WE SHALL SEE!!!!!

And that is exactly the position you end up finding yourself in when walking down that slippery slope. Now there are questions of integrity and who was pulling for who. This case by case BS ends up unfair to EVERYONE. If you give one construction company an incentive to stay in town, then all the others end up at a disadvantage. Until they either go under or demand the same treatment. So we end up using taxpayer money to give to companies to keep them here. This isn't protectionism or good economics....eventually it is simple blackmail. Our local county development group convinced the county to give Wal Mart tax breaks to build a distribution center with a guarantee written in that a certain level of job growth would accompany the move. March 10 years forward to the end of the agreement. Now, after 10 years of never meeting the guarantee, and never paying anything for property tax, they want to renegotiate extending the period of no taxes. They have the county by the short hair, as of course they don't want to lose the jobs they did bring. And Walmart is known for walking away from buildings to avoid taxes. So they will continue to freeload indefinitely like a millennial liberal. LOL. No offence to any liberal millennials of course.
