Have fun at the show Fern. I live an hour away and have only been to that show once, think in 2013. Was pretty daggum impressive though. Would like to go again, but something always takes a higher priority.

Floyd, stay warm n dry out there. Glad we don't stay cold for long here in SE NC. I ain't built for that garbage. Guess my blood is too thin?

Hope the rest of y'all are doing well out there.

Got a few decent days of work in this week. Lots to do this weekend. Moving more equipment from the old house to the new'ish one. Gotta get on top of the shop and find out which skylight is leaky and seal it up as well. On top of that, somewhere along the weekend, I need to find time to replace the leaky steering rack in my 05 Ram. If it ain't one thing, it's another. Y'all have a great weekend.

Well it was a short day at the ballpark for our daughter tournament. Three games back to back and no wins. The upside is, being only an hour drive from home we are there and back home well before the bad weather here overnight. Everyone in the storms path y’all stay safe.

BT the show was all of that and more. Around 4000 vehicles of all types. I walked it for 2 days, 6 hours one day and 5 the next. Drove in the rain all the way home, 4 hours. Something in the fuel system on my RV ruptured and covered our Smart car toad with diesel fuel. Lucky it didn't catch fire and burn the whole mess to the ground. Also somewhere along the way we lost the lower rear panel off of the Smart. Don't know how but it is gone.
I am getting ready to go to the race at Farmington this weekend but it all depends on getting the RV fixed. Fortunately my friend owns a diesel shop and they are coming this afternoon to deal with that. I got my new slicks on the car yesterday and got it down off the jacks. It still runs so I'll load it on the Featherlite open trailer today and put it in the garage so I am ready. Weather has been great last couple of days. Everyone stay safe.

Damm Fern,,, you're giving that smart car hell aren't ya? Glad it wasn't worse. If a problem like that is going to happen, better for it to happen to the smart car, opposed to the race car, in my opinion. Good luck at The Farm.

Good morning. Motor home is fixed, car is loaded and ready. I used 16 gal going to the beach and 66 coming home because of the leak. Race was put back a day because of weather so I'll be leaving this morning. Foot brake only, no buttons. (MAYBE) $10k each day for $300, can't miss that. Weather looks great. Everyone stay safe

Good luck Fern. Have a safe trip. I have my first outing this Saturday. Made a lot of changes to the car and will be rolling into time trials as test sessions. LOL

You all didn't give me enough luck--I won 1 round in 2 days. Mostly my fault but first day 60 lost .2 each hit. Once I wasn't in the groove so there is that and next hit lousy burnout + being pulled back to wait for a car that wouldn't start. All said and done I just had a good time in spite of my short comings. This was a foot brake only race for $10k each day + tons of round prizes, free drawing stuff, long distance award, etc and I thought a well run race. Only complaint I heard was about a Tesla running foot brake as its supposed to be a foot brake class. I never saw it run. More on that later. My car ran good except it has a pro brake in the trans and the button quit so I couldn't back up. Didn't cause a problem racing but could have. Saw a ton of people I haven't seen in a long time--to many to mention. They had around 180 entries and indicated they will do it next year. Foot brakers pay attention as $300 for 2 $10k races is pretty darn good. Time for lunch. Everyone have a good day and stay safe.

Sounds like a great race Fern. Sorry you had issues.

I wasn't even sure my car would go straight but ended up having a good day and the car worked better than expected with all the changes I made over the winter.

I was a little rusty myself. -.003, -.010, .004 1st round, .026 2nd, then ran out of talent -.003 3rd. LOL Had a good day and gives me a little confidence heading into this weekend's race. $1200, $2000, $2000 Saturday and Sunday are regular points races with doubled payout.

William, I hope the move is going well. I HATE moving. We have so many kids I have move someone about every other year since they started moving out. Have one to do in April this year. I'm getting too old for that nonsense. hahahaha

Good evening y'all. Bone dry around here. NC and SC are currently under mandatory burn bans. Supposed to rain tonight/tomorrow though. Maybe I can burn my yard debris this week. Went to Coastal Plains for the Classic Gear Jammers race yesterday. Think they had about 40 stick shift hotrods there, along with the regular bracket race. 2 wrecks. Quick door car, (bracket car), got squirrely and went head on into the wall at the stripe. Driver appeared ok, but definitely rung his bell. Later, one of the stick cars, a beautiful 67 Camaro Super Stocker, flattened the driver side against the wall. I heard it broke a ball joint and sent him over. Love them stick cars.

Curtis, this move has been a disaster, with the exception of me getting a nice 40X40 shop with it. Having 3 different outfits in and out of our crawlspace, seems someone was responsible enough to leave the 2 access door open last week, and wouldn't ya know, squirrels made a playpen under there. The guy doing the encapsulation had recently lined the entire floor/walls with plastic and foam boards. some were damaged and he found droppings. He put a trap inside, which caught one, well kinda one. only found its head. Unfortunately, when he put traps in, and closed the door, something else larger may have been in there without him knowing it. Next day, door was knocked down and there was squirrel bits all over the place. Some plastic lining was damaged. Trap was moved further under and only had the head of the dead guy left inside, LOL. He sent me a picture for my wife's scrapbook. We moved one daughter in with grandbaby already and the other daughter moves in with us next month. Hopefully by then, things will have settled down.

Floyd, hope the new roof is keeping y'all dry.

Fern, Hope you're doing well and got to turn on some win lights somewhere over the weekend.

Have a great week...

No racing for me. Was supposed to rain but didn't so we were helping our friend with her move to Greensboro. I got back home a few min ago and discovered that I had left my phone in Durham. Peace till I go get it tomorrow. Then get ready to travel to Baltimore to face that drama up there with the storm damage repairs etc. Not looking forward to that mess. Glad you got to go to a race William. Go out and get wet Floyd. Western NC got huricaned bad 6 month ago and is now burning, can't get a break. Every one stay safe.

Fern, I hope you only had to carry the pillows. LOL

William, that's quite a circus you have going on under there.

I was supposed to race Fri thru Sunday. Had a problem Fri, was still in. Got water in a cylinder Sat. was still in. I can't catch a break on the race car in the last year.

Wooley, the car was flat nasty until. Frown

Starting late April last year I broke an axle plus rack and pinion on the same pass. Finally get back together in June from that and go test. Lose a trunnion bearing on a rocker arm. Pull engine apart to find all the bearings. Back together and out in July, race through the end of the year and last race I get water in #8. This year water again in #7. Different block, head and brand of gasket. Stop This isn't fun any more. hahahaha.

Floyd we got some rain also Saturday night which we needed, after having wild fires all over.

Curtis, I know that’s not fun at all. Im almost but not really ready to swap with you. I sold my car in March of 21. I had a car I had been wanting to build. Over a year later I was able to get it into the chassis shop. He’s a friend of mine and got it done in 8 months. Already had an engine and transmission, so should be a quick finish. Nope, thirty year old poly pipe plumbing in the walls at home started leaking so I’m still working on that. Got one bathroom to finish and then another to rip the walls out of to fix. Thank goodness the kitchen/ laundry room got done in a renovation a few years back. I haven’t touch new car in a year now. Fern best of luck with your situation. Everyone else y’all take care.

Thanks Wooley. Fern don't worry and I don't stress either. It will all work out and lets hope life keeps going on. Tomorrow I will be 84 and Floyd is right behind me. Life is and has been good. Everyone stay safe. By the way I went back 15 pages here and it said I had the same number of posts that I have today -- 6334. Sometimes life don't go on!

Happy belated birthday. Fern,
Mine was the 26th, my groomers was the 28th and Diane's was the 28th.
My family took me out to dinner and I had the biggest hunk of prime rib I have ever seen. I got 3 meals out of it. The Sycamore Inn was happy to see all 11 of us. It's become a yearly tradition.
