Keep in touch Chuck as Fern has one in the car, a new one on the stand, and an aluminum rod version in the works. And I am getting older every day and racing less it seems. + I think I have a block or 2 laying around. Oh and a 425. I am planning on going to the IHRA deal at Wilkesboro this weekend. Car is ready I think. I even washed the motor home. Life is good. You all take care.

Hey guys have been busy overall and no time to come in. Hope everyone is doing well. First possibility of the index racing not getting rained out, but will be 90 and humid. Yuck.

Mornin' all! Over center day! Temps are going to be heating up here Friday for a few days, getting into the 90s this weekend. Good weekend to be in the tower and babble on the mic.

Fern, I have a line on a block here, but need crank and rods for sure, pistons too, though depending on what I come up with for crank and rods I might get new ones. Good luck this weekend at the Spectacular.

1258, same weather over here. Do you change shift points for weather, to hit the index? I have no doubt you're a busy man about now!

You all have a great day!

Loading today Chuck. All the drama I have been through with this car lately they should give me the race. Might be fixed now I hope. Had to take it to the Olds guru up in Virginia Sunday for a 2 day going over to fix something we could not fix or find down here. Anyway heading to Wilksboro tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing well---invite your friends to DRR, we would like to see them......

Chuck I do have that possibility but don't feel comfortable doing it since it's still on the column and it's too sloppy.

Good Morning ..... sounds like we have a crew getting ready to race. I'm above ground and that's number one in my book, next race here is a makeup race at Wild horse Pass. This will lock in top 5 and who's going for to ET Finals. I'll just be going to stir it up and try to take the money home, as ET finals are not in my book this year.

Chuck, found no bad ladder bar heim joints , rear end problems. I'm going to get new one's just because...LOL

Fern , have a great time hope you go a bunch of rounds.

1258, Index racing is my favorite from of bracket racing...... Good luck , By the way how is your dad doing this year , hope he is winning...

You all Have A Great Day...

He's gone out a few times this year messing with some new stuff. Put in a new camshaft recently in the crate motor. Just needs to get back in the swing of learning the car.

Fern won the first gamblers here at the IHRA race last night. Car was deadly thanks to Danny Lattimore’s engine. It is hot here in Wilksboro, NC. Later

Mornin' all! TGIF! Hitting a stretch of warm days, high 80s today, 90s into the 4th. I might run the car tonight, just for a little practice, then work the mic tomorrow and Sunday.

Fern, that's awesome, congrats!! Good start to the weekend, hope it continues for you. What was the fix?

1258, do you leave it in drive?

Nick, green side of the grass is always good. Sometimes new parts just cure things, even when the old parts were fine.

You all have a great weekend. Get your ice cream down before it melts.
Relaxing

Well 12.50 index didn't work out as well as I had hoped. Some guy brought his newer camaro (normally races a dragster) and decided to put me in my place having a .022 package on me. I was sleeping on the tree and that didn't help.

Chuck, I was doing my timeshots and was going to be a sitting duck in first round being about a tenth and a half off. My dad gets there right before I run first round. Said why not try the column shifter, what do you have to lose. So I tried it and it went smooth and the car basically picked up 3 tenths. Ran one of its best times to date in the HOT weather.

I think if there had been more cars I would have caught it but by the time I realized what had happened it was to late for me----there is a difference between buy backs and reentry. On the flyer it was reentry and in reality it turned out to be buy backs and I don't think the division director knew the difference.....

Happy 4th everyone, the day we declared our independence from England. Today is my oldest daughters birthday so everyone will celebrate that with us to.....I think she is 52. Man how time flies. The day she was born I was at the old Bee Line dragstrip near Phoenix racing. Anyone surprised? Up this morning at 6 and removed 2 trees from the front yard before it got hot. Everyone have a good day and keep cool

Het Fern, my boy turned 52 may 29th. I've got 3 behind him, 50, 48, 46. At least we don't have to worry about what time they get home now. If they've got this far the rest is on them. Have a greatday.

Happy Independence Day all! Still on the warm stretch, in the 90s again today. Got my walking in before the heat really kicked in, but still soaked my tshirt. The humidity wears on me pretty good. Looks like a real nice weekend when this breaks.

Fern, that is really disappointing to hear. I think buybacks and reentry are 2 different things as well, and it's frustrating when the race isn't run as to what the flyer states. Happy birthday to your daughter. Are you going to Bristol? I have to miss it, for a wedding.

1258, no shame in dropping to a .022 pack. Yeah, it's possible to beat, but if you're .022 RT and dead on with a 2, you're still out. Glad you tried the shift, now you know what you have to work with some more.

Floyd, making me jealous, only have a window unit in the bedroom, so I can sleep at night. I crack one of these big races, I'm putting a chunk into the central air fund! Big Grin

Nick, I hope you're doing ok out there. Don't burst into flame!

You all have a great holiday, and be safe!

Floyd on the 2 year plan. I took a 10 year break and now they are 42, 41, and 39, I think!

Chuck no Bristol as bad as I would like to be there. Last few years I have had a family deal that I can't get permission to miss on the same weekend.
