Mornin Y'all!
My grandson just joined the Army. Wow have things changed in 50 years. He's getting a 5K signing bonus and 20K after 4 months of AIT in systems analysis. He signed for 4 years and 40 weeks which seems strange but what do I know. I'm proud of him for getting off his lazy a$$ and finally doing something. He's going to love Camp LaJeune.
Y'all have a gooden. Praying Angel hug

Mornin' all! I hope you all had a great weekend. My oldest niece graduated from Pitt, so family was in, all except my youngest sister. Dinner on Saturday, followed by the Pirate game, where my sister's oldest daughter was playing the national anthem with her school band. Graduation yesterday, good stuff. I'm a proud uncle.

Good, Fern, glad that worked out for you.

J, got 'em, I like it.

Floyd, that's awesome of your grandson. I hope he takes to it like a duck to water.

You all have a great day!

Floyd last time I checked Camp Lejeune was a Marine base???? Ferndale spent some time there 57-58 years ago. Weren't no such thing as politically correct back then. They would break your ribs with a rifle butt in a second. I got nothing for enlisting and $72 a month. You are right times have changed but the free health care at the VA makes up for some of it I guess. Double Thumbs up

Hey guys. Weather was decent enough for the day on Saturday at Cecil. Car is going to be fun. Was not turning the numbers I expected and the MPH seems kind of low for the ET. Number 1258.

Might have the base wrong. It's in N. CAROLINA. Six weeks there then four months at a air force base for AIT.

Mornin' all! Looks like a little cooler day today, but dry. That's not necessarily a good thing, with Arrietta pitching here against the Pirates tonight. At least the Pens won last night.

1258, I'll have to check your pic from home, PB pics don't show for me here. Did the car run good overall?

You all have a great day!

I had it all screwed up. My grandson is doing basic training at Ft Jackson and AIT at Goodfellow AFB. I never was very good at biology. Lewis and Clark would have been in deep sh$t if I had of been leading.

Mornin' all! Over center day! Ready to stick pins in the Mother Nature voodoo doll, looking like she wants to make herself known this weekend. Wish she would have rained the Pirate game out last night. Arrietta is just unstoppable right now. Hoping the Pens stay on their roll tonight.

LOL Floyd, I see what you did there. Big Grin

Fern, that's the good stuff, funnin' each other. I know I give plenty of opportunity to be picked on. Glad to hear your better half is maintaining. Thank you for the compliment. I have seen what you mean.

Mike, we need some more sweet tea in here! And biscuits!

You all have a great day!

Fern, there is a on going water problem in all of the Southwest. All golf courses use affluent water , recycled waste water. We in Tucson have a small portion of the Colorado river by way of a canal that is then pumped under ground. This is to help under ground aquifer not drop at an accelerated rate. They are putting in a multi million dollar system in now so we can wash in piss water... Cant wait!!! Arizona is not a real smart place , we get 75% of your rain in three months, the monsoons.... But the government does nothing to capture this water, it runs straight out of the county to near by waste land... I have been told the amount of water that runs off is 60% of the county use in any one year.... My water bill in my home 2 bath 1890sq ft. with only myself and wife , no pool, all desert landscaping averages $140.00 a month. $80. is for the water cost, $40.00 is a waste water fee and $20.00 in state and county tax's.....6 years ago the bill was in the mid $40.00 range.... In the next 5 years the same amount of water is projected to be a bill of $300.00 .... Yet the Power company's all have programs giving away small trees so that you can place close the your home for shade, "cost saving" .... LOL

See what you started Fern..... LOL Off topic No No Rolling crying bow

Glad drag racing doesn't use water..... IT would be banned....

Left Tucson in 1959 for DC area. Missed it and moved back to Mesa in 66 couldn't support ourselves on the wages out there and moved back to MD.....to me there was no greater place to be as a teenager than Tucson. Not many places you can snow ski in the morning and swim in the back yard pool in the afternoon----and cruise Speedway at night. My MD place has 2 houses on the same meter and is around $50 ever 3 months and its supposed to be some of the best water in the US. Here in NC I have a well and it has good water. Public water here is so bad I wouldn't let my dog drink it. red they be watchin you alls water box Eyes

Fern, Along time ago some racers would bring their own water to the box..... Remember this guy.... His name was Donnie Anderson... LOL

Mornin' all! Liquid sunshine day, grey skies, makes me want to take a nap, especially after being up late to watch the Pens win in OT. That took some sting away from the Pirates not showing up against the Cubs the whole series.

J, I wish we could send this out your way. The engineering piece of all that is interesting. The cost is not. We're good here unless the rivers start running dry. I'd hate to be the next car after that wagon on the link!

Fern, public water here for the most part is good. I like to let it sit out for a while, let the chlorine dissipate, then fill water bottles. Tastes a heckuva lot better.

You all have a great day!
