Good Morning Guys... Wind blowing hard in SoCa steady at 16 MPH gust to 22.... Reports from Vegas say it about the same.. Should make the Million even more of a challenge...

Chuck, Good luck and have a great time...

Camaroracer, we have a guy with 64 wagon with and LS doing the same... Drives straight to tech then to the lanes, 11.50 player in Pro...

I'll be driving to Wild Horse Pass to double in S/P and S/ST Saturday..... Going to have a low car count in S/P as a lot of the regulars are at the Fling. I'll need some win lights as I missed a event already , low car count means less rounds and that will be my battle this weekend....

Have a Great Weekend , Ice Cream is on my list of things to do..... Ice Cream

Morning all. Good weekend of getting stuff done around the house outside. I Think I figured out what's going on with wagon. Between the new rear and converter which were drastic changes, the car in drive is shifting to second and third in no time. The stall on the converter is on the higher side for a street converter, but it wasn't too bad. Now to pick some time testing.

Mornin Y'all!
It's summer all ready. supposed to be 90* today so I better get to the store before it's too warm for Buddy to go. Never take my fur Buddy if it"s over 80*.
Good job Fern, it's always nice to hit the pay window, or so I've heard.
Michelle did good at Zmax. Double breakout in the final and she was a little more. She'll get it next week at the national.
Y'all have a gooden. Praying Angel hug

Afternoon, all! What a gorgeous weekend, hope you all had good weather too. I'm still tracking down a miss/pop in the Cutlass, but it was running consistent still. Lost a tough one in the second round of the gamblers race, both .013, I knocked 5mph out and about .03, took it by .010, under by .009. As Jared said, I was mathematicall ELIGIBLE, but not by much... I had .001 to get in on. My guy was dead on with a zero.

J, how did you do? What kind of '64 wagon? I love wagons.

Fern, nice to be in the money. Where did you go? Glad the Olds is working good for you. Let's both get some Ws!

1258, I hear you on the open and keeping it simple. I highly suggest manual valve body. I drove mine 60 miles round trip, not a pain to shift. More fun actually!

Floyd, I saw that for Michelle too. .009 stripe was a bad number this weekend in this crew. Frown

You all have a great day!

Chuck, I still have the column shifter and plan on staying that route. My dad's good friend who used to work for Bill Jenkins when he was around, said that it might be the kickdown cable and that could be causing the early shifts too.

Mornin' all! Over center day! Beautiful stretch of weather, again today, makes me want to take a mental health day. At least there is a chili cook off at work to look forward to, going to have some fun with that.

1258, man, you want to do it the hard way! Big Grin I'd look at the modulator first, see if adjustment gets you anything.

You all have a great day!

Haha yes definitely the hard way. Did all modulators come as adjustable from the factory or no?

Chuck don't make fun of the column shift---I remember ED Talbert in the final for the SSS national championship a few years back with a column shifted Chevelle. But if I was 1258 you can get a good ATI glide for less than $1500 and be done with it.

Once you go glide you will not go back.....

Chuck, last Saturday I was lucky to leave the track with my car. There was a problem with the left lane and my rear end wanted to finish the race first... LOL Did not hurt the car but my .012 light could not help me, the dragster in the right lane had an amazing .155 light and he won.... I was to busy trying not to crash... Eyes crying Eyes

I know how you feel red, if I shift the hay hauler at 6600 it will spin the tires goin into third gear and the back end gets all twitche and I get a big pucker moment. I just lift. I want to put it in the trailer the same way it came out.
We are still having amazing weather out here, Hope it stays all through the weekend. We are having a 95th birthday party for my mother this weekend. I'll try to remember to get some pictures.

Fern, I will actually be leaving the car in drive and not trying to shift it on the column. I'm not quite sure how streetable a glide is either. This car has to travel at least 20ish miles one way to the track, make passes and come home.

1258 when my daughter who is now 50 was 16 I built her a 69 Camaro for everyday use that had a manual shift power glide in it. She drove it for years......but I understand what you are doing and you should be able to sort it out pretty easy. Where are you Big Mike? Took Mama to the ER yesterday morning for breathing problem. Don't know from what but she seemed pretty good last night. You all have a good day.

It's definitely something to consider down the road Fern.

I will be testing the car next weekend at Cecil on Saturday which is just a normal test and tune. Should be able to make a handful of passes before 11am.

I've got a buddy, Super Chevy Carl Cole, that runs a 55 Chevy with a turbo 400 that has the column shift I think and he always leaves it in drive. He sets his throttle linkage to run 12:00 plus. He does not want to put any bars in his 55. I think he has 3 maybe 4 Super Chevy wins. Roger Gustin was the one that hung Super Chevy Carl on him. His 55 use to be in all the ads, red and white 2 door post. If you ever saw a Super Chevy ad you saw his car.

Afternoon, all! Clouding up a little today, supposed to get some liquid sunshine into tomorrow. Racing looks good for Saturday.

1258, I am no expert there, but I believe they did? Take the line off and adjust with an allen? I have heard you can set up a fully automatic to be very consistent. I've just always manually shifted, even before the manual valve body. The manual valve body went in the same time as the converter, so it really made a difference in consistency. And I like 3 speeds. Slow heavy street cars need them!

J, that's scary. Someone leave something? Friend of mine wasn't so lucky Saturday. Well, he was, he walked away without a scratch. But his car is totaled. I know it's much better to have your car, but still hurts knowing you had .14x advantage, and don't advance.

Floyd, I hope you get the great weather, and have an awesome time with your mom and family. I can picture that '55, very cool.

Fern, sorry to hear, glad she's doing better.

You all have a great day!

Good Evening or Good Morning ....LOL Work, work , and more work. That's what's all I got going on for this weekend. The weather is warm about upper 80's , not bad if your in the shade... Almost went to Fontana for a S/ST race but lost my ambition after last Saturday, I never been so out of control.....

Chuck , that wagon was a 1964 Malibu , looking stock as a rock.......really don't know much as the track is not taking. All we know is the drag strip was being used as a straight away for a road races. The track failed to open at 5 pm as road racers have not finished their event. By the time they opened they started prepping the track and had JRs call right at 7 pm. All my hits in time trials were in right, which was awesome with fast 60s. Left was good at the 60s but 800 ft. out it was just not good. No big deal for me, as I refuse to play the chasing points deal. Don't get me wrong I love to go rounds, but would rather go home with the car in the same condition as I left with,,,,

Fern , I hope her condition keeps improving. Prayers sent..... Praying

Mike, what' going on???

Carmaroracer , I had a good friend with a 61 Impala convertible white with blue interior and Cragers all around , 348 with a PG on the column. It was 1969 and what a great cruiser, the car was deadly at the track. Slow but deadly, a set of homemade fender well headers a couple tricks on the stock carb..... What a fun time, footbraking big time....

Everyone have a Great weekend.... OK I'm leaving work now looking for some Rocky Road to go.... Ice Cream
