BUT, could you listen to the goofy left-wing drivel all day long??????????????????? Now the queer muslim liar and the congress are going to determine our war strategy, THE HELL WITH THE MILITARY COMMANDERS!!!!!!!! We're getting closer to peanut jimmy time every day, now the huffington post has instituted a "misery index" ala peanut jimmy days! Believe it or not, some in the ultra left-wing moron media, the queer muslim liar's official cheerleaders, are openly questioning the queer muslim liar's ability to lead and govern now! This is indeed going to be more fun than watching a barrel full of monkeys, even with the consequences being as dire as they are! OH, now nazi nancy is going to enact a value added tax, is this just going to be on people making over $250,000.00 a year???????????????? It will be instructive to see how the leftists declare this is NOT a tax increase!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE IT TO THE BANK!!!!! Later, Bill Koski

[QUOTE]Originally posted by Bill Koski: BUT, could you listen to the goofy left-wing drivel all day long??????????????????? [QUOTE] Dang Bill!! LOL...We would likely have some very interesting conversations to say the least... I used to work with a warrant officer (originally from Californication)we would argue constantly about politics although we would do whatever we could to help each other to be successful. He was unaccompanied and took an early retirement back to El Paso where he had left his wife and family to continue his education to be a registered nurse. He!! of a good guy but very misguided.. I think as long as BD and I stayed away from conversations about Bush we would get along fine.. This is a sad day for American family farmers. Today, the House passed Produce Traceability Initiative and House Bill 2749, Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 by a vote of 283 to 142. The nanny State will now be able to control every piece of food consumers eat, down to the garlic that was used to make the garlic salt in our cupboards. What's worse, not only will the Government be able to control what we eat, they now have complete control over what farmers grow and who we can sell our products to. The days of farmers markets, CSAs, and market gardens are long gone. Forever lost, thanks to the progressive fascists in Congress, is the ability of rural people to barter between ourselves for goods and services. We too, will be monitored by the Government to make sure our food is safe. I'm not worried. I'm straight up terrified. This is the same sort of nefarious legislation used by Stalin to seize control of Russia's food supply L8R, Mike

The House leadership threw small-scale sustainable agriculture under the agribusiness bus. The bill requires that family farmers electronically trace every piece of produce that leaves their farm—every tomato, every onion, every pound of green beans. The expense is expected to be astronomical, with agribusiness technology companies poised to make a killing from the new legislation. Companies like FoodLogiQ are positioning themselves leaders in a new field called "traceability." These companies manufacture the expensive electronic equipment the Government will make mandatory for every market gardener and small-scale farmer. Every farmer must purchase an item label that can be read by a special hand-held reader. But before an individual farm can get a Government-approved item label, the Government nannies have to check up on them, because, apparently, the nanny State believes consumers are just too stupid to make judgments about where their food comes from. Isn't that nice? Pelosi and crew want to protect consumers and secure the food supply. Really? Then why don't they pass legislation aimed at the worst offenders in the food industry? http://www.linkedin.com/news?v...DlV&trk=news_discuss L8R, Mike

Actually the bill passed July 30. It has been lauded by several grower associations and farm associations. The Senate has NOT acted on this bill and the last action was it was referred to committee for more study. I found a blog from which your post seemed to be paraphrased from Mike. _____________________________ Wes Scott

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is prepared to accept some Taliban involvement in Afghanistan's political future and will determine how many more U.S. troops to send to the war based only on keeping al-Qaida at bay, a senior administration official said Thursday. The sharpened focus by Obama's team on fighting al-Qaida above all other goals, while downgrading the emphasis on the Taliban, comes in the midst of an intensely debated administration review of the increasingly unpopular war. http://www.google.com/hostedne...0eV_qZefmRQD9B75LL01 Obama should go and speak with them without preconditions.

Obama, liberals split on security and media issues WASHINGTON — New cracks are opening in the relationship between President Barack Obama and his liberal allies in Congress over his desire to continue Bush-era tactics against terrorism and his opposition to protecting reporters from revealing their sources in national security cases. Some supporters are grousing that Obama, just like President George W. Bush, is too willing to cite national security as a reason for invading Americans' privacy and restricting their right to know what the government is doing. In recent weeks, the administration has asked Congress to extend key provisions of the USA Patriot Act that expire at year's end, sections that allow roving wiretaps on multiple phones, seizing of business records and a never-used authority to spy on non-Americans suspected of being terrorists even though they have no known connection to a recognized terrorist group. Liberals have expressed a willingness to continue those practices, but they also are demanding restrictions on government surveillance and seizures and an increase in congressional scrutiny of government operations.
