It is an interesting question. FDR's WTC gave my state a lot of parks with stone walls and buildings, a lot of hand labor. Those people (WTC)were rural and could work with their hands and were willing to move for work. Only 2.5% of U.S. households moved out of state last year. Today a typical "shovel ready" job would be a $50 million bridge that might employ 30 people. I don't think we are capable of gov't created jobs today that actually make something. There is no easy answer. We can't continue to thrive as a nation exporting only derivatives and the like. We have to relearn to make things.

Today, for every laborer out building a project like the WPA or CCC, it would take 4 or 5 minority people sitting in an office to oversee the paperwork, then they would have to hire a white guy to straighten the paper work out.

Hines Park in Michigan was a WPA project.

Since our illustrious leader ran on “CHANGE” and I believe a reversal of some or most of the policies/programs our government has implemented in the past would likely put us on a path to what this country once was. Here is a little joke I just received:

We used to enforce LEGAL citizenship... Politicians changed that.

We used to have affordable food & gas prices.... Politicians changed that,
too... and one could go on and on with this list.

What hasn't been changed, politicians are promising to changed that as well, if you will elect them.

When, oh when, is America going to sit back with open eyes and look at
what we once were and where we have come and say, enough is enough?

The trouble is, America 's youthful voters today don't know of the great
America that existed forty and fifty years ago.
They see the world as if it has always existed, as it is now.

When will we wake up? Tomorrow may be too late. When will America realize...
Politicians are what is wrong with America ? This goes for BOTH parties...
Republicans and Democrats, there is no difference anymore... they all do
only what they can to be re-elected, not what is best for the citizens!

What is needed is for the constitution to be amended to limit all Senators
and Representatives to TWO terms in office like the President.

Oh, by the way, no big pension either, social security just like the rest of us.

Being a politician shouldn't be a person‘s life work but rather a call to
