Congrats on your racing success at the Strip. Getting old sucks and she is 10 years younger than me. Thanks for all you Gus encouragement. Later

Fern, I sure hope she gets better soon. When my wife is sick I worry a great deal. I would much rather it was me.

Good evening y'all. Fern, glad to hear things are looking up for Mrs Fern... Keep up the good work with getting her back to normal.

Brian, I read your posts about the race last week. You're one busy dude over there it sounds. Would be fun to look over your shoulder and hear you talking your strategy at the track I bet. I've never been that great at holding numbers, so I rarely hit the brakes until I pass the finish line. Been reasonably good at that I suppose. The car I'm going to be running once it's race ready is far different than the bracket cars I've driven before, so there's a big learning curve ahead for me.

Fired the car up again a couple days ago to go over a few things. After about a minute, the safety chain rattled loose on my bay door and it crashed down. 14ft high had some momentum. Smashed my home made shop exhaust that I had run out the doorway and tossed the chain off the door assembly. Got that fixed and back to fun time with the car. Engine sounds great, but timing light is jumping around a bit. Need to find my other lights to make sure it's not the cause. Have 3 more, but one proved itself useless and dead. I'll find the others this week I hope. Granddaughter came out and told me the car is too loud. I smiled and gave her thumbs up, LOL. May get time with it again tomorrow.

Hope all y'all are doing well out there.

BTR,

I thank-you for posting & bumping down that blubbering BS thread "Morals question (non drag race)"!

Yes, I'm busier than a one-legged man in an a.s.s kicking contest!

About my 1st 20 years of bracket racing, I was an honest dialer. Around 2010 after watching different hitters kill ET & MPH in time runs. I figured out they were testing for bracket eliminations from watching them implement that testing in elimination rounds.

I decided I needed to learn this technique/strategy & it pretty much became an obsession that I still hang onto till this day. When I 1st started holding, I was a stripe hog & lost a good many rounds by being a hog. I eventually realized I needed to be able to give up the stripe also. IMO, I think the most important part is being able to kill what you are holding. I think I covered the basics, but a lot of practice is also needed. I'm sure I missed some things or forgot, my age is slowly killing my memory.

Good to hear your getting some work done on the race car! Hope you're able to make it to the track this year.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Mama is making progress--she sent me out here to the country to check on things ( give me a break I guess). After I got kicked out of the drug store I needed a break I guess. Been kicked out of a few bars but a drug store?, never. Anyway progress is being made. Everyone be safe.

Careful over there Fern. I'm spending all my $$$ on race car go fast goodies. Don't think I have much left for bail money... Glad to read that she's getting better.

Found an oil leak today. Gonna be fun if I have to drop the pan. Center link runs through the middle of it. Leak appears to be inside the crossover. Bit of a bummer. But hey, car still runs, so I'm still closer to making a pass. Forecast shows good chance of rainouts this week for work. May get to spend more quality time in the shop this week.

Y'all have a great evening.

Floyd those days are over. William your money is better spent on your car not a grouchy old man. I don't know what happened down there but they called mama and told her they didn't want me back in there. Oh well. She is doing well but has a sore throat. Thanks for every ones concern. Raining and cold here today so I'll stay inside, maybe. Everyone stay safe

New shop is up but I’m tapped out for a bit! HMMMM

Had a dam squirrel get into the shop overnight. Had to get in while doors were open. Made a mess of the insulation trying to get out. Open door could not find him. Went to the house and grabbed Tucker the little F’er. Brindle Chihuahua , he found it in the John Deere mower! Long story short … the Hawks in the back acres loved me!

What a day!

Fern, I'm glad your wife is getting better.

We had over 5" of rain last weekend at my house. We were fortunate that we hadn't had much in the last couple months before that.

BP, the squirrel in my shop is usually me. Welder

Fired up my wife's '71 Ford F-100 for the first time yesterday. Glad we have the internet, I had no idea the distributor turned the wrong way. Laughing Hard It was her deceased brother's truck that I have been slowly getting back on it's wheels. Hope everyone has a good day and gets out with all your friends driving somewhere. I need to price of oil to go up before Christmas. LOL
