I run this race 2 years back for the 1st time. I was sick the whole time but enjoyed the event!

Wanted to run one of these races Tucson or Barona. Looks like Tucson faired a little better for getting the races done. Maybe next year for one of them.

Well the falcon is down for the count. I pulled the engine to replace motor mounts and track down an oil leak. Took the pan off to change the rear main seal and found the thrust bearing had failed and worn a .100" deep groove into the crank thrust face. A weld repair would cost as much as a new crank so here we go. Everything else still looks new.
I have a 289 under the bench that will go in to pinch hit until I can get the good engine back up and running.

I'm not in a bad mood, I just look that way.........

Good thing you found it Dan! As for the 289. I'm sure it will pinch hit just fine. Wink

Well, we are loading/hooking up tomorrow. Rubber meets the road & track Sat. morning. Taking the drag quad to the track for some testing. Hopefully everything goes without a hitch.

TnT report, the good & bad; most of it was bad!

Myself & the quad was not getting along very well yesterday. I totally had my head up my butt & it seems like the older I get, the worse it gets.

The first two passes were flat out embarrassing. I couldn't get it off the line without it bogging & darn near killing the motor. Then gurgling down the track & not clearing out.

We did get 2 semi-respectable passes in with: decent reaction times, no bogging, no gurgling but for some reason we were about a second slower in ET. We are going to make a few minor changes for next weekend's races. We'll be slow but I think we have a raceable/competitive combo. Thank goodness, it's a bracket race!

Getting ready for rubber to meet the road & track tomorrow. We have a TnT on Fri. & our first two points races on Sat. & Sun.

I'm looking forward to this year because we are going back to S/Pro for the 1st time since around 2014. While we will not be using the delay box the majority of the time. We do have it installed & will use it occasionally. Some understand why I have it installed & some do not!

I'm going to have to be on top of my game for this endeavor & hopefully it helps with my interim goals; to help with my main racing goal for this year.

2BKING: I don't know how this weekend is going to turn out. Hopefully I can get a few round wins. Regardless, you will get the racing report good or bad. Smile

In S/P do they mix the dragsters with the door cars starting rd1?
