Anyone who doesn't think the doddering old fool in the white house has directly increased fuel prices, simply has no clue. His first day in office he killed the Keystone XL pipeline, (and 11,000 jobs) with a stroke of his pen. He has cancelled drilling leases on millions of acres. The U.S. became energy independent under President Trump, and we enjoyed low fuel prices, we were actually EXPORTING our excess oil, and OPEC was powerless to harm us. Now the Saudi's are bending us over the (oil) barrel again. Way to go, Brandon. Roll Eyes

Today left the track and filled up for $2.99 and 2 miles up the road it was $2.89. 25mi up the road to Wythville, 3days have passed, now every station was $3.45. The thieves are making a killing.

There is a specific reason why you are seeing variables on pricing with stations that are within certain distances. It is called fuel replacement cost plus or minus on the rack price. Average load delivery fee is about $700.

Some stations will not add the replacement cost and hold off to keep moving volume.

Here is a case in point. Say a station has a drop of 10K gallons of regular Sunday night. Monday comes, they only sold 2800 gallons at X amount of dollars. Now you have to remember they have 7200 gallons still unsold in the ground.

This is where replacement cost come into play.
They will raise it again and again on the unsold 7200 of which increases the profit margins Ten fold pending on rack price whether they took delivery or not. It is a game they keep close to the vest. Most of these smaller no name stations
will pull out of the same terminals. Rack price is the determining factor also to set the profit margins for the fuel jobbers.. Back then my profits on a gallon of regular was 4 cents per gallon. # 2 diesel was 5 cents. You had to move volume to be competitive with the smuck across the street.

Unbelievable. Just now news alert from the DC Compost:

Biden administration pushes to raise rates for oil and gas drilling on public lands and waters, citing climate change

A new report indicates the U.S. government will make it more expensive to extract oil and gas on federal land and offshore, by accounting for climate change and other environmental impacts. It comes just days after President Biden authorized the release of 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in an effort to lower U.S. gas prices.
How freaking CLUELESS can this idiot be???
And the enviro-blowhards are currently the biggest threat to the American way of life. Thanks to the Fake News media pushing out all the BS to create fear and panic about something that is really not even close to being any kind of immediate threat to the planet.

"Dunning-Kruger Effect"
-a type of Cognitive bias where people with little expertise or ability assume they have superior expertise or ability. This overestimation occurs as a result of the fact that they do not have enough knowledge to know they don't have enough knowledge.

Before you argue with someone ask yourself, "Is this person mentally mature enough to grasp the concept of a different perspective?" If not there is no point to argue.

How about this. My Brother in law owns land on which is stored an enormous amount of gas pipeline that was supposed to be used on one of the Biden canceled pipelines. That pipe is daily being loaded onto barges and shipped down river to be loaded aboard ship for the ride to CHINA. Hello America!

Down .020-.030 around here on the west side of Columbus, OH. Plenty of stations $2.84-2.90 for regular. The station I stopped at in Elkin, NC last month is also down about .020 from when I was through there.

US oil production was down to 10,000 bpd in February. It's up to 11,700 bpd now.

I can tell you that producers are gearing up. We are slammed at my shop with all the orders. Totally oil related product line at our company. We will be starting overtime after the first. Have to get past peoples vacations and the holidays.

I paid $3.42 a gallon tonight when I filled my truck. 100% gas

Regular fuel with 10% ethanol is $2.99 right now. Went up $.08 overnight.

Down .020-.030

I think someone has read too many time slips…lol – j/k.

When the one year average has went right back to where it was pre Trump era in just a matter of months, data analysis is fairly pointless….and I really don’t care about tenths of a penny …because its always .009!

Most of us gray hairs have seen the pattern and predicted the results. At the end of the day, funding the “special interest groups” on the left, by the left, is a full circle expenditure with great rewards for the political elite.

I could only hope that someday these emotional driven voters and liberal minded thinkers get there head out of their ass’s enough to see that their quality of life is impacted more by the economy than a few hurt feelings, raw comments and unconventional approaches from the elected official.

Sign me up too. Of course we get the double wammy in Illinois due to high fuel taxes too. The fat man and all his liberal buddies are responsible for that one. I bought gas in Iowa yesterday, and do every chance I get.
