Barry,
Likewise I'm done with #1. #2 scheduled for April 10. Feel fine this morning, arm isn't sore either. The young lady that did the injection was very good. Good Morning

You should not test positive after the vaccine. The vaccine is not a “live” virus. The vaccine is simply teaching your body to make the antibodies to fight against covid without introducing your body to the virus itself

I have read a lot about the vaccine online.
According to my research, you can still test positive after a Covid vaccination.Makes no sense to me.

If your body develops an immune response—the goal of vaccination—there is a possibility you may test positive on some antibody tests. Antibody tests indicate you had a previous infection and that you may have some level of protection against the virus. Experts are currently looking at how COVID-19 vaccination may affect antibody testing results.

Pretty sure I got the covid last week. Appears that my wife has it now. Not the worst I have been sick but length has kinda sucked for me. 8 days now since first symptom, but starting to feel better.
On a positive note, I ought to have some immunity going forward.

Not unless dr's ask us too. Not sure what the value is in it. We are isolating regardless.

Bucky, I'm really glad it wasn't as bad for you as it was for us. I hope your wife is well soon.

Thx for the good wishes. My symptoms were not typical. Lower GI/dehydration/body aches. Kinda indicates a lower gi flu bug really and thus they didn't test me when I went in for a bag of fluids. Never had a measurable fever. Very mild cough typical for my seasonal allergies. I week of lower GI stuff isn't fun, but not life threatening as long as you stay hydrated. So they told me it's a virus. Let it run its course. My wife however has had more typical symptoms, which makes me suspect I have the same. No sense in exposing any of our employees/teams at work. I have my laptop so I can get some things accomplished as I have energy. Don't think I have ever been sick from work for this long.

I had the Hong Kong flu in 1968. Thought I was going to die. Off work for week, horrible! One Million people died between 68 and 69. All the more reason to get a Covid shot. Hopefully this Covid crap will be over by summer.

Got #1 on Saturday - #2 is scheduled for 4/10. A little achy later in the day Saturday and yesterday, slightly tired, but overall that was about it. Others I know, who have at CV19, had worse reactions but I hear that is a common reaction if you have had it.

So far it was not as bad as that second Shingles shot....son of a #$%^&*( that sucked.

You can still get the virus and still be sick after getting the vaccine and you can still get the virus and be asymptomatic after the vaccine.

With the vaccine only a 5% chance. I like those odds.

And that would be the value of getting tested, so you KNOW. My wife and I got it first week of February (despite rarely leaving the house except for grocery runs, and following all safety protocols...) We had different symptoms and timelines, but both had it. She got it all quickly and hard, but bounced back quicker. My symptoms were very mild for over a week, THEN I got the constant fever and headache for about four days, which was just debilitating. Tried to sleep through as much of it as I could just to fight it. It was pretty much done after that.

I had to cancel my appointment for my second shot and our dumbass health dept. has no real way to reschedule my appointment. At least not online. I guess I'll call the hotline number and see if I can get it that way.

Cashflow, just go into where you are suppose to get the second shot when you are ready. They will give you the shot. I know several friends that did just that and they got there shot.

I get my 2nd one on April 10. I got Phizer with no reaction at all, not even a sore arm. My daughter got Moderna and had a reaction from the first and second shot.
Our illustrious governor has opened it up to over 50 and over 16 after April 15. We can't get enough vaccine now. He's trying to save his a$$ from a recall.

You know it's weird in Illinois. Some counties are flush with them, some way short consistently. Seems to follow political maps but that's another discussion. But the way to get a vaccine, is sign up at some location that has them, and will allow people from your county. No real preference for age that I have seen. If you can find a slot, you can get in maybe in a day. My 70 year old mother had to wait over a month locally.
