I have had both shots, last one about 3 weeks ago. Mama got number 2 yesterday and is fine today. My take is taking the shot is better than the alternative.

I may have screwed up but I decided to get the vaccine. First shot was yesterday, arm is pretty sore. Go back about the 16th of March for the follow up shot.

3 people I know pretty well in their 40's have had one hell of a day the day after second shot. And frankly I don't know that many people who have gotten vaccinated. Around here employers are giving people the day off the day after shot 2 because of all the reactions. This is really being downplayed in the media, but it is all over social media.
Fortunately, it seems to be one day and done.

My wife and I are eligible for our second shot on the 3rd, next wednesday. But, because of the weather delay, they are not scheduling any second shots until the first dose appointments are filled. I was told that I have up to two weeks after the thirty days are up between shots to get the second. Not sure if I can get in during that time frame. I asked what happens if I dont get the second shot, they couldnt answer that question.
My thougthts on getting the shots are, if it works, fine. If it doesnt work, also fine. As long as it doesnt kill you, whats the harm.

I have said before the Company I work for has come out with a mandate that all employees and contractors MUST have vaccine to be allowed on property. They said we are "Essential" and should be moved up on priority list some. But we MUST take it when it becomes available.

They are going to have to Fire me and we will deal with it how ever need be.
If you VOLUNTEER and if you agree to sign the release to not hold them liable because you think the benefits outweigh the risks then that is fine.

To me the problem is the vaccine is still listed as Experimental and only has an Emergency approval from FDA.

Our Union President came by and told us we MUST get it. I told him then send a letter to the Company stating that since they are FORCING us to get the vaccine that THEY are accepting the Responsibility for side effects or death and will be held accountable for their decision. Our Union President does not have a set of those things real Men grow and just said "Nothing we can do about it, they can require us" Someone must accept Responsibility for it whether it is you who volunteers for it or who ever forces you to take it.

With that said I think we are screwed and will all be forced to get it before long. I suspect Big Brother is going to require you to have it if you get on a plane, go in Federal Building, or go just about any where. While the may not REQUIRE you to get the shot you will not be able to do much of anything with out it.
I do not like that. Towards end of the year I will probably have to fly out of the Country so like it or not will probably have to get it. I see that coming.

The Company I work for has said we MUST take it. If FORCED to take it then I will take off if there is any side effects for as long as it lasts. Headache? Nope not coming in today maybe tomorrow.

I agree, it does not look like we will have much of a "Choice" in a Free Country.

Its all good Larry. I am 3 weeks and mama is 1 week past the 2nd Phizer shot and no after affects so we are good to go for now I guess.

Curly, I agree in the most part of what you are saying. Getting the vaccine should be voluntary, not mandatory. If you got a flu shot, did you not get the flu because you got the shot, or would you have not gotten the flu anyway? I dont get sick, I have never been sick, yes, I am very fortunate, point being I havent had a flu shot in over forty years, if ever that I can remember and I have not had the flu. I did get a flu shot this year, (at the wifes request) did I not get the flu because of the shot, or would I have not got it regardless. Odds are I wouldnt have got the flu anyway, but, no harm no foul. It was mandatory, not by a company but by the wife lol. Like I said earlier, as long as it doesnt kill you or make you ill, I see no harm in getting the covid shot.JMO.
I see where England is kicking around the idea of making the covid shot mandatory in order to travel.

I did NOT experience any after effects from the first or second shot. But I do know a few people who had minor soreness or a headache. But all were OK after 24 hours. As far as being mandatory from certain employers, get the shot or ? OBTW it was mandatory to get the polio and smallpox shot when I was a kid.
