How accurate do you think those numbers are? Kinda like the POLLS??
I do not buy into the media or the hype here.
If the Scientist that study this and research this say its better to mask up, no big deal I'll mask up. Especially if I want to race. Yes I believe the Scientist with Bach/ degrees are smarter about this than me or you are.

I am 64 and not 100% healthy, I am not taking chances with the flu or this. I get my shots every year. My goal is to stay healthy and keep racing, fishing. hunting and enjoying my family and friends.

Life is full of risk and gambles. The chances of you dying in an auto accident or from coronary are relative to that of covid. Have you stopped driving? Any drastic eating changes? Not me. I accept those risks because they are always there.
Let's not get too far from the facts and the science here. There are certain age groups and health factors that put people at higher risk for death from Covid. Protect them, and your mortality plumits. Work on the right problem.

So you assume these "scientists" have no personal and/or political agendas? That they and the government are being honest with you?

You are on a dark, dangerous, path.

Covid surpassed the flu long ago, 20 times worse!

Tests mean nothing, hospitalization and deaths do. Trump has my vote but his dumb statements will ruin him.
How about your Swede buddies and Brit’s?? Europe??.. closed down eh? No masks, no distance = not smart. I guess those numbers are bs too? You can’t ignore the facts. But keep trying.
Yes we need all businesses open, yes we need to get back on our feet but we need to be smart too.

What I don't get is all the focus on keeping kids and healthy adults from getting this. Seems like the smart thing to do would be to focus all resources on keeping the people who die from getting it. Protect the nursing homes with heroic efforts. Support those who have severe conditions so they can stay home. That's it! Let the rest of the population get this done with so they AND those who are at risk can go back to living.

We simply put do not have the healthcare facilities/workers to handle the influx of covid patients if that were to be done.

We have heard that before and it didn't happen. We are hearing from some that hospitals are overwhelmed right now. But when you look at the local data and that around our state, that just isn't the case. We have plenty of hospital beds available and designated for covid. Plus, just because we lift restrictions, doesn't mean that all of a sudden people get stupid. We aren't stupid. Would you expect less healthy on retirees to suddenly party in large groups mask free because restrictions were lifted? Do you think hospitals would be overrun with school kids if they were all back to school? I find it unlikely. Plus, this does not have to be all or nothing. I'm talking about protecting the elderly first and foremost. How does that immediately put more people in the hospital? This is not the federal government's responsibility. It's on the States.

There's really no reason to be anti mask. I am anti mandate. Let people decide for themselves. If the hospitals are humpin, people will know what to do.

True dat. If there is an honest hot spot(s) then local action is warranted (not cases, but hospitalizations that threaten capacity). But good ole Joe wants to control it from Washington. That is so illogical, don't know why people aren't smacked in the face with such an outrageous statement.

By the time they're done tearing it all down, they'll have the collective unconscious mass man convinced, he gave up his rights and lost his future for the simple reason the government was protecting him from a flu, nobody even knew they had.

63,000,000 unemployment claims so far and the real fallout hasn't kicked off yet.

For any transformation to occur, disassembly is required.

I believe it didn't come to that because we took some steps to prevent it. We are starting to get hit pretty hard down here again when you look at hospitalized numbers. I just don't have the same faith in people not being stupid that you do. Old people partying isn't a concern but the spread by healthy people carrying it to them when restrictions are lifted.

I agree it should be more on the states to make the decisions as I believe that should be the case on a great many things. I don't mean to sound like a doomsayer and I'm sure having many family members in healthcare tends me toward being overly cautious. I do think masks help a great deal and wish they weren't politicized so much. I get really sick of people comparing wearing a mask to things such as Jews being led to gas chambers. We are going to have to live our lives with this virus because it isn't going away any time soon but I think that for quite a while we will have to change how we live it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating what Gov. Newsome is inflicting on his state but they elected him and they have to live with it.

WRONG - it should be up to the individual citizens. If encountering un-masked people scares you, then you need to stay home.

The contrast is stark. One is the government makes the decisions, the other the free individual does.

So, you and SlyFox believe let's say a man who know that he is infected with HIV and failed to tell women of his HIV status and had unprotected sex with them is ok?

Sucks for those of you who would have the state go in a different direction.

Sorry man. The see Bucky part was about Slyfox's reply relating to your earlier comment about people.

Then I replied to him. I should have made it more obvious. He is the exhausting one. You have reasonable discussions.

First of all, save the woman card BS. Secondly that is so contrived and off the subject it doesn't deserve a response. Please see my response below:
