It’s crazy right now in the hospitals. My wife was offered $100,000.00 for a 13 week contract as a travel nurse in the ICU in Texas .

EDIT: Missouri not Texas.

What hospital was that if I can ask? I am a FSE for a Medical device company and work in the OR. Most hospitals I service in North TX is business as usual. Our governor has given the hospitals the choice to cut back or stop elective surgeries based on there individual room capacity. The equipment I service is used in elective surgery and I am busy as ever and have no problems getting into the hospitals to work

So am I to understand that if one chooses of their own free will to take the vaccine, they are automatically an enemy of freedom? If so, that is illogical. I'm anti mask, because I think they are useless. I'm not at all afraid of other people, or the 'rona. But I'm not afraid of the vaccine either. So give it to me, and let's get on with life.

Steve, she just told me as we were going to bed and I said something about it, that I was wrong and it was in Springfield, Missouri not Texas. Sorry for the wrong info. She gets offers all the time and I thought she said this one was in El Paso but that was another offer.

Can you see the way things are in other hospitals out of state? I thought it nuts they offered a contract like that.

None of what you posted changes how crazy it is to pay someone $100,000 for a 13 week contract.

A question for Steve and Curtis:

Is it less expensive in your States to lay off regular full time employees and hire Travelers? Here in California travelers are paid more than regular Nurses but they don't receive any benefits. My wife was a full time L&D RN for 42 years.

If every American tells the government to go **** themselves with their vaccination, what happens?

Freedom

What happens if every American capitulates, and takes the vaccination in trade for some freedom?

Slavery

Bob, I'm not sure on how it actually ends up for the hospital. I know it is good for us. One year many years ago my wife had a contract in Fort Smith, AR. We live just south of Tulsa, OK. She would drive back and forth instead of staying there. The way the money is taxed on her per diem and such we only had to claim $39,000 of her $85,000 that year if I remember correctly. I haven't done our taxes for so long but I'm pretty sure that is what it was.

When the hospitals are having trouble getting nurses, as Oklahoma is now, they don't really have a lot of other options. The travel nurses get the worst patients though and get cut first if census drops so you aren't guaranteed hours like a hospital nurse employee would be.

And 442 when I say having a hard time getting nurses I mean real ICU nurses, not just warm bodies with a license.

What is really crazy about the about of those contracts she has been offered is Baylor Scott and White chain of hospitals had laid off 2200 employees statewide a few months back due to loss of income due to Covid. I do not know if any have been hired back

I'm not letting her take a contract, even that large, but boy is it tempting to her.

"Sure I'll take the vaccine, just mail it to me. My health and safety is too important to show up in person. Just like mail in voting, you know safe secure and honest. So just mail it to me, I'll give myself the shot and send the paperwork back saying I'm vaccinated. You all trust me right..."

Anyone else throw up in their mouth a little when Biden said he would deliver the vaccine and save America? He actually said that.
