STILL WAITING SCOTT!!!
Explain the significance of the time slip you posted?

I was -.3xx red first round for the W at the last race of '22

I forgot to cross over on a 6.9x car that was -.009 red. Laughing Hard

Thankfully, I let go my normal .05x or I'd have been the first red. Cool

I must have been cheating.

As I said before, I actually did build a model of this back in the early 1990's that worked on the bench. I never tried to adapt it into a car though. I agree with the others that say it would be more difficult to hide it, aim it, and filter out the other lights around the tree.

Now about how to neutralize a "tree-reader" if someone does have it in a car or dragster. A quick way would be to have another yellow bulb/LED on the tree (same size as the other ones and have one for each side of the tree) that randomly flashes. It must be yellow as the tree reader can be built to only activate when "seeing" yellow light. And by random flashes, I mean a flash every 0.3 to 0.8 seconds. That should effectively eliminate a "tree-reader". Unless, of course, they have perfected the tree reader to use a laser for aiming and reading. Again, that would be very difficult to aim consistently.

Just brain-storming ideas about this. Don't shoot the messenger.

Goob, the idea you are remembering was the brainchild of Steve Taylor. he called it "Drag 2000" and it was basically running for the best package. A .006 red and a .006 green would be the same amount from zero, thus, the same package. Using the above reaction numbers, if one racer was .004 above dial and the other was .008 above dial, the total smallest package would win.

I said it before -

Since technology has moved forward to where we are today, it only makes sense to provide a preventative measure to eliminate the sensing of the christmas tree in which I'd think most everyone would be in favor of except those who are looking to exploit the system.

Stay Tuned!

Goob - that time slip means more to this thread than you could ever guess!

I'm on the edge of my seat in suspense....NOT!

When & if the preventative measure happens; should be multiple measures taking place. Until it happens, I'm not holding my breath!

As for the I'VE GOT A SECRECT in a time slip. I think all Goob wants & maybe others, is the significance of what it's implying in regard to sensing the tree. Wink

Not at all, not even close. There is no red or green. You could leave before the green I guess, that would just become an LBTA.

It works like this....staging procedure normal, your green comes on, at that moment the clock starts, when you trip the finish line, the clock stops.
The cumulative total time between those events is all you get.
Your reaction time to the lamp, and your car's ET, are combined, and would be the basis for your dial in. Get to the finish first without breaking out, come get you some. Bring your slew rides or whatever you want.

The same group of drivers will still do the most winning.

That time slip might reference an incident of interest, but without some context, it's hard to see anything there except multiple mistakes going on.

So, all that money I just spent on my sparkling new "Tree Reader" was a waste?

Solution to a problem that has never been proven to exist.
Hmmm, this is like government work. Trust us.

I want to see the gadget(s)
I want to know who's been using the gadget(s)
or the gadget(s) doesn't exist.
Period.
