The latest bogus (science????????) data put out by the ipcc about lessening ice on mountains came from a mountain climbing magazine and a geography students dissertation!
Who was it that peer reviewed this bull shyt, another writer at the magazine and another geography student?????????????

Another outright bogus claim has been tied to the ipcc!
Some magazine published a story about man's actions, not global warming, leading to the rain forests in South America being damaged! This story went through another publication or two with iterations along the way, not a single scientist, bogus or otherwise, involved!
Here comes the ipcc with the latest iteration including it in their 2007 report and suddenly the damage to the rain forests is being done by man-made global warming, still no (scientists?) involved!
The ipcc is left in the position of doing even more damage control!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even the experts can't agree.

The General Lee Groundhog did not see his shadow today in Georgia, meaning a short spring should be expected for 2010.

The General Lee Groundhog joins Jimmy The Groundhog, Buckeye Chuck and Staten Island Chuck, who also did not see their shadows.

Groundhog Day's most infamous groundhog, however, did. Punxsutawney Phil predicted a long winter today, despite his counterparts in Ohio, New York, Wisconsin, and Georgia.

(science?) approved by a panel of peers of magazine writers, mountain climbing guides and students writing dissertations!
Naturally when all of the thermometers are moved to optimum WARMER places the average will be warmer!
Interesting that the left-wing rag nyt noticed that the goofball was cleared, BY WHO, when they never noticed a thing about the E-mails exposing all of the altered data, attempts to discredit non-believers and threats to destroy (data?) rather than let it be examined! REASON, there is no legitimate data to examine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RFK, Jr. 15 months ago: Global warming means no snow or cold in DC
By: David Freddoso

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who flies around on private planes so as to tell larger numbers of people how they must live their lives in order to save the planet, wrote a column last year on the lack of winter weather in Washington, D.C.

In Virginia, the weather also has changed dramatically. Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today's anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean, with a rope tow and local ski club. Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don't own a sled. But neighbors came to our home at Hickory Hill nearly every winter weekend to ride saucers and Flexible Flyers.

In those days, I recall my uncle, President Kennedy, standing erect as he rode a toboggan in his top coat, never faltering until he slid into the boxwood at the bottom of the hill. Once, my father, Atty. Gen. Robert Kennedy, brought a delegation of visiting Eskimos home from the Justice Department for lunch at our house. They spent the afternoon building a great igloo in the deep snow in our backyard. My brothers and sisters played in the structure for several weeks before it began to melt. On weekend afternoons, we commonly joined hundreds of Georgetown residents for ice skating on Washington's C&O Canal, which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate.

Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil and its carbon cronies continue to pour money into think tanks whose purpose is to deceive the American public into believing that global warming is a fantasy.

Having shoveled my walk five times in the midst of this past weekend's extreme cold and blizzard, I think perhaps RFK, Jr. should leave weather analysis to the meteorologists instead of trying to attribute every global phenomenon to anthropogenic climate change.

UPDATE: RFK, Jr. never saw this much snow when he was a kid.

Snow no!

Opening ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Olympics are just 5 days away -- and the relatively balmy weather gripping British Columbia has some worried a lack of white stuff might throw a wrench in the games.

"When I got off the airplane it was like, 'What's this green grass doing here? This is the Winter Olympics,'" Trevor Marsicano, an American speed skater told the Associated Press. "For me it's nice, because I'm used to, like, zero-degrees. This is awesome."

Organizers have been touting the Vancouver Olympics as "The Green Games," but the soggy swath of mud at Cypress Mountain has some locals calling them "The Brown Games."

The mountain is the planned site of both the snowboarding and freestyle skiing contests.

In recent weeks teams have been hauling in snow by truck and helicopter. Their efforts will be put to the test Monday when training sessions for freestyle mogul skiing kick off.

"It's not so much the warm weather; it's the wind that does the most damage," John Furlong, of the local organizing group VANOC, told the Associated Press.

"We may get help from Mother Nature, but we're not counting on it. The team is calculating what they have to do. The effort for the past 10 days has been super human. They've moved an extraordinary amount of snow."

Skiing Mecca Whistler, two hours north of Vancouver, is also experiencing unseasonable warmth. Whistler is the planned site for a number of events, including bobsledding and Alpine skiing.

"What everyone is counting on is a bit of magic, a bit of snow," Furlong said.

Vancouver typically boasts a temperate year-road climate much like Seattle to the south. But the lack of snow on the surrounding North Shore Mountains is highly unusual, with this January being one of the warmest months on record.

"The forecast is looking positive this week, and we'll hopeful see some colder temperatures," Tim Gayda, vice president for sport for the Vancouver organizing committee said Saturday.

This is not the first time a Winter Olympics has faced a lack of snow.

In 1998, Nagano had major concerns about a lack of snow in the months before the games, only to see some events canceled and spectators stranded by heavy snow during the Olympics. In 1988 in Calgary, bobsled competition was postponed when ice on the track melted.

According to the International Olympic Committee, the 1964 Innsbruck Games also faced a lack of snow. The Austrian army rushed to the rescue, carving out 20,000 blocks of ice from the mountainside and transporting it to the luge and bobsled tracks. They also carried 1.4 million cubic feet of snow to the Alpine ski slopes.

Scientists seek better way to do climate report
Feb 10 01:00 PM US/Eastern

WASHINGTON (AP) - Some climate scientists are calling for drastic changes in how future United Nations climate reports are done.
The proposals to reform the International Panel on Climate Change are published in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature. The suggested changes come after four embarrassing but small errors have popped up recently in one of the panel's four reports.

The climate change panel is working on its fifth set of reports, to be published in 2013. The panel won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for documenting climate change and projecting global warming's future effects.

Coldest winter on record for most of the south and 12.5" of snow in Dallas, largest record snowfall ever. Largest snowfall in the eat on record.

Also, the average high in Vancover is typically 46-51 throughout the Olympic timeframe. Real smart move on their part, LOL.
