Ooppsss, someone doesn't proof read a portion of a paper as assiduously as might be appropriate and a typo gets out, 2035 instead of what should have been the correct number taken from a Russian estimate on the demise of the Himalayan glaciers of 2350. Not to mention, if I am not mistaken, this was not a peer reviewed paper, someone have a cite for the original paper to see if it has the status of a peer reviewed paper?

What is really embarrassing is that no one in the scientific community has caught this error before this, once again likely because this paper wasn't anything more than an estimate that no one in the scientific community was really looking at. Likely the paper was meant for consumption by lay readers, and therefore not given quite the attention to detail that it would have, had it been a peer reviewed paper by glaciologists for glaciologists. From what little I've read apparently a group of Canadian glaciologists were the ones to catch the error.

So now the Global Climate Change deniers/hoax proponents/world scientific conspiracy proponents run around hooting and hollering screech and squawking like demented loons, then ultimately suggesting throwing the baby out with the bathwater because of a single typo. This is in much the same vein as denying global warming because it gets cold during the winter and an elderly man, of unknown mental status, decided to lay down on the floor in his pajamas, along with his 90-year-old buddy, and dies of hypothermia on cold winter night. Damn, who would've figured.

Now of course, given the general level of scientific knowledge we see around here, and mindful of the fact that some apparently don't even know, or care to know, the difference between weather and climate, is it any wonder we see these types of reactions. And, finally by some lights, sciences is all "blather" anyway, so it is simply rejected out of hand.

Also revealed that the IPCC’s controversial chairman, Dr Rajendra Pachauri, described as “the world’s top climate scientist”, is a former railway engineer with a PhD in economics and no formal climate science qualifications.

Dr Pachauri was yesterday accused of a conflict of interest after it emerged he has a network of business interests that attract millions of pounds in funding thanks to IPCC policies. One of them, The Energy Research Institute, has a London office and is set to receive up to £10million from British taxpayers over the next five years in the form of grants from the Department for International Development.

Yesterday, critics accused the IPCC of boosting the man-made global warming theory to protect a multi-million pound industry.

Climate scientist Peter Taylor said: “I am not surprised by this news. A vast bureaucracy and industry has been built up around this theory. There is too much money in it for the IPCC to let it wither.”

Last year the Indian government issued its own scientific research rejecting the notion that glaciers were melting so rapidly.

Before the weakness in the IPCC’s research was exposed, Dr Pachauri dismissed the Indian government report as “voodoo science”.

The scandal prompted critics to suggest that many scientists had a vested interest in promoting climate change because it helped secure more funding for research.

Besides that, it appears from your previous ravings that you couldn't be bothered to even look at what real science has to say, as it is all blather and way too difficult to understand anyway, right Billy? Except when one of the pompous far right wind bags you apparently glean all your pearls of "wisdom" from attributes something to a "scientific" source, then science is 100% true, right Billy. When something labeled science supports your views all well and good. But, if the vast overwhelming majority of data for the science of any given topic points the opposite direction, well then it's all a hoax. A hoax by the way, of such world wide proportions, that it would be the most monumental undertaking ever known to man, to fake all the data, to fake all the papers, to get the 10's or 100's of thousands of scientist worldwide on the same page so to speak all telling the same lie, to support this hoax, and then only have the vanishingly few cases of these so called discrepancies and lies pointing to this supposed hoax come to public light. Pretty obvious why you believe the things you do, you really are able to swallow damn near anything, whole and undigested.

Science does not have all the answers, now, or likely in anyone now livings lifetime, if ever. But unlike you and the host of people that religiously (beliefs held without evidence) hold absolutist and rigidly unchangeable views and ideas about everything, science does not, ideas come and go based on evidence, evidence that is based on reproducible and verifiable empirical data and as much as is possible for any human, an unbiased assessment of that data. Science does change its collective mind, and quite often, but when and only when the overwhelming majority of the data supports a change.

Today there are far more REAL scientists, especially meteorological trained people, that do not ascribe to man-made global warming than there are people of every persuasion possible doing all they can to promote the hoax! BECAUSE, the hoaxers fully realize the normal earth's cooling cycle is underway and it won't be long before even the duped boobs will wake up!
Why do the hoaxers hide their data and threaten to destroy it rather than show it to the world? This isn't atomic bomb manufacturing instructions!

There are truths and falshoods to both sides. Scientists typically say what ever they want their "ATTEMPTED" research to say. This continues the FREE GRANT money flowing their way. do I beleive the earth is in a heating cycle, yep, do I beleive our emissions have something to do with it, yep. Do I beleive it is of biblicle proportion absolutly not. Do I think there are a lot of people attempting to profit off of the exageration of the impact, yep. The sad part is that it has become political. The politicians are the most corrupt becasue they are putting themselves in position to make a killing on it, they get on TV and talk about it from a script. They never allow questions to be asked because they haven't a clue. based on the data gathered and the time frame the scientists are looking at the earth is actually in a cooling state and has been for the past 7-9 years, there was a spike in the 90's but they are only looking back a hundred years. The earth is millions of years old. This debate is truely trivial and the fact that people get so adimit about it really shocks me. They talk about our children not having a world to live in or we are destroying the earth. more emmisions in Calf were put into the air by the wild fires last year than by the city, what does that tell you, Mother Nature is destroying the Ozone? Yep, all depends on what you are measuring to make your "study" correct.
