| By the way Little Man, Tessa is a car company, Solar City is their power company. Solar City is known to be very high priced. If you were to go solar and buy the system you best bet if you are a member is to buy through Costco. Most companies charge roughly $1000 to $1200 per panel installed including permits before the 30% tax credit. Costco comes in at around $700 to $800 per panel.

I agree Mike. People in Nevada used to get a pretty good return on their money going solar until Warren Buffet bought bought Nevada Energy and now it's not worth the agrivation, nor do I want those ugly solar panels on my house.

| Jerry, unless the system is very pricey or like Little Man your power bill is very low a solar system should always save you money.

They will of course, but with what payback? There is the cost of the system, install, and the extra cost when reroofing happens. Also, they may have some maintenance, and are not without a lifespan.

| Bucky, solar panels lose about a 1/4 percent of their efficiency per year.

Sorry Mikey, you appear to be misinformed or uninformed as usual, Tesla designed and manufacturers the home power cells (Powerwall) and it is branded by Tesla. I am pretty sure Solar City did not have any design input or productions responsibilities for the Powerwall storage units. Solar City started out as installers basically; they may very well have used Tesla products but didn’t manufacture them. The guys that started Solar City are of course cousins of Elon Musk, they, Solar City, were just bought by or merged with Tesla in a 2.6 billion deal as of August 1, 2016, and they (Solar City) were and now Tesla is building a large PV production facility up near Buffalo, NY. Tesla was using its expertise and production facilities in Lion battery technology for there cars to expand into new markets, and is building a large battery production facility in NV. Now with the acquisition of Solar City I assume Tesla is going to come to the marker with a streamlined integrated solar power production and storage products for both home and industrial settings. This is the 6.5 kWh power storage unit as produced and sold by Tesla and called the Powerwall.

| Nice try Little Man but Elon Musk has been the owner in a sense of both companies for some time and it was a smart move to combine the 2. Solar City in the generating business and Tesla in the storage. Now, I dont think that you will find a solar company that builds their own panels as most just install. Now, the Tesla battery looks like a great deal but solar storage batteries have been a round for a long time and the only thing Tesla did was build a smaller battery to make it look cheaper but if you compare how much power a house uses if you buy a Tesla battery you will spend the same amount of money as you would for the other battery.
