Even some Chinese scientist agree that the upcoming Olympic games in Biejieng (sp?) may cause some respiratory problems for the athletes participating there.

The fundamentalist muslims are not nearly as much of a security concern to the U.S. as the Red Chinese are, and we are strengthening them more every day. All the muslims can do is take out a plane or two or a building or two. The Chinese can take out the w**** world, and will when the time gets right.

A couple of eco-nuts in Sunnyvale planted 8 redwood trees, to eat cardon dioxide, cooling and provide shade. Not to be outdone their neighbor covered his roof and trellis with solar panels.
The years went by, the trees grew and pretty soon were shading the solar panels. Turns out there is a law that says you can't shade more then 10% of someones panels between 10AM and 2PM, off to court they went!
NOW the offending couple has been ordered to cut down 2 of their MAJESTIC REDWOODS!!!!!!!!

I don't know that I can agree with your analysis.

While China has become a threat. It has done so almost exclusively through its economic power and its ability to purchase influence and technology... especially from a previous adminstration that I will not mention for fear of giving Bob a stroke. That economic strength continues to be based on communist control and not capitalism. This control is only manageable as long as they can maintain domination of the workers.

Similar to the Soviet Union, I don't believe Communist China can maintain that domination for a very extended length of time in this age of communication. They have managed their economic growth much better than the USSR did, but I think the workers will eventually decide they are tired of making the government rich while they languish in poverty.

Radical Islam on the other hand is a much more immediate threat... and not just to the United States. It is a world wide threat as evidenced by event in France, Spain, Chechnya, Bosnia, Somalia, The Phillipines, and other countries around the world. Radical Islam may not have the weaponed-capacity to destroy the world in one shot but they are hell bent on destroying the world as we know it through terrorism and subversion.

There are fates worse than honorable death. Go to the Home Depot or Lowe's or WalMart for that manner and pick up 20 items at random. Make note of how many of that 20 are made in China.

When our country becomes slaves to their economics, what do we have? Our lives? Living is better than dying, I agree, but we are fast giving over our way of life in this country, our foundation, our backbone, our hope to a vast manufacturing capacity country other than our own. Suppose why at the end of WW2 and for many years afterward the U.S. had so very much power?

The Chinese, through history have not thought of that much on their own. True, they are said to have invented gun powder, but they are excellent copiers of things. They work very hard.

Communism to the Chinese was not very different from the type of government they had beforehand. They were always a tyranical type system, with a few rich at the top and a great many without anything at the bottom. All Communism brought to China was a new set of leaders. Chiang Chi Sheks followers of a more democratic form of government were beaten out of the mainland by the Commies and settled on Formosa. During WW2 the resolve of the Chinese was remarkable. They moved entire cities inland away from the Japs, along with their factories and infrastructure, mostly by hand labor.

Do not underestimate the Chinese. They have a very old civilization. The train of thought of the Chinaman is that they build for tommorrow. Though they may not individually live to see the fruits of their labors they take solice in knowing they are helping the cause for things to be better in the future. They are not a I WANT IT ALL, NOW type culture. Time is of no consequence, next year, ten years from now.
