You are awful impatient Dion lol.
They'll announce it a week before the 1st race and wonder why no one showed up.

I admit, the quick 16 races were pretty bleak this week .I considered pulling the plug on the thing and giving the sponser money back.Without seeing any action on the web site about it ,some of the people were leary to send their money and the track was leary to post any thing without being asured that there was enough money to make the payout that we had agreed on.Today that hang up was broken with AJ getting threw to people that i couldn't.He talked with some of the key sponsers and they asured him they would not leave him high and dry.I was beginning to have trouble sleeping with this on my mind. What track owners and operators must go threw every week is mind boggling to me.anyway, all that zing i got tied up in our dragster will not be in vain. Thanks again AJ for easing my pain.I asured AJ that he won't be sorry and this will grow from here on.Here i go again(watch the web site)and please tell as many racers and fans to come and enjoy.

As written on the QCMP Facebook page earlier today:

Attention Attention Attention!!

After months of searching for sponsors to put on a quick 16 racing series, we are excited to finally get the word out that we WILL be having a 5 race quick 16 series!!

Non qualifiers and first round losers will be placed into the TOP class!

Q16 dates: May 25, June 29, July 27, August 24, and October 12.

... We owe a huge thanks to all the Sponors who are making this possible!

As soon as I receive all the logos for the sponsors I will be making a printable flyer for everyone to print out! Lets get the word out and make this series a HUGE success!!

Keith, i want to thank you for giving me those first key leads that got the whole Q16 thing going.marco was also and is a very big part in all this.Ijust hope the we can fill the fields plus.there's been way to much work by alot of people to have this thing flop.i'am sure kenny and staff will have a perfect track to race on and i no the racers will show up.My only worry is the fans won't show because of the late word.I hope everyone can help try to fill the stands.Back in the day it was alway a good time.Ijust hope we can bring it back. Thanks to all the sponsers that are on board and the ones to come cause um not done chasing money or product yet.

If you want to fill the stands with spectators you better be making announcements over the local radio stations and making them soon.

clint,i got a brillant idea for getting the fans to come to our track.you and culp can stand out by the flashing light with big Q16 signs on and direct the people toward the track.how bout 25 bucks and a sandwich.Or do ya think a nice bikini clad hotty would do better. If thats the case me and andy will stand watch so she doesn't get run over.where's my fairmont andy,i looked for it at the track saturday. you must have it the trailor.

George,

$25 bucks wont get me into a bikini, even with you and Andy wanting to stand watch. LOL... Besides, I would look like a pregnant hippo in a strippers outfit. That will definitely have the opposite effect from what you want.

George, give me some fliers and I will be sure to drop them off at my sponsors places and the local stop and fuel. Let me know when you have them and I will stop by on my way home to pick them up at your shop.

Maybe we can get Yuk out there to hold up a sign??? Someone will just need to park their truck out there so he can stand in the back.

George--- get all the info in writing including the entry fee so we can spread the word.

Info was posted on the track Facebook page. More info: "the price is $85 for the q16 entry and it's set to be 1/8 mile. We will be setting up the time runs on 1/4 mile that way they can make a full pass to have an idea of their 1/4 time should they not qualify or lose first round." [for those cars, they can fall into first round of Top.

Thanks for taking the time to talk, George. I know that you don't wake up from a nap for just anyone, especially Wayne.

I dont post on here otfen so I just want to say I'am glad someone is trying to run quick 16's again at quaker and having a series of them. I always enjoyed watching them growing up and usually try to sneak into the field myself. I think announcing this 2 weeks from race day on forums and facebook is not going to produce a large crowd. Not at first at least, maybe the second or third one will start gaining momentum. I understand why you want to speed up the program by letting the Q16 guys go 1/4 mile, if they want to in qualifying. Here are a few things that you may not be considering. It is nice to have the bump spot on the scoreboard and updated with each pair. This will be hard to do if the clocks are set up 1/4 mile. Fans want to see 4.xx on the boards too, not a 4.20 run that comes upon the board as a 8 or 9 second run bc the guy is coasting from the eigth. Some drivers like me will be on the fence on turning the NOS on or not depending on the bump spot. Say I were to spray it to qualify, Im not going to run it 1/4 mile bc I wouldnt be spraying in top class. I think a solution would be set up the qualifiers for 1/8 mile clocks. Non Qualifiers and first rd losers can get one time trial before top class. Now before you start yelling stop and think, how many cars will that be? 10-15? So how long does it take to run 5 pairs of cars? Theres not going to be 40 cars showing up for this. I mean I hope there is 100 cars for it, I will be one of them and I may even give away some of the nitrous bottle heaters I make at these events if there is a good crowd. So dont take my sugguestions the wrong way but I think those things would help get more racers there and keep the fans more involved with whats going on and less confusion.

Thanks Jeff Melnick Jr
