I don't get on here too much anymore as I am way too busy, but hoping that someone can help me out. I work at an elementary school in the Hempfield School District and the theme this year is racing. They would love to have a racer (of any sort) come to the school with their car and talk to the kids about Responsibility. Each month the kids have a word to learn about and work towards showing, this month being the word Responsibility. Mom (Christine Brewer) is on board to come to the school with Mark's Mach 1 and I would love to have one or two others there for the kids. If anyone would be willing to help out next Friday, September 9th, please let me know.

Thanks,
Sonya

I do not know what the track record for the 1/8 mile in a dragster is but you can bet it will be history. Obviously

Paul Molnar/Dave Quesenbery hold both ends of the track record at Thompson at 3.8105 and 195.03. I expect the air to be very good in October. Might we see a 3.7? Hope so.

Sonya, I think that is wonderful. I wish Glenn and I could help, but that is my granddaughters first birthday and we will be busy. Maybe one of the Jr Dragsters will be able to attend - that would be something the kids can relate to. Good luck and keep up the great work!

I think it is awesome as well Sonya. If it wasn't a school day for me I would be there in a second. I have always thought about trying to work with administration to get our cars to school especially at the high school level to discuss street racing and driving responsibly.

Want to give a big shout out to Mike at Wholesale Transmission. The transmission in the Cutlass went out on me last weekend. I dropped the car off at Wholesale Transmission in New Kensington on Tuesday morning, where they found the intermediate sprag exploded, taking out the direct drive drum and the back of the pump. Mike called me about 4pm yesterday afternoon to tell me I was all set to go. I picked up the car this morning and it's running like as good as ever. I'll be back at the track tomorrow to try to keep my skills up and help Team PRP at the bracket finals.

They would like them there from 9am to about 12pm. They don't want all grades (K-5) outside at one time.

It is a small school and there is only 262 kids, 2 classes of each grade. They are a great group as well. This is my 2nd year there and the support that the families give is amazing compared to some of the other schools I have been in.

Congrats to Glenn Perrin for winning Modified on Saturday. He gave the Luv truck a break, and drove the '66 Impala in through the gates, ran 13.6x all day, got the win, and drove home. Cool! Cool

Just giving another shout out to the Mike and the guys at Wholesale Transmission. That had to be about the hottest most miserable weather I've ever raced in, so it was quite a test right off the bat for the newly redone transmission. It was flawless, and just needed me to do my job. Can't wait to play some more!

Still looking for a racer or two to come to Bovard Elementary on Friday with their car to talk to the kids about responsibility. I know that people work and may not be able to do this. I would love if I could find one more though. If it rains there will be a rain date determined.

Thanks!
