Anybody have any experience with the c1550 on a faster dragster? If so, how’d they do for you?

I have the C1500 and have heard nothing but good things about the 1550. Will be making the switch to them at some point

I'll be using them this season. My friend and former World Champ in TD used them when he won Jegs in Vegas. He was running Big Bubbas before.

My son Mike has been running that tire for the last two seasons. It has been an excellent tire, very consistent, never shakes and excellent life. Hoosier recently released two new compounds in that same tire size. Bob

Bob, can’t be, everyone knows Hoosier’s shake, rattle and roll ![]() on cars that don’t work, running the wrong tire, too low tire pressure, yada, yada yada. ![]()

For the record the 18770 C1550 just came out in Aug to compete with the Big Bubba. There were a couple people testing them before that. The 18770 C1500 was the tire before that. The recommended tire pressure for C1550 is 4.0-5.5.This message has been edited. Last edited by: TonyB6255,

Tony, IMO, you should be on the BR3 and running more air.

I thought about trying that tire at the beginning of last season but because of Covid we didn't get any chance for testing so I bought another pair of Bubbas. My friend and I run almost the same on motor and he loves the C1550 and helped Hoosier develop it. What is the part number for the tire you are running Ed?

Ed what's the difference between the C1500, C1550 and the BR3. I've tried the C1500 and couldn't get them to work. However the C2055 work great for me

If the C2055 worked great for you as it did me, the BR3 is even better if you can believe that.

Ran the 1500 for two seasons and loved it, have a new set of 1550’s going on now. Ran 4.5 in the 1500 (compare to 6.0 on the bubbas), plan on running the same starting out on the 1550 (4.5) 2015 M&M T/D Nemo Duty-Pride-Tradition FTM/PTB

The only time we ever had issues was when they had 300+ passes on them, so I'd say it was our fault not the tire. We got our use out of them that's for sure lol. Even after sitting for a year and with 225+ passes they went right down the track at ET Finals this year and set a personal best. I'll be trying out a set of the BR3s, assuming we get out to the track more than once this year.

I never put more than 250 passes on the 34.5/17 just because that was my self imposed number of passes. The BR3s don't pull the engine down in the burnout and the 60 foots are quicker and even tighter from pass to pass, typically varying no more than .004 on any given day. We run them at 6 1/4 psi, same as we ran the 34.5/17 and when time permits we will test with higher air pressure.

Before we started Divisional/National racing, we tried to make it 2 seasons on a set of tires which usually equated to around 300 runs if it was a good year. Knowing what I know now I'm sure they weren't as good but at the time the car was still consistent at the end of the second year. We haven't ventured above 5.8, but have stayed between 5.5 - 5.8 simply because that's what worked on both cars and we haven't been able test much over the past 4 years. Thanks for the advice!

Ed, I use to run the C2055 and had good luck out of it. Went around the block and ran the 3122 goodyear for the last 2 years and both the 3190 and 3191 mickey on the other car. Fixing to switch back to hoosiers on mine, which isn't a rocketship by any means. Just runs high 4.70's low 4.80's. I'm kinda wondering what you think would be a good fit on it.

Kole, as I stated above, if the C2055 was good to you the BR3 will be even better for the reasons I stated.
