My 1550's will be here tomorrow. Hopefully they will work as well as the 3197 for me, hold air and last more than 50-60 passes.

It took me a 3-4 runs on the 1500’s to figure out how much air they wanted (1.5 lbs less than the 3196) by the time I got that sorted out they were broke in and never changed

Where did you end up on air pressure with the 1500's? I ran my Big Bubbas at 5.2. I plan on starting there with the 1550.

Made it out to the track today for a couple of test hits to get ready for Belle Rose La D4 race at the end of this month. C1500 Hoosiers, .973 and .978 60ft, 3.903 @186 and still no tire shake and that was on a cold track, air temps in the high 50s today and with old air in them from last October because they dont leak!!

When I ran the iron block, I ran 5.8 but after going to the aluminum block 5.2 seemed to be the sweet spot.

I received me 1550's yesterday. They are marked 114 rollout but I've been told they measure at 35 lbs. First time with a Hoosier in a long time.

Ed,,

Your to bias to comment here,, LOL!

Big Steve,
Nice video, like to see it in slow mo! I will also say this, no matter what your talking about when switching a part, you need to see how it works over a wide range of conditions before you can say it's better or it helped your combo!

As far as MT vs Hoosier or any other tire brand, the more competition there is, the better the products that become available to all racers so it's a good thing!

They will measure 109-110 when you get them mounted.

I have it from a reliable source that Hoosier will be coming out with a "little Bubba" with the 1550 compound. There a couple pairs out for testing now.

That is exactly what I was told. It was a bit of shock when I saw 114.

Very impressive! It looked like the tire never wrinkled, although hard to tell from the rear. Just right into some tire speed. On another video posted a while back, many of the cars seemed to wrinkle the tires for half a rotation or more, then maybe into some wheel speed....although at that point it is hard to see the difference between tire and track to see if there is wheel speed. I stand corrected.....I see the side video now

Stop it! I am not bias. Really! I have run them all on my car except Firestones so I have results for each. As you know I have run MT's for sometime now for a reason. I see no reason to even consider GY's based on results seen from local racers. As for Hoosier's, I can't use any results from Super Comp combo's nor from 6.30 and quicker TD cars. On the TS truck I drive, it has Hoosiers and it works well without the issues I saw with my dragster. The owner of the truck has several TS cars, most on Hoosiers and few on MT's, all work well! So based on my first hand experiences, dragster combo's is where Hoosiers fall short of MT's. I have not had any chunking issues and my tires hold air ( I do soap them). I am not stating that your experiences or anyone else's are false statements regarding Hoosier tires. And that's all! Big Grin
