Happy Thursday y'all.. Hope everyone's having a great week. Curtis, you're making me feel like a wuss with the hot shop. My thermometer said 93 when I gave in and headed for the house. LOL... Good'ish news, the A/C repair folks should be here tomorrow to hopefully cool us off in there. $150 just to get them to show up. Can't wait for the rest of the bill.

Floyd, I hope your brother is recovering well after that. My father in law lives in St George Utah. Retired Marine Sgt Maj. Seems pretty happy with the VA that he deals with over there. Beautiful place out there. I love going to visit, but it's super expensive, coming from the east coast. He raced a Corvette back in the late 60's early 70's. Still digs hot rods, race cars and racing.

Y'all take it easy and stay cool.

I'm still here, been lurking in this thread!

Been getting some pre-warning smoke signals from my Dr.'s lately. Trying to be proactive on making some changes in my life. Nothing serious, just shots fired over the bow!

Hope all is well with everyone!

I have a "Iron Dome" over those type "shots". I get checked pretty often and give credit to the VA for keeping me above ground. But lately I have been kind of lazy and it shows. Maybe its the heat. You should see all the changes in my life, its like a jig saw puzzle. We just have to keep the faith. Stay cool and hydrated.

William, you ain't no wuss. Hot is hot and you probably have more humidity. If I had another choice I wouldn't have been out there in it either. Have to get it done though if I want to race.

Fern.
I was just surprised he went all the way to St. George. That's 600 miles away.

Yes. I go 60mi and thought that was a long way. But my VA is across the street from the Duke hospital and they share employees. Access to a lot more "experts". Sure is hot outside.

Curtis I worked out there in OK one summer on a Goodyear building near OK city. Tin building, hot summer heat, tornadoes, and I got done and got gone quick. I was staying in Moore.

Happy Saturday y'all. Good news... The shop is back to 80 degrees inside. HVAC Gal got it squared away yesterday evening.

I remember years ago, the heat wouldn't make me flinch or complain. Didn't get my first vehicle with A/C til around 35, and that was my company truck. Working on our mess on the hot asphalt in summertime was common for us. Spoke with a friend this morning and now I'm a bit more motivated to get the car done. It's now a race to see who gets back on the track first. His is far closer to being race ready, but I think I can beat him back to the track. LOL.

Time to hit the shop and be productive.

Y'all have a great weekend

Fern, I'm not too far in the country here. More like in the woods, close to the country. Would certainly love country living though. 100 wooded acres with me in the middle is my preference. Don't think my wife would dig it. She seems to need neighbors, even if she doesn't associate with them. We only have 6 of em and so far I've met 2. Wondering if I'll meet the rest once the race car starts making noise again. LOL. Cold front here in Eastern NC this week. High 80's instead of the mid/high 90's of last week.

Got a pretty interesting race weekend coming up at CPD this weekend. Saturday, track points race with a couple exhibition alky funny cars and a wheelstander. Should be a fun evening. Hope to make it out and visit some friends for a bit.

Y'all have a great week.

G'day y'all. Getting a little bit closer to having a transmission in my car. I expect it'll be another 2-3 weeks before I actually have it in there. Lots going on to keep me out of the car side of the garage. Spent most of this afternoon fixing and doing PM to my work gear, instead of showing the car some love. Tropical storm showed its a$$ and shut down the race at CPD yesterday. They can't seem to catch a break over there since resurfacing the track. I'm pretty sure they've had one race, (no prep street stuff) and 3 or 4 rain outs.

Fern, with that many cars at the event, how long does it take from round to round? Was talking with a friend who races big money races today. He said he's been seeing a lot more participation over the past few years in bracket racing vs NHRA, PDRA and such, which he used to race in.

Hope everyone had a great Independence Weekend and has all their fingers/bodyparts still attached.

Well William as more and more tracks stop any kind of regular bracket racing the draw to come to these added purse, several day races, increases. With perfect weather and no oil downs some promoters figure out how to get it done as happened this week end at Bristol. All races were finished + one gamblers race! There were racers there from as far away as Kansas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Connecticut, and Florida. This is one of those bucket list races, so they come. Next year -- 7 races in 5 days. This will be the 20th year for the WFC. Its a long day from start to the end of buybacks. For me--it was a good time as they always treat me good there and I see many good old friends. I could go on and on but I'll stop. Came home to tornado warnings and flooding but I escaped it. Life is good!

Fern, I heard your name mentioned more than once on the broadcast.

William, I hope you get the car out sooner than later. I'm about 10 days from having mine back running again.

I hope everyone had a great 4th weekend.

Curtis do you know the man from OK with the 66 Impala? He was there also last year. Even had a blower car running foot brake. 62, I think, Tempest from Kansas. We sponsor the best winning and losing packages and bad luck award. Maybe thats why I got mentioned. Or maybe they wanted me to shut up. Me Steve Riggens and JJ had a good time in the booth. I must mention Paige Hamlin for retrieving my car keys from between the console and the seat. If not for her I might still be there. She does a h=ell of a job helping run the show.

Until then we are on a month + road trip across the Northern part of this great country heading East! Leaving on July 21st & will be back in NV. the end of Aug.

Hope all is well with everyone!
