We had loads of fun, but too much drinky & food!

I walked away with $700+ ahead from gambling, all from video poker. The biggest jackpot won was $500!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Morn y'all
My boy is on his way to Shafter, CA. this morning for their annual 1/2 mile drag races. They don't have et's it's just side by side first one to the end wines. Last time he was there he went 157 in his factory stock Shelby GT500. This year he is hoping for 180 mph. He swapped the supercharger for twin turbos. He has double the hp this time.

Happy Mothers day weekend to all the mothers out there.

Floyd, that sounds like a blast. I have another 68 Camaro I started a project on years ago, to make street/strip instead of full time bracket car. Still very unfinished. Would be really cool to finish it and find something like that 1/2 mile, or even full mile racing to give it a go.

Hey Brian, good deal on leaving while ahead. That's about what I just spent on some high quality VP racin fuel Thursday, LOL ....

Y'all have a great weekend and spoil them mommas out there...

The race is held at a small air field in Sfaftner.
It got to windy and hot o the traction went away. He only got 3 passes an the best was 165. It went on the trailer okay, nothing broke so a good day.

We got tracks everywhere and not a race in sight for a foot braker. 200+ miles at $6.00 a gallon just don't light my fire. Real good top bulb race at Darlington, 2 10s for $155. Piedmont has either dirt drags or drifting, whatever that is. Oh well guess I'll mow the grass. Everyone have a good day.

Now I'm curious.... Did the grease gun survive? LOL... As many times as I've unloaded/loaded them little *******s, I always hate it, 'cause they're little *******s. I've retired one or two into the floor out of frustration... LOL...

Just got home from 3 days at Rockingham. Had a great time. Super tired, mainly from the 2.5 hour drive and sleeping Friday/Saturday nights in the back seat of the truck. Not necessarily uncomfy, but not really comfy either... If I ever get the dually back on the road, back seats come out and a bed goes in.... I'll update my race recap on the other thread later, after dinner and nap... Hope y'all are doing well. Hey Fern, I'm planning to be at The Farm with CCRA at the end of the month...

Good evening folks... Hope all is well out there. Managed to find time to work on the hotrod this weekend. Decided it's time to add the 2nd battery that I've been planning for a while. Tracking the high gear electrical problem, I also found the MSD ground was only finger tight and grounded to the cage beside the wiring panel. Moved that to the negative on battery, where it belongs. May or may not have been or contributed to the problem, but being "kinda" loose, I'm sure it would have sooner or later. Also found the hole in my slick, dead in the middle of contact patch. Pretty damm small and I assume it may be fixable. Hope so, damm thing has a whoppin 25 runs on it... Car going in for a front end checkup This week as well. Hopefully I'll have my poop squared away for the Gear Jammers race at The Farm coming up...

Hope all y'all are doing well out there.

I forgot all about this until yesterday. I had to reload the grease gun again because of the 1st fiasco. I'm happy to say it went well this time after watching a couple youtube vids.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Hey Fern, assuming everything goes to plan, I'll be at The Farm Saturday. Maybe getting there Friday evening. I'll be looking for ya.

Brian, that grease gun fiasco still has me with visions of myself when I've fought them little *******s. LOL. I came across a really good one several years ago, Lock-n-Lube I believe is what its called. The business end locks onto the nipple better than any other I've met. Don't get the mess the typical outlet hands out at times. I believe they sell just the outlet, or entire gun, whichever you need. I needed the entire unit because mine,,,, kinda sorta went to the train station, as the Dutton folks would say... LOL.

Well we made it. Car was fine both in test & tune and race Sat. Would have been nice to have won a round though. William got there and parked beside me. We had a good visit even if our race results weren't so stellar.

Happy day after race day y'all. Was really good to see ya Fern. Had a great time, despite my lack of success. Actually, I still consider it a success, given what I learned and good conversation with good folks... Boy do my driving skills need a serious tune up though. Thinking about painting the car red, since it's fairly evident I really like the color. Anyone there who saw my 1st round and gamblers race reaction times will attest to this... I'll do a race recap on Brians thread later. Been nonstop here since 6am and I need a nap.... Y'all have a great evening... BTW, Fern you were right on the money on fuel prices down the road. Going by memory, I fueled up at around $4.90. About 20 miles later I saw signs advertising $5.60... YEEKS....

Hope everyone's doing well and leaving them red lights to me out there...

Just to add,,, Fern, I still say you need to write a book or two/three... Lots of knowledge us middle agers and the younger crowd can learn from ya..

Bob, those CA fuel prices are unaffordable. I'm abusing diesel. I'm sure that's getting killed out your way.

No book! First of all if someone told me my story I wouldn't believe it. I came from nothing to way, way to far in life. And to live 85 years, come on man! I thought you had a big pic of your car on here but I don't see it---anyway for the rest of you, a picture does his car no justice. That thing is an extremely well built piece you need to see to believe. NICE

June 1, 2026. The average price of diesel in San Diego is $7.36 but many stations are charging as much as $8.50 a gallon.

So for a vehicle getting 7 mpg a trip from my house to downtown San Diego and back (50 miles) would cost $61 in fuel.

And the "Kicker" is the Governor would be thrilled to increase the cost and drive every diesel powered vehicle out of the State tanking the economy. Yep, sorry about the pun.

Oh sorry, I forgot the recent substantial State increase in vehicle registration for diesel powered vehicles. YEP, diesel vehicles in California, like commercial trucks and motor homes are totally unaffordable.

Then there's the CARB, a whole (or, HOLE) other story about corruption.

Bob
