Hey Fern, I put a pic on here a few weeks ago, but it's disappeared. Damifino what happened. Got a pretty good pic of yours and mine from Saturday. I'll see if it will post. Thanks for the kind words about the ole hotrod. As I recall from speaking with Jimmy Bridges a few years ago, He had Gary Jennings do the cage/chassis work around 1993/94 time frame. Also, the paint is roughly 35 years old. It's held up pretty darn well. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

Average gas in my 'hood $3.09 but diesel is $5.79 Our Governor suspended the State sales and fuel taxes, that's somewhere around $.40 - .50 iirc. "Despite the high cost of living, it remains popular." Dave Cook N375

110 race has $14.00, reg gas $3.39 Premium for my Mercedes $4.89. I like that idea of suspending the state sales tax but that will not happen here as they are raising every tax they can to support our so called "economic development".

Welcome back Floyd. Glad things are getting better for ya. Not much happening on the car right now. Since getting back from the Farmington race, I've been wide a$$ open with work and home stuff. Did manage to drop tranny Saturday. Nothing broken, just need to get to clutch for some preventive maint. Should finish up my work week tomorrow evening, and hopefully be able to make time for car/clutch/tranny stuff Friday and Saturday. Wifes B-day was yesterday, and had great timing for it. Jelly Roll had a concert downtown Monday, so we went. Very entertaining to say the least. He put on a great show, as well as the opening acts. Y'all have a great week. Good for you. Home is always good, you take care of yourself. I elected to stay home rather than face 100 degrees and the chance of rain at the track. Got a couple of rooms of carpet replaced yesterday as the 30+ year old in there looked a little rough. Grass needs mowed but its to hot so I need to find something to do today. Everyone that stops by say hello. we need you here. Stay safe and DRINK WATER!

Fern, if ya need something to do, I have clutch maintenance to do here. Air conditioning works good in the shop. Tranny is out and I need to do the rest now. C’mon over… William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

William I exited the stick shift/clutch deal 50 years ago. But my shop also has A/C and the car is in there but today I am lazy. Might ride down to the Rock and see how they are doing. Not much motivation here.

Can someone back fill us in on why this thread started? I see Mike Hawks edited the OP, "This message has been edited. Last edited by: Mike Hawks, January 10, 2016 11:36 PM" some 9 years later. I think Floyd is the only active member from the start of this thread. When did Fern become active in the thread? This thread seems to have the most history & is still active on DRR! 2BKING ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. Pump Gas 436

Happy Sunday y'all. Brian, I don't know for sure why Mike started this thread waaaaay back then, but I expect he may have just been bored and wanted to get some discussion going. I haven't met him, but know some folks who know him. Through them, I hear he's a great guy. He raced many years ago until health issues sidelined him. He still stays up to speed with racing on facebook. He has a page called Old Photos IHRA and NHRA. No idea why he left DRR, but maybe I'll ask him sometime on his FB page. He'd probably be happy to know this thread is still alive. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

I have known Mike long before he started this post and as is his way he started it just for fun. Myself and a few others bought him a power wheel chair long ago. Last fall I visited Cana and was told he was still alive but not doing to well. I could not find him as his house burned down a few years ago. He is a good guy and don't deserve the hand he has been dealt. William I sure wish I had your energy. My car is right where you saw it last, on the trailer in the garage. My neighbor lost at 3 cars in top at Rockingham Sat. Old guy in his Mustang put a whippin on the dragsters first time out this year. Stay safe and drink water.

I've been around since before this thread, I just didn't post in it. I saw Mike was on Facebook a couple years ago but haven't seen anything from him in a while. Maybe his group just hasn't come up in my feed. I raced Saturday and it was miserably humid and pretty hot 94° and 65% humidity. Car was stellar and driver was not. I hope everyone is being safe at the track.

I joined in 2004 but I had been lurking for a few before that. I’ve met quite a few a few great guys here and some not so great but all in all pretty cool ![]() California Screaming! Raceless in California!

Fern, I saw a video done for him, to help raise money for his living arrangements and health needs a few years ago. It was after the fire. As best I recall, some folks bought him a trailer and outfitted it to assist with his handicap needs. He had a little roundy round race track in the dirt out front and would race his power chair around it. In the video, he came across as one real fun loving, fun having guy, even with how things have been with his circumstances. I do hope he is doing well. It would be cool to meet him sometime. As a side note, at the CCRA race in Rockingham last month, Jim Reynolds was there with his super cool Corvette and was wearing a Mike Hawks Performance T-shirt... I took pics of Jims car and posted on Mikes FB page. He seemed to really like that. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100
