Morning Doug, come more often. Floyd we gave the kids the tools, not money, to make it on their own and each of us started dirt poor. Kids doing well and I never saw a armored car in a funeral procession. I have even given a little to our racing community. It don't hurt to give a little back and we are so fortunate to be able to do so. But it looks like we won't be able to buy fuel if it keeps going up. Everyone have a good day and stay safe.

Happy Sunday Funday y'all... I say Funday somewhat sarcastically, since I'm looking at pulling my tranny today due to breakage yesterday. Still had a good day at the track despite my mistakes and then parts breakage, (unknown yet if self inflicted, or just one of those crap happens things). Friend and his pop hung out with me all day. His pop raced in NY waaaaay back in 60's & 70's. I remember him mentioning Cicero as one track he raced at back then. Several other tracks that I can't remember names. Raced against Muldowney when she drove a pre 1960 vette. Good stories from him about those days. Good news may be on the horizon also. Have a few folks interested in the house I just put a for sale sign on, that we moved out of last year. With some good fortune, I may have some spare parts and repair $$$ in my pocket soon. Hey Fern, let me know when/where you're racing out that way. Assuming I get my tranny fixed, I'll try to make an appearance and maybe get a run against you. Would certainly be a gimme for ya, as I'm currently everyone's favorite sittin duck, LOL. Enjoyed the visit with ya a couple years ago at Rockingham. Well William I am just like you, removing the trans to change the converter. It takes my old a$$ an awful long time to do these things now days. I have it part way done and will work on it some more today. I'll be ready to go soon but we are going to Myrtle Beach for a week the 19th. You should go to that foot brake race at Farmington that week. $10,000 every day. Later

Looks like communication has about dried up here so I will post something. 2 days ago it was 80 here and this morning it is 28, yes 28. I finally got my transmission out and the new converter is in it BUT it is still on the floor. Looks like I will not get back to it until after we get back from the beach. Had a mouse infestation last week, caught 1 Thursday, 2 Friday, and 5 Saturday. Have seen no signs since. Guess it was warm and they were hiding from he snakes outside. Tracks are starting to make some moves. Farmington has 2 foot brake races paying $10,000 each day next week for what I think is cheap entry. Life is good

Like I said above, life is good. I went out to eat and a fellow was having some mobility issues so I let them go ahead of me into the place. After I ate and asked for my check the waiter told me that those folks had taken care of it. Life IS good!

Happy Friday y'all. Fern, life is certainly good and you're a good dude. Y'all talking about rats... Those MF'rs are more than a PITA. The house we're in now had an infestation before we moved in, about this time last year. Had no idea about it until having some HVAC repairs started after taking possession. Cost us over $30,000. Probably closer to $40,000 after the insulation/encapsulation. Found a couple small areas of damaged HVAC ductwork and was set to repair it. Crew started and found that rats had used the entire duct system as a home. Roughly 2200 square ft home. Has 2 large trunk ducts, 15 ducts to registers and 2 returns. They found a couple dozen long dead carcasses inside the old as they removed it. Before replacing it, I had an insulation outfit remove all insulation under there, and they found a couple dozen more carcasses. The carcasses were dried up and old, hence no smell to alert us to them. House is clear now, with new HVAC underneath and had it encapsulated instead of re-insulated. Just got home from mandatory mini vacation with wife. Seems she needed to celebrate our weddin anniversary. I suppose it's a special occasion?? LOL... Went to Awendaw South Carolina to visit Bull Island. Never heard of either place, but a pretty cool little trip. Snagged some sanddollar's and seashells for the granddaughter. It's close to Charleston SC. Stayed last night in Mount Pleasant, across the bridge from Charleston. Also took a quick drive through Isle of Palms in the same area to check out a lighthouse there. Wife's best friend is a lighthouse freak and has gotten her hooked on em as well. Aside from removing tranny and dropping it off to my local expert, nothing new on the race car. I did watch the in car video I got. Friend loaned me his GoPro so I can watch myself as I make a mess in the driver seat. Caught a couple mistakes, aside from the 4th gear fiasco. 4th gear dog ring is damaged and there's a spiral lock missing that holds it tight to the gear. Haven't heard from him in respect to any other damage, so I don't think he's torn it down yet. Don't know If the lock broke before that shift letting the ring get loose, but the video clearly shows the shifter yanking itself out of my hand when I pulled 4th. Fingers went numb for a bit when it yanked. Pretty good chance I'll miss racing the GALOT IHRA race next week. May go to watch though. Y'all have a great weekend. William Kathryn and I spent a week in the Charleston area a few years back. Took boat tours, buggy tours, walked a bunch, and ate a lot. I put 450 miles on the Smart car while there. Going to Myrtle Beach Tuesday for a week or so and get to see the car show. Haven't touched the race car. Been getting the motor home ready to go. Last night the lights went out in the kitchen and front bathroom. I hope its just a failed breaker. Later

My wife and I spent a week in Charleston, South Carolina a few years ago, great place to visit. There is a place to eat at the end of the pier in the bay near May Street. Long ago it was a military warehouse but since was converted into a restaurant. They serve a "She Crab Soup" that was absolutely addictive. We ate there every evening during our stay. The only down side was that it rained nearly every day. Bob

Dang Fern. You did say something about rodents. Hope it's not related to those little turds. We got hosed down pretty good today and supposed to get cold this week. No fun when it's cold at the beach. William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100
