Funny thing... In a month or so, they have one of those no prep races scheduled, where they run from the shutdown area back up top. You're right, should run true no prep on the fresh surface a time or two and lay some rubber down. LOL William Kilduff 1970 Barracuda 1968 Camaro X2 1968 Caprice 1964 F100

Hope everyone is doing well. I just found out my new block is "supposed" to be finished the end of next week. We will see how it goes. My machinist is a good guy and I give delivery dates all the time myself hoping nothing goes wrong to wreck them. We are being predicted to get 7" of rain this week, to go with having just had the 3rd wettest April/May on record. Hopefully we don't get much wind or we are going to lose more trees. Was quoted $700 for a guy to haul off all the limbs left from the trees we lost. Just have too many to burn like I usually do. Southwest Oklahoma is supposed to get 12"-13" this week. Maybe it fill up the aquifers to former levels. Going over some stuff on the car and noticed my belts are due this month. It's always something. Y'all have a great week.

We do have LOTs of tracks. What we don’t have is any track with a consistent weekly bracket program. I moved here years ago for the racing and now they race more at home

Barry, from 181-194lbs is what is listed for it. I didn't actually weigh it. I might try to get a weight on it when I get it back before I build. Heck I don't even know what a stock block weighs. I have 4 tracks to choose from within 173 miles. My home track is just 26 miles away. Very fortunate.

Fern… The West sucks for racing now unless you have a big budget. That’s a dime any way you look at it Curtis unless your car likes the front heavy? California Screaming! Raceless in California!

BP I am 48mi from Rockingham and 50 from Piedmont. 60 from Galot, 60 from Farmington. Whole bunch less or close to 150. Bristol and VMP are about 160 each. Lots of tracks but not a lot of racing. But I am 84 years old and don't seem to travel as good as I used to-----

Happy to see you still enjoying yourself Fern! Remember the good ole days here? Fremont, Sac and Sears Point? God what a blast! We hit it hard for years! California Screaming! Raceless in California!

My oldest son Mike moved to Western/Central Kentucky three months ago, race tracks everywhere, many within 60 miles. No more thousand mile towing to attend one race. Many Southern California racers now living in Kentucky and Tennessee, they have the right idea. Done with the BS in California! Bob

The tracks are here, they just don't do much. I lived in CA a long time ago for awhile. Raced at Lions, and Fontana. Later in life I lived in Mesa Arizona and raced at Beeline. My first race was at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson when I lived there as a kid. Also lived in Garland Texas and Moore, OK where I raced at Thunder Valley. Then I came East for good mostly living in the Baltimore--Washington area. Been here in NC for about 18 years. Da mn shame but the good old days seem gone unless you no-prep etc.
