Evenin' all! The big storm we were supposed to get here, that could dump a foot of snow, has been all rain so far. I think I may prefer the snow... the temps are supposed to crash into the teens and single digits, which will turn everything into sheets of ice. It's a lot of rain we're getting, been 4-5 hours of it so far.

Floyd, your area out of drought conditions now? I like all kinds of chili, I'm ok with beans, but beef, onions, and and some good spiciness is always good. And pepperjack improves most anything. I had my omelette this morning with it. And any time I see the word pecan, I want the pie. Big Grin

Nick, bummer about the rain. Sounds like all the stuff I tried sending your way last summer is just making it. I hope you got to make a rip or two this weekend.

Fern, I hope I have that luck at the DMV when I get my new camera card in the next month. I'm glad to hear all is good so far with the knee.

You all have a good night. Go Chiefs!

Mornin Y'all,

Marty say's I gotta get off my dead a$$ and get busy on the truck. He bought a new Messiere water pump, new fan and shroud and a 4 core aluminum radiator. He say's he paid for it so I gotta change them.

Hey Fern, got some spare time to come help me?

The weather has finally changed so it's gonna be warm enough to get out in the garage and get busy. The laundry can wait a couple of days and I can always eat take out.

Y'all have a gooden.

Nick the ones that drop right in normally don't take much more than a tig welder, a tube bender, and some fabricating knowledge to make them fit after you pull the engine. Never takes more than a couple of days.....what a deal.

Well it took a few days but the headers and the motor are back in and I started it up. Started changing the oil and dumped the drain pan over and spilled all 7 quarts on the floor. Got it mostly cleaned up and came in the house. Still need to replace the mufflers, the radiator, and the hood. Just seems to take an old guy a long time to do this stuff by himself anymore. 20 here this morning but warm in the garage. You need to get to work Floyd......

Fern, I am. Old radiator is set to com out. Just gotta put some coonectors on the fan wires. Had to have a friend of mine bust loose the AN fitting on the bottom hose. I couldn't get it to budge. When we put the CSR pump on we couldn't find a rubber hose to fit so we welded AN fittings on the lower outlet and the pump. The new Mesieri has a cast on outlet so I hope I can find a hose. Just gotta put the fan and shroud on the new radiator and slip it back in. Marty bought a new fan but no shroud so I'm using the one off the old radiator. Should fit, dimensions are the same.

I was wrong about the dimensions of the shroud. It will not fit the new radiator. So Marty had to order another one so he went with the 2 fan version. That's another 200 bucks he had to shell out and now I have 2 extra 16" fans we have no use for. Going to have to do a little spacing so the new radiator will fit the stock core support. Now to find a lower hose. All because he thought it was time for a new water pump and radiator.

Fern, it was a CSR pump I've had on for several years. Marty said it was chinese junk so time to get the best. The radiator was the stock one. It's served us well on a few different engines. Marty said we need a lighter weight 3 core aluminum. Hey, it's his money. Now he's got about 1200 bucks in upgrading the cooling system. And he's ordered new front tires. They are a few years old so he's probably right on that one.
I've been shelling out the bucks for 19 years on this turd so now it"s his turn.

What I meant was every time you try to up grade a $5 item that should take 5 min it ends up being a $500 item that takes 5 days, if you are lucky. Like my headers! It WAS nice and warm yesterday, high 50s. Mowed the whole yard and got the John Deere ready to get picked up today. Supposed to be in the 60s today and stay like that next 7 days. Might wash truck today.....where is Chuck? becoming a face place person I'll bet Wink

Howdy all! Been a bit nuts lately. Work, wanting to hibernate, good kind of family stuff. Birthday party for my mom last weekend, great stuff. Cold here this week, thankfully no issues. I always worry about pipes freezing. The old Escort wagon fired right up, even at -4. Thankfully, warming up, beautiful sunny day today, supposed to hit 40, then into the 50s for 3-4 days. I'm hoping to fire up the race car tomorrow; at the least I'll bump the valves around.

Floyd,, I love my Meziere pump on the '69. Works great. The '81 has a stock pump with the Moroso drive. It keeps the car well cooled off. But, if I get my butt in gear, I'd like to swap the Meziere into the '81 before I sell the '69.

Fern, work is keeping me hopping, projects stacking up on top of projects. I come home and don't want to look at a computer. I hope the rat today was right, and winter will be over soon.

Nick, how are things out in AZ? You getting to race?

Rooting for my pool numbers and the Rams tomorrow, in that order. Big Grin

Mornin Y'all

We have been getting the back east weather the last few days. It's been in the low 30's every morning. Must be getting a break, it's 40* right now.
The new national stock eliminator champion went out in rd 1. He got beat on both ends of the track. Looks like the weather is going to hold out to get the race in. Possible showers Sunday evening but hopefully they will be after it's over.
Y'all have a gooden.

Howdy all! TGIF for sure. Long work week. We got a nice little break in the weather early this week. I did get to fire up the race car and putt it around a little. Man, did that feel good. Back to winter today, dropping temps all day with big wind gusts. The annual World of Wheels show is this weekend, and that will scratch the itch a little, seeing friends and cars.

Floyd, wow, you are getting some real winter out there too. Well, the 30s in the AM anyway. The high 50s not so much Big Grin

Fern, send some of that warmth north. What's the schedule on your knee? Doing ok with it?

Nick, where you been at?

You all have a great weekend. Ice cream time!
Relaxing

Mornin Y'all,

Starting off to be a great day. It's raining. Ha!
Don't think they are going to get much done at Pomona today. I'll just stay inside with the garage door closed and try to get that damn bottom radiator hose on. I hate change.
