If I am following this correctly, the 50k entry is $999 for three races. The million is $3,000.If you don't win a single round and buyback, that is $350 x 3.Buyback for million is $600.Total is $5649 for one entry, and a lot of people double enter.Plus, there is a warm up race.

Clearly not for the "average Joe",but at what point is it not for the "above average Joe"?

That's what I was thinking. Although in all fairness the catch is, if you win third round in any race you make money.

Round money on steroids they're calling it.

The catch phrases they come up with is marketing brilliance.

Somebody knows what they're doing.

I wasn’t there, but that seems like a situation ripe for “opportunity” when there are house cars in the field.

Prior to that drawing, there was a car owner who claimed to know that something was afoot, and said to pay attention to who was selected.

Here’s the Thursday Jackpot Drawing for the $50k race starting at 4:00. Half Million was the same method.

My advice is if you purchase now to keep good records of what you purchased and the flyer that is with the event you’re purchasing.

Here's the revised posting......

I hope he gets 1000 entries…but that is some steep change for the average Joe to come up with….
the average Joe doesn't race big money events for a reason, fair big money events cost big money to race. It really is that simple.

Flyer says 400 entries max and it’s been listed on FB as sold out. I’ll say 410+.

This race will do well due to the fact no one else is racing and it sold out with extra entries.

I have seen so many comments about everyone owing Kyle a debt for bringing big money bracket racing to the country.

Wasn't it, George Howard or something like, that who started it all?

Fact George Howard wrote the book on added purse racing. He had FREE races that paid $25,000 + and made money off the buybacks. He could hold a race in a cow field and they would show up. He had the first million, I think Folks have that one now. B&M Million it was called. I attended one of his races in Huntsville years ago and the timing equipment broke and had to wait for the experts to come fix it. Next thing you knew he was flying around the track in an airplane tossing out money--real green money!

I don't believe the employee was disgruntle and has been away for a while. Some of what he shared was old stuff. He laid out what people assumed and then added details that confirmed. The fixed raffles, the knowing of cars not being paired correct and the random discounts on entry fees while others pay full price. We all know there will be house cars where tabs are being picked up by the promoter with a discounted purse to the winner. I have no issues with that as long as they are treated the same as all other entries. Once the promoter manipulates any pairing or re-entry of said house cars then the race itself has been manipulated. That is not good for the sport or any other promoters out there.

Did SFG change big money bracket racing? Not at all unless we have accepted the idea it is OK for the promoter to flaunt their crooked ways of promoting. Flings, Loose Rocker and many others promote good clean races. They have been for years. They grew their programs and gave back as racer participation grew. They didn't chase down SFG, they stayed in their lane and offered a better product at affordable pricing. It was promotions like the flings and loose rocker that started to help bring back big money racing again. George Howard pushed many different big money races and had many success with his events but there were things that happened that pushed racers away. Those that got checks from George knew sometimes it needed a few extra days to be made good. I don't think George ever stiffed anyone on a payout but toward the end I feel he had some struggles. There was also the incidents in the late 90's at the Winter Series races that made people feel that cheating was too big of an issue to participate in big buck races. It really took a lot for the promoters to earn back cars and start to build it back up. If anything, SFG let others build the base. Greed is a terrible thing and when you start robbing Peter to pay Paul you just end up with a sore Peter. Too many good promoters have worked too damn hard to bring people back to the money racing scene. All it takes is 1 greedy promoter out there selling his religion like he is the Jimmy Swaggart of bracket racing to ruin a good thing going on.

/\/\/\/\This... how can this not bother 100% of the racers???
It seems most people agree that this stuff happened and will probably continue to happen at these races so its really hard to believe that there is STILL support for this...its 2022 I guess Big Grin

It didn't really matter to me how he got the money, until he couldn't pay the money he guaranteed.

I understand that the racers agreed to race for less than the advertised purse, however if the promoter is indeed raking in money, why would he even go to the racers to put them in the position of making that decision? If the promoter takes the risk (which they absolutely do) then the promoter should have dealt with the shortfall and should have never asked the racers to race for less. Talk about being good at marketing! The racers were sold a race at a set price for a guaranteed payout, then after the entry was paid, and everyone was on the grounds committed to racing, the promoter sells them on racing for less money. He likely knew that human emotion would lead to the racers "settling" for less. That, to me speaks to one's character and integrity.
