Master Cutoff Revision This presently appears in the latest copy of 2026 NHRA rules. The pics are from the Amendments.

Wonder what prompted this. My guess is someone had an issue and the cutoff switch was the cheapest they could find, put in the easiest place they could find to put it.....and it wasn't easily accessible or visible.... Fun, now I have to reconfigure my daughter's car to move the switch, and that's not going to be easy.....What's the NHRA trying to do, chase the sportsman away? So guessing my lawnmower cable with looped end for pull to cut off that does not kill mag but does kill power to everything else would not be legal. Always amazesmethe hops some have to jump thru to run NHRA race thta cost twice as much and pays half of a local bracket race. America home of free. Brought to you by 2nd amendment.

I bought a 4 pack of these stickers (2.8 x 1.5”) from Amazon for $5. Slightly smaller in size but who’s going to be measuring… really

Great post! Thanks for pointing it out. This is really a big change and will most likely catch a lot of racers off guard if you think about where the switches are mounted on most cars. I'd say on/off switches will be the hot off season upgrade for most. SL...

Luckily I fixed the Demon just that way. Only need to add their required decal. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......

I searched for the decal. Pegasus Auto Racing has the decals in stock. Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right. Here I am.......

You can't tell in this pic that the lettering is yellow on a black car but I have been compliant for a couple years now. Fat bottom girl is ready to dance.

Decide to use this one to start, might change it later.

Anybody know where I can get the billet 2" knob they are requiring with "push off" engraved in it? I think my switch has 10/32 thread. I've figured out how to make this work on my daughters car with very little work, just need the right knob for it. Thanks! Can’t call it a Master switch anymore. It’s a Primary switch! ![]() California Screaming! Raceless in California!

My son talked with Vince Howell a D4 tech guy. He said what brought this on was a car backed into the wall and the rear wing folded down and covered the master cutoff and they couldn't kill the power.

When will Drag Race Solutions have the knobs available?

If that's the case. I don't understand how the new rules would help that situation, am I missing something. I agree the rules are an improvement for safety but not in the case above. 2BKING ![]() 1980 Camaro Taking the Best Working Small Tire Shyt Box & making it Greater Than Before! 3100 lbs. Well the new rule does specify that the master shut off can not be located under the wing or parachute mount so there is that

Gonna be fun watching all the old guys like me with tube cars turning on the power when the switch is 6" off the ground "I am not ashamed to confess I am ignorant of what I do not know." Marcus Tullius Cicero

"The electrical power cutoff switch must be placed in such a manner as to give a safety official an unobstructed view of the mechanism from the rear of the vehicle." Then later refers to it installed on the bumper & that would put it under the wing. I don't really care because I have no wing, but it's confusing about the parachute also. My contrasting color sticker is only 2" or 2.5" dia.; I'll have to use the other sticker also. 2BKING This message has been edited.
