Master Cutoff Revision

This presently appears in the latest copy of 2026 NHRA rules. The pics are from the Amendments.

Wonder what prompted this. My guess is someone had an issue and the cutoff switch was the cheapest they could find, put in the easiest place they could find to put it.....and it wasn't easily accessible or visible....

Fun, now I have to reconfigure my daughter's car to move the switch, and that's not going to be easy.....What's the NHRA trying to do, chase the sportsman away?

So guessing my lawnmower cable with looped end for pull to cut off that does not kill mag but does kill power to everything else would not be legal. Always amazesmethe hops some have to jump thru to run NHRA race thta cost twice as much and pays half of a local bracket race.

I bought a 4 pack of these stickers (2.8 x 1.5”) from Amazon for $5. Slightly smaller in size but who’s going to be measuring… really

Great post! Thanks for pointing it out.

This is really a big change and will most likely catch a lot of racers off guard if you think about where the switches are mounted on most cars.

I'd say on/off switches will be the hot off season upgrade for most.

Luckily I fixed the Demon just that way. Only need to add their required decal.

I searched for the decal. Pegasus Auto Racing has the decals in stock.
