If they want to do their own thing without nhra, they might consider doing it in cars that people are interested in watching

To make Pro Stock more interesting while educating TV viewers on drag racing, they oughta lay out the strategy of drivers in each pair.

Pro stock is bracket racing. If your opponent is 2 hundredths faster than you according to run sheets, that's how much you need to win the tree by, to make the race interesting.

I'm surprised TV analysts don't communicate what needs to happen for either car to win, before either let go of the clutch.

While it is sad that sponsors go I am always thankful for the private individuals that give so much to be a part of our sport. These names come to mind....
Terry Chandler
Rodger and Karen Comstock
Mark and Marshall Stockseth
Dikc Levi (because no one buys LRS products or yachts after seeing the name on Wilks car)
Ken Black

I'm sure there's many more...and don't be a **** because I spelled **** wrong. Smile

Nice Bry! There has been a bunch of money pumped into the sport and not much making it back to the racers with exception to those mentioned above and more. That needs to change. The classes have been tarnished. We've (Jeff and I) been doing this for 50 years and nothing surprises me now.

Force saw the handwriting on the wall or had advance knowledge of things to come. Makes his decision look like a genius.

If we want sponsors to pump money into our sport we need to help put money in their business. We should all be running Lucas oil in at least our daily drivers.

I buy most of my parts through Summit. I run NGK spark plugs. We should also go out of our way to let them know why we are using their stuff. We will jump on the internet in a heartbeat to criticize a company but how many have sat down and written an email, or better yet an actual letter, to a company thanking them for their participation? Just a thought.

It's more than a thought Curtis, it's a great idea if we want them to contribute to the sport of Drag Racing.

It's a gesture that has a great ROI. Marketing folks love the PR.

When Las Vegas casino's start moving operations to Asia, saying America isn't the place to be. Top Fuel drag racing isn't far behind.

Common sense.

Having read this earlier, I was shopping for gear lube on Pep Boys website this morning and noticed equal weight synthetic offering between Lucas and Mobile 1. The Mobile 1 was less money than Lucas. Price is always going to be a factor and Mobile 1 has name recognition second to none. Just an observation.

Well you do what you want. I still race and will do some of the small things that help my sport.

I agree. My point was Lucas is going to have an uphill battle being a lesser know brand at a higher price. Enthusiast support is great but they need the support of the greater market for long term success. And I hope they get it.

Addendum: The gear oil I was looking at above, before actually ordering I went out and checked my stock and I had enough so as not to need to buy anymore at this time. What I had on the shelf was LUCAS!

It would be interesting to know who blends the Lucas Oil Products?

Reading their about us area on their web site, it seems like maybe they do. They bottle, but I'm guessing they blend at corporate.
