It is obvious that you and most dems have never been in the military, because the thing that drummed into your head is “when you are in charge you are responsible”. I can see you would take the position “I am in charge, but it not my fault” that’s what passes as leadership to dems?

That is pathetic

Bob

How can you not understand that I was talking about congress? You are not that slow are you? But nice try at taking something out of context. Joseph Goebbels would be proud of you.

U.S. says it has evidence of 2 more bribe tries

quote:
WASHINGTON -- The Justice Department said Friday that it intends to present evidence of two additional bribery schemes, including one involving efforts to win a contract with NASA, as part of its corruption case against Rep. William Jefferson, D-New Orleans.
In both cases, prosecutors said, Jefferson sought a payoff for relatives in exchange for his help in setting up business deals.
The government listed 11 schemes in its June 4 indictment, which accused the nine-term congressman of bribery, racketeering and violation of the corrupt foreign practices act. The Justice Department is not looking to add any charges to the indictment, but said it plans to use the two new alleged schemes as evidence at the trial, which is scheduled to begin Jan. 16.

Let’s review democratic “leaders” statements

From Harry Reid
quote:
"I believe myself that the secretary of state, secretary of defense and - you have to make your own decisions as to what the president knows - (know) this war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday," said Reid, D-Nev.

Iraqis are voting with their feet by returning home after exile
quote:
The figures are hard to estimate precisely but the process could involve hundreds of thousands of people. The numbers are certainly large enough, as we report today, for a mass convoy to be planned next week as Iraqis who had opted for exile in Syria return to their homeland. It is one of the most striking signs that not only has violence in Baghdad and adjacent provinces decreased dramatically in recent months, but confidence in the economic and political future of Iraq has risen sharply.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/leading_article/article2910230.ece

from chris dodd
quote:
The proposal being considered by the administration to add between 15,000 and 30,000 soldiers in a "surge" of American troops will do nothing to address this issue. If anything, "surge" is a tactic in search of a strategy. How does it lead to victory? It won't solve any problems;

Jan. 24, John Kerry said: “I tell you what: I’m confident it will not work.”

John sure has a lot of confidence in al-Qaeda.

US reports ‘phenomenal’ drop in Iraq violence

quote:
The figures show the numbers of suicide attacks, roadside bombings, mortar and other attacks on US forces and on the Iraqi population have more than halved since 30,000 extra troops in June.

http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/ca653412-97b4-11dc-9e08-00007....html?nclick_check=1

Now why would these “leaders” try and provide encourage to al-qaeda and to destroy the moral of American troops? Let’s take a look
harry reid
quote:
We're going to pick up Senate seats as a result of this war," Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.) told reporters yesterday. "Senator Schumer has shown me numbers that are compelling and astounding."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...AR2007041201992.html

he NEEDS America to lose so HE CAN GET MORE POWER!

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.)
quote:
But of late there have been signs that the commander of U.S. forces might be preparing something more generally positive. Clyburn said that would be "a real big problem for us."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...AR2007073001380.html

American troops succeeding is a "real big problem" for democrats.

Now you know why they want to cut off funds for the war, they need/want the United States of America to lose.

It is imperative that WE, the U.S., not the socialist donkey terrorist abetters and the msm, lose the war for the socialist donkies political fortunes!
After the socialist donkies have their Presidential nominee watch them turn on a dime and claim it was their policies that resulted in the turnaround in Iraq and their bedmates the msm will do what is necessary to promote this idea!!!!!!!!!!
What a bunch of bottom feeders they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree with your assessment. The Demos are listening to the American ppl and the war is unfavorable by 70 to 85% of the taxpayers.
What % are you in joe?

The war was over a long time ago when we couldn't find any WOMD's and couldn't link Iraq to 9/11 or Al Quida.

We don't need to build up a sand flea country and losing any more good Americans to dumbya's pipe dreams. We should be stepping up security on our borders. Wern't the hiJackers involved in 9/11 enter into this country undetected including getting flight training here and carring out their plans here???

Only the "WAR Profiteers" want to see this war go on for years. And of course, dumbya's oil buddies and Cheneys Halliburton.

joe, you still making money off the war?????

There are going to be many more Nelson Muntz moments and I am going to be here for all of them.

I think the ones that have been duped are the ones who still believe how good this economy is and how it is OK to pay better than $ 3.00 per gallon for gas just "because they pay more in Europe."

Even those who tout the stock market, must also see that the stock market is in a mess. (That is of course unless you own stock in EXXON)

The government is spending itself into oblivion.

Maybe the right wingers who chastise all the illegals entering the country should look to the one who has been effectively in charge of protecting our borders for the last 7 years.

The U.S. spends much more time and resources protecting the Iraqi border than the U.S. border.

The opinions of old GM screws don't hold much water. Razz

What a fawking joke the repubs/conservs has led us into.

I know you will not be able to comprehend this but, please stay on topic. The topic is “today’s democrats” if you would like to post about the war without any content about “today’s democrats” there are plenty of other topics or you could start another one.
